00:00I am real worried that CMC is going to need more than a bye week here, Greg.
00:06And now I'm starting to get to that point where I love the system and Purdy's been great.
00:12But my goodness, I mean, there is you lose him for any extended period of time.
00:19That opens the door for Seattle, opens the door for the Rams.
00:24I hope everything is OK with him.
00:27But again, I can't wait to see what happens to the 49ers out of the bye week.
00:32I do think they're the best of the rest so far.
00:35But the injuries are the thing that can derail them.
00:38And I'm a little bit worried he goes down.
00:40What are the 49ers have left at that point?
00:43Yeah, no, they have Keon Black and he's a rookie or second year player.
00:48They don't have much.
00:49But look, the 49ers had Mason play a couple of years ago for them.
00:53And he was fantastic and got himself a deal with the Vikings, too.
00:55You got to remember, it's the Shanahan run game.
00:59So it doesn't take anything away from Christian McCaffrey.
01:01But it's the same Shanahan run game that his dad ran, Joe, when it was Terrell Davis and Mike Anderson
01:08and Olandis Gary and Portis.
01:10And it was just every every running back on Denver was a superstar.
01:13And so I sort of feel the same way about San Francisco.
01:17They've had some guys come through there who have actually been pretty viable to your point.
01:22Look, I do think the 49ers right now, we should call them the best team in the league.
01:27I think what you saw from Seattle Monday night tells us let's not forget how good Seattle was last year
01:33and what they did to Kansas City on Monday night was super duper impressive.
01:37Like, that's going to be a really good team, too.
01:40I like, as I mentioned, I like the Bears.
01:42But what did the 49ers do so far, Joe?
01:45They did something that's really important where you can't win the Super Bowl in September and August, but they just
01:50banked themselves five wins.
01:51So if they get themselves six or seven wins or five wins the rest of the way, what does that
01:55mean?
01:56They're going to have home field.
01:57They're going to have a bye.
01:58And they're going to be in a great spot.
02:00And they're going to be the favorite to get to the Super Bowl.
02:03But as we've seen before, Seattle's had their number.
02:05And could Seattle beat San Francisco in San Francisco in an NFC championship game situation?
02:10Absolutely.
02:11Could the Bears do it?
02:12I think so.
02:13I think it's wide open in the NFC.
02:15I think there's a lot of teams that are still in play there.
02:18And you mentioned the injury situation.
02:20That was their situation last year.
02:22But it derailed their season last year.
02:25It just tore them apart.
02:26And they had a very off season.
02:29A lot of people said that Shanahan did his best coaching job last year when they actually performed above with
02:34all the injuries they had.
02:35But, Joe, when you're so heavily invested in McCaffrey, who's no longer young like he used to be, Mike Evans,
02:42who's no longer young like he used to be, and you really don't have a ton of wide receiver, a
02:46lot of the guys that they had, Bourne, Juwan, James, are gone now.
02:49So maybe this is a team, Joe, we talk about trades.
02:52Maybe this is actually a team that could do a little more at the trade deadline.
02:56Maybe they could tap back into Indianapolis, get Alec Pierce, or get somebody else, maybe from their roster.
03:03I don't know.
03:05But you just can't ignore when you start 5-0 what that means to a football team, just like Minnesota,
03:10too.
03:10Even if Minnesota loses a bunch of games, they're still going to have those wins.
03:13They're probably going to get a first-round buy.
03:15And that's just huge for the NFL with all the injuries they have to get that week off.
03:20I mean, timing is everything, right?
03:23And having that time to maybe heal up here a little bit, I would love to see Bosa back.
03:30I think DeForest Buckner gives them go after the quarterback.
03:35That defense has to be ready to go, especially if CMC.
03:39And knock on wood, he has been healthy.
03:41You know, he was healthy a lot longer last year, and I thought he was going to be.
03:45Hopefully it won't be out for a long, right?
03:47I mean, it was, so let's just hope that, I don't know why they didn't address necessarily
03:55what, but hopefully Evans comes back healthy.
03:57I think they have the pieces, if healthy.
04:01That's the big thing.
