Randy Travis and Mary Travis caught up with Lindsey Stirling on the red carpet at the ACM Honors 2025.

00:00All right, I am here with Randy Travis.
00:02Congratulations on winning the Milestone Award.
00:06What does that mean to you?
00:10It makes you happy, huh?
00:12Yeah.
00:12Yeah.
00:13He's so grateful.
00:14I mean, he and the ACMs have pretty much traveled the career of Randy
00:21Travis together.
00:22Yeah.
00:24Early on when his songs came out, ACM was one of the first to recognize.
00:31I don't know, I think 14 or 16 nominations, 11 ACM awards over the years.
00:38So it's just, you know, to see it come full circle and to be here this many years
00:43later, I know it means so much to Randy.
00:47Absolutely.
00:48And so many artists from the last three decades look up to you and admire you so
00:53much.
00:54Uh, boards that go to legends such as yourself, not just a song, not just a
00:58moment, but someone who's got a career of lifetime of inspiring.
01:02So what country legends meant something to you and inspired you through your
01:06career?
01:07I'm going to have to say, cause he always told me George Jones, Merle
01:13Faggard, Lefty Frizzell, he just, you know, the, the old country, traditional
01:18country guys are the ones that he listened to that inspired him.
01:22Absolutely.
01:23So last year you released where that came from your first new recording in more than a decade
01:29with the help of AI technology.
01:30Can we expect more?
01:32Yeah.
01:33Perhaps.
01:34Yeah.
01:35I think so.
01:36Yes.
01:37Yeah.
01:38We have, there's another one in the can.
01:39Yeah.
01:40So we're hoping that that, you know, and the AI is something that people, you fear the unknown.
01:45You're not real sure what to think of it.
01:47So we, Randy was, he was always on the forefront of ideas in country music, um, video walls,
01:57videos, music videos.
01:58He was always there on the forefront and AI was just another one of those things.
02:03When Chris Lacey said, are you interested in trying it?
02:07And we thought, what do we got to lose?
02:09We're already on the other side of it, you know, it's, it's, it's been interesting.
02:14And it's, it's great to have Kyle Lenning still in the studio with Randy 40, 45 years
02:21later.
02:22So it's, it's, it's an interesting thing.
02:24And it's coming.
02:25I mean, it's at our doorstep.
02:26It's not something just on the horizon anymore.
02:29Yeah.
02:30Well, it always takes a trailblazer, somebody that's brave enough to try the scary new things.
02:34Cause everything was scary once upon a time.
02:36So congratulations on doing something really groundbreaking.
02:39And you know, I hope we get to hear more.
02:42You're so sweet.
