00:00So here's our setup, and what I'm going to do here, here's our front.
00:05That's going to usher in that cooler and less humid air, but there's kind of a dividing line here.
00:10What we see northeast is very different than what we see in the southeast.
00:15We see more of the cooler, less humid air in the northeast versus the southeast.
00:19It's more of the rain before we get any kind of temperature change here.
00:23So Friday overall, temperatures in the 80s, though active weather real feel high solidly in the 90s across the region.
00:30Some of you, like Jackson, even set to get into the very low triple digits, but still triple digits, and
00:36it's October after all.
00:38That's not the type of temperatures that we should be seeing, but here's the rain and the thunderstorms.
00:42It doesn't help with our temperatures too, too much for the first day, but timeline through Sunday.
00:48It's round after round of heavy rainfall, which does mean, yes, we're concerned about flash flooding,
00:53and it's the same system that Jeff was talking about that has led to flash flood emergencies,
00:57has led to very dangerous situations in the southwest earlier this week.
01:01However, it's losing some intensity.
01:03We're talking about localized flash flooding, which is still something to take seriously,
01:07but we're just stepping down in the concern level and the intensity just a little bit here,
01:12just to put things in perspective.
01:14Future radar, you'll see that it's not an all-day, every-day situation for the next three days.
01:19In fact, I mean, I'm not stopping the clock until Friday 6 p.m.
01:22because it just wasn't worth stopping until this point.
01:25Now, we will see scattered rain and thunderstorms earlier in the afternoon,
01:28so morning is definitely your time to get outside if that's your goal for the day.
01:32And Florida, unfortunately, you see the worst of it for Friday.
01:36Watch what changes as we go through the weekend.
01:38So the front stalls out, we get more rounds of rain and thunderstorms,
01:41and then we'll end up with some movement as well.
01:43We get a little bit more widespread Saturday, but it's really Sunday that things get more widespread,
01:47spread with a lot more yellows, oranges, and reds on the map here.
01:51Some of this pulling in some gulf moisture,
01:53which is a trend that we're going to follow as we head into next week.
01:57But first, the weekend.
01:59Overall, take a look at our temperatures.
02:01That's the plus side of this.
02:02We've got to look for one, right, when it's a weekend full of rain,
02:05and, you know, that's going to impact college football, NFL football, all the football.
02:10Expect lightning delays.
02:12But take a look at who has the 70s this weekend.
02:15When's the last time we had a high in the 70s in the southeast?
02:19We will take it, trying to say goodbye to summer and hello to fall.
02:22But then as we head into next week, here's what I was talking about
02:25with the trend of gulf moisture continuing to be pulled in along the Gulf Coast
02:29and throughout Florida.
02:30We get more rounds of rain and thunderstorms through next week,
02:33which means your flash flood potential, it's just going to keep ticking up day by day by day here.
