One man was shot dead and another injured in the Malick area shortly before 2pm on Thursday.

00:04one man was shot dead and another injured in the Malik area shortly before 2pm today.

00:10Investigators say gunmen opened fire on the victims along 7th Avenue in Malik.

00:15Both victims, who suffered several gunshot wounds, ran off

00:19but collapsed a short distance away from where they were shot.

00:22One of the men appeared to be still alive when residents checked on his condition.

00:27However, the other man, identified only as Elijah, was found a short distance away, dead.

00:34Police are yet to ascertain a motive for the shooting.

00:37That was the country's 42nd murder victim for the year.
