00:10of the year award and this is for many reasons but one of the reasons is your
00:15work with Chris Stapleton. So can you tell me about your relationship with
00:19Chris? I mean it's amazing. They're like family. The Stapletons are like
00:22family and I'm so thankful to get to be included after all these years. I feel
00:27like you know we've been around for a while and it's just unbelievable.
00:29Every time you know we get to come to something like this it's just I don't
00:32take it for granted. It's like from God you know. Yeah no it's it's special to have
00:38those relationships that follow you through and with your career and you
00:41grow together. That's very rare and so special. Yeah it's crazy. I'm just again
00:46I can't believe we're here. Honestly it feels you know like a little kid dreaming
00:50in the middle of nowhere to be in Nashville Tennessee and kind of a pinch me
00:54moment yeah. So you are now a chief creative officer at MCA. So
00:59how is that going and what what's exciting you about that right now?
01:02I mean the exciting thing to me is to get to continue working with people like
01:05Chris who are on the label and their legends like you know George Strait on
01:08the label and Alan Jackson and and all the young people that are coming up. So
01:13it's really great to nurture people's careers and be involved and kind of help
01:17them you know help them help us figure it out which I love you know.
01:21Well I mean I was just saying before the camera started rolling you're such a legend in
01:25this industry. I've you know I've heard how well respected you are and I have a
01:30bit of a fun question for you this next one. So if someone from any genre of
01:34music living or dead that you could work with you know you could pick from the
01:37gamut who would it be? The thing is I'm really scared of my heroes. Paul McCartney
01:42Rod Stewart I'm scared you know I'm scared of them like I don't know what I
01:46would do. I mean I still feel like a child when I'm around my heroes you know.
01:49Yeah so that's the real answer but you just might not show up to the session.
01:53Maybe yeah I'd probably I'd probably get I don't know some really where where
01:58sickness that only lasted for that day. Yeah I got food poisoning sorry Paul.
