K. Michelle caught up with Lindsey Stirling on the red carpet at the ACM Honors 2025.
Transcript
00:00I'm here with Kay Michelle. Now, you're performing for Recy Palmer tonight. What an honor.
00:06It's an honor. It's very much an honor. I'm so humbled and excited to be honoring her and to be here with y'all tonight.
00:12Yes. What has she meant to you?
00:15She's meant everything, especially for culture, and she's been fighting for years, and I've watched her.
00:21So to stand before her, sing for her, give her her flowers, and for it to be her birthday, it's a big time.
00:28Yeah. That's a lot of big things all at once.
00:30Yes.
00:30Congratulations.
00:31Well, thank you.
00:33Yes. Well, you've also been working on your debut country album with BMG Nashville.
00:38Yes.
00:39And rumor has it we are going to hear some music soon. Can you tell us more about that?
00:45Yes. I picked the best record label because I like that they always root for the underdogs.
00:51This is something that I held the music for so long, and they're like, okay, honey.
00:55It's as perfect as it can get. It's time to put out some music.
01:01And sometimes you need someone to tell you that because it sounds like you're a bit of a perfectionist,
01:06and you look like you're in all the details.
01:09I'm for the details. Christian Bush is an executive producer on the album, and I trust in him,
01:16but more so importantly, I trust in my heart and the amazing songwriters I've been able to work with in Nashville
01:23to bring this to life.
01:24Oh, well, that's so great. Okay. And you have an amazing version of Judd's, or sorry, The Judd's Love Can Build a Bridge.
01:33And is that any chance that might be on the album, or is that its own standalone piece?
01:38That's its standalone piece. I wanted to be a country singer because of The Judd.
01:43Oh, wow.
01:44Yes. So when I was asked to do a tribute to them and Do Love Can Build a Bridge, I was like, absolutely.
01:50And that's one of my favorite songs from them.
01:53So it's standalone. It's on the Judd's tribute album.
01:56But I wouldn't mind covering one of their songs, maybe Romp and Stomp and Bad Nose Blues, for mine one day.
02:03Okay. Well, you heard it here first. I can't wait to hear your album.
02:06Congrats, and have so much fun tonight.
02:08I hope you have a great time, too. You look amazing.
02:10Thank you. Right back at you, dear.
02:12Thank you, dear.
