A 35-year-old man is to be charged with the murder of Police Constable Krishna Banahar, who was killed in the line of duty on November 6th. Meantime, Minister in charge of Policing, Keith Scotland, is advising PC Banahar's family that compensation is available. Rynessa Cutting reports.

00:52The suspect is also facing charges for possession of a firearm and ammunition
00:57Banahar who was 25 years old have been employed with the police service for four years

02:55One's a Kibwe Joseph from Gonzales village Guapo for the murder of PC Krishna Banahar
03:01Earlier today after instructions were handed down by the DPP Roger Gaspard
03:05Joseph is also charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition
03:09The shooting death of the other man who is Joseph's relative is still engaging the attention of the DPP
03:17Woman police constable Kiana Mahabir has been discharged from hospital
03:21Police say the 30-year-old officers recovering well and is now surrounded by family and loved ones
03:27WPC Mahabir was shot in the head and chest on October 22nd outside her home on Hydraulic Road in Kearney
03:35Mahabir was part of an all-female contingent
03:38Representing the Trinidad and Tobago police to respond in the Bahamas and the US and had just returned to the country when the incident occurred

03:48Identified the suspect in the incident as other robberies in the Central Division had suspects matching the descriptions given in Mahabir's shooting
