00:00 We're here with Judith Hill at the Number Ones party. How does it feel being here tonight?
00:04 It feels awesome. I've always loved this time of the year and celebrating good music, good people.
00:08 Is there any songs this year that you've been loving that you hope take big wins at the Grammys?
00:12 Oh man, well I love John Batiste. I love Kendrick Lamar, Hillbillies. I love,
00:17 there's a lot of really great things out there I'm looking forward to.
00:20 I mean John Batiste, he's so good and he gets so many Grammys. Remember that year that he like
00:24 swept? He got album of the year and everything. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:27 So well deserved. And so when you get into a songwriting headspace, what is the first thing
00:32 you think of when you sit down? Is it the lyrics, the melody, the feeling? What is it or is it
00:37 different every time? I think it's usually the lyrics and the feeling. What is the message I'm
00:42 trying to convey to the world? Yeah, and I always ask this question because I always find it so
00:46 interesting. Are happy songs easier to write or sad songs easier to write?
00:50 Sad songs are easier to write. Yeah, because you're more emotional. You're ready to let it
00:54 all out. They're very authentic. Yeah. And what are you looking forward to tonight?
00:59 Just connecting with good people, celebrating music. I've always felt like as a collective,
01:05 when we come together and build energy around the arts and celebrating talent, it just
01:10 raises the energy of the universe. Well, thank you so much, Judith. This is great.
