00:00Based on the history that we had gotten is that this lands had commissioned
00:06through Kearny 1975 and we was told that EMBD was in charge of the project and
00:16then it was handed over to Commissioner of State Lands. Numerous
00:24emails went to Kearny plus EMBD and lately a couple of weeks ago we got a
00:34response from EMBD and Kearny saying that Commissioner of State Lands is in
00:40charge of the backyard. Residents of Roop Singh Road residential development in
00:45Karapachai Ma are in a conundrum. They've bought land and homes to individuals but
00:51now that they're trying to get maintenance and repairs for issues in
00:54the development, no entity is taking responsibility. If we were to call on the
00:59corporation Kuva Kabakitalpa Regional Corporation to come and do something
01:04here, they try their best but the answer we've been getting from them is that the
01:09area not vested under the corporation, neither is the same thing with Wassa
01:13which pertains to the sewer leak and I mean it's not only here in the area that
01:17sewer is leaking, it's multiple manholes throughout. Apart from raw sewage leaking
01:23onto the road when rain falls, residents are also contending with overgrown lots,
01:28drainage issues and flash flooding. I have purchased land in 2018 and since
01:35then I have been notifying Wassa about water, Wassa water leaking the lines. All
01:41the lines have connections to the lands and they have the blue lines and when
01:46fire passed through the lines were burnt and all the water just keep spraying out.
01:50If you put a pipe on it, Wassa come and tell you that there is an illegal connection so
01:55you can't stop it. You have to leave it anytime. You contact them, they tell you
01:58that they're not responsible for this community. We have a lot of
02:04house break-ins because people hide in the bush. It's a lot of things
02:14going on in the back here.
02:44that only some parts of the development were vested with the MBD and that
02:49regardless it had received no formal complaints from any of its tenants.
