It will be hot in the Southeast, Southwest and rainy in the central parts of the country this week.
Transcript
00:00Everybody in the southern latitudes will be hot unless you're right along the coastline. Yeah, that's right
00:03There's some coastal comfort going on. We'll get the California here coming up in a little bit here as well
00:07Raleigh quieting down here for tonight as those thunderstorms rumble their way to the east still some early
00:13Thunderstorms down into Florida and warm nights very warm 82 for your low tonight
00:18So that's not a refreshing open up the windows type situation
00:21The areas around Charlotte and New Orleans are going to be into the low to mid 90s there Atlanta 96 average high 89
00:28That's right, and we'll see the heat continuing here again for other locations that will actually be approaching daily record
00:33High temperatures as in the case here both in Greenville and in grade one, Mississippi
00:38And you can see the historical hottest June 25th on the right there
00:42So we're getting a big time heat hot time of the year to be talking about records and over the next few days
00:47We'll get a little relief for some but it's not a real straightforward story because others like Jacksonville actually warm up into Thursday
00:54Yeah, that's right, too
00:55So we'll be seeing the temperatures climb their little rock shaving a little bit off here heading in toward Wednesday and Thursday
01:01But it's important to stay hydrated here all throughout. Oh, man afternoon golf
01:05It's gonna be a little steamy early tea times early out with and a big heat in Texas as well
01:09We're gonna be watching this gradual transition here this week as the heat is slowly shifting West
01:15We still have a hot Wednesday in DC
01:17But the overall message is areas farther west will hold on to the heat longest with flow from the south
01:23Continuing to pump these temperatures up here and there's not a whole lot of relief
01:26So we're up around 107 in tomorrow's forecast for El Paso. That's nine above average
01:31Yeah
01:32a lot of spots here right around 90 to
01:34100 degrees rather if not a few degrees shy that mark and in the case of Dallas that's still roughly about five degrees above
01:40The historical average and again wet weather here
01:44Mainly stays off toward the north as we work our way throughout the early part of the day
01:47But there can be some thunderstorms in the equation here, too
01:49And some into the fringe of that area where you probably won't see severe weather
01:53You're gonna welcome those showers and thunderstorms in because they'll offer a little bit of relief
01:56But it's a steam bath out there and the moisture is still gonna be present
02:00That's right
02:01Even as we work our way here into Wednesday more heat is on the way and then we can even travel our way westbound
02:05Into the desert southwest and it is sizzling here, too
02:08We're gonna be looking at those temperatures climbing back up into the triple digits
02:12In fact here around the Las Vegas and Phoenix even some 100 and teens on the board
02:17Very hot out there 110 in Phoenix average high 106 anything above average here is hot this time of the year in Reno
02:24We'll be around 93. They're pretty steamy even into the high ground
