00:00Two sisters and their teenaged nephew were beaten, bound and robbed at their penile home on Tuesday morning.
00:06Four masked bandits, two armed with cutlasses and two with firearms, broke into the family's home around 1.30 a
00:13.m. while they slept.
00:15The sisters, aged 40 and 57 years old, and their nephew, a 14-year-old Form 3 student, were robbed
00:22of phones, thousands of dollars in TT and U.S. currency, some jewelry and a B-15 vehicle.
00:29Speaking off camera, their home on Wednesday, the younger sister recounted the traumatic ordeal.
00:59I thought that I was going to die because I am seeing a gun, you know, and he's saying that,
01:05you know, tonight you all will die.
01:07And all I could think about was that I was going to die.
01:11She says while they are grateful their lives were spared, her dog, a husky, and a neighbor's dog were killed,
01:17they believed the bandits poisoned them before breaking in.
01:20The sisters say they never imagined they would be victims of brutal home invasions and say unless people change, there
01:27is little the government or police can do to stop criminals like these.
01:31Nothing can really help except God, no, because these are like devils walking on the earth, I'm telling you.
01:37Because if you could watch a woman and beat her like that, something is definitely wrong with you.
01:41Nothing can really help but praise, no, I'm being honest with you.
01:45No set of laws or anything, the minds and the hearts of the people have to change for you.
01:50No laws can really keep them back.
01:52It starts from routine.
01:54You have to have compassion, no, something is definitely wrong.
