00:26 10 - Mario vs Donkey Kong The Mario vs Donkey Kong series has been
00:35 missing for a long time now, the last game being 2016's Mini Mario & Friends Amiibo
00:40 Challenge on Nintendo 3DS.
00:48 We honestly thought Nintendo might not have the interest in a simple puzzle platformer
00:52 like this series.
00:53 However, Nintendo is putting out a remake of the first game, the GBA Original from 2003.
00:59 This remake will come with modern visuals and even a co-op multiplayer mode, as well
01:03 as properly animated cutscenes whereas the original utilized still images.
01:13 Expect it to come to Switch relatively early in the year, February 16th.
01:17 11 - Apollo Justice - Ace Attorney Trilogy Capcom and the Ace Attorney franchise found
01:29 themselves in an interesting predicament early in 2023.
01:32 The Apollo Justice games, the first game, Dual Destinies, and Spirit of Justice, found
01:38 themselves stranded on Nintendo 3DS, and with the 3DS eShop closing in March 2023, players
01:43 just have no way of accessing them.
01:48 Thankfully, all three games will be packaged in Apollo Justice - Ace Attorney Trilogy with
01:54 clearer and more detailed visuals.
01:57 The Ace Attorney legacy continues when this bundle of remasters releases on January 25th.
02:08 Persona 3 Reload - PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS3, and PS4U February is already looking to be
02:11 a packed month for games, it's October 2023 all over again.
02:16 But Persona 3 Reload is arguably going to be the biggest launch of the month.
02:21 While we do have Persona 3 Portable on modern hardware, it isn't the best way to experience
02:26 the original game.
02:30 With the original now being nearly 20 years old, some things have caused it to become
02:34 a bit out of date in terms of UI, mechanics, and difficulty.
02:39 Reload aims to bring Persona 3 in line with Persona 4 and 5 when it comes to presentation,
02:45 menu navigation, writing, mechanics, and of course, game balance.
02:48 We'll see whether the remake surpasses the original when it launches on February 2nd
02:53 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series XS, and PC.
03:01 Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered Starring Lara Croft
03:06 We really couldn't make this roll off the tongue better.
03:16 Tomb Raider Remastered is a much needed return to what Lara Croft was about.
03:21 Exploring temples, fighting dinosaurs, avoiding crazy traps, and just being a badass babe.
03:28 This faithfully remastered trilogy comes with all of the expansions and secret levels for
03:33 each game.
03:34 The problem is that the old games, while accessible on Steam, are borderline unplayable with their
03:39 tank controls.
03:40 It really makes it frustrating when some of the platforming demands almost pixel perfect
03:45 jumps.
03:46 This remaster of the first three Tomb Raider games will come with updated visuals as well
03:50 as every expansion made for each game.
03:52 The real question will be whether the controls are fixed.
03:55 We hope so, and we expect them to, but we'll have to wait and see what happens when it
04:00 comes to modern platforms on February 13th.
04:03 Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons Remake One of the biggest announcements at the 2023
04:09 Game Awards was this remake of Josef Fares' first game as director.
04:14 Brothers is about two kids who set out to find a cure for their deathly sick father.
04:18 What follows is a journey filled with wondrous environments, set pieces, and brilliant storytelling
04:23 that perfectly captures the hardships of losing a loved one.
04:32 While the game is playable through backwards compatibility on PS5 and Xbox XS, this remake
04:38 aims to redo the visuals, cutscenes, and just about everything else.
04:42 This is a game from 2013, after all, and technology has come a long way since then.
04:46 We'll see what changes were made when it launches February 28th.
04:50 Clock Tower The original Clock Tower is a bit of an oddball
05:00 in that it was never released outside of Japan.
05:02 The 1996 PS1 game did, and so did the second and third games, but for some reason, never
05:08 the original.
05:09 Well, WayForward Technologies is looking to change that.
05:13 Sometime in 2024, the studio will be releasing an enhanced version that celebrates this Super
05:18 Famicom classic.
05:20 Clock Tower will come with new cutscenes, an art gallery, and save states, all while
05:24 keeping the original look and feel of the game intact.
05:27 When it will be released is anyone's guess, all we know is that it's coming sometime
05:31 in 2024.
05:38 Luigi's Mansion 2 HD Much like Apollo Justice, Luigi lost a bit
05:51 of his legacy when the 3DS eShop shut down in March 2023.
05:56 Not only did we lose the 2018 remake of Luigi's Mansion, we also lost the second game in the
06:01 series.
06:02 Luckily, Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon is finding another life on Switch.
06:07 Nintendo is remastering the game with an HD port due out for a summer 2024 release.
06:18 Dark Moon is arguably the weakest entry in the series on account of its super linear
06:22 structure.
06:23 However, it boasts some great ideas fitting for the series, from its setup of multiple
06:27 haunted mansions to the ScareScraper multiplayer mode and much more.
06:32 Although, here's hoping Nintendo adds something to sweeten the package to earn our 60 bucks,
06:44 or however much they end up charging for it.
06:47 Lollipop Chainsaw Repop For the last couple of years, Grasshopper
06:59 Manufacture has been working on a remake of Lollipop Chainsaw.
07:03 Well, it was a remake, and now it's a remaster.
07:06 This is because a lot of players voiced concern about how much was going to be changed from
07:11 the original.
07:12 What's more concerning though, in addition to "we haven't seen the game yet" is
07:15 that neither Suda51 nor James Gunn are involved in the project.
07:21 Don't get us wrong, we're stoked to reunite with Juliet Starling to hack away at zombies
07:31 together again, we just hope that when it releases sometime in 2024, there aren't
07:36 any drastic changes to detract from the original vision.
07:46 Final Fantasy VII Rebirth What a way to kick off 2024.
07:58 As if February isn't going to be crowded enough, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be
08:02 eating up everyone's attention when it launches on February 28th as a timed exclusive for
08:07 PlayStation 5.
08:15 Continuing where 2020's Final Fantasy VII Remake left off, Rebirth will focus on the
08:20 second act of the 1997 PS1 original.
08:23 Cloud, Tifa, and company will set foot outside of Midgar and explore the Forgotten Capital
08:28 as they try to bring down Shinra.
08:37 The game will implement mechanics featured both in Remake and its Intergrade expansion,
08:42 and if those games are anything to go off of, you know this will be one of the first
08:46 amazing games in an already stacked first quarter.
08:49 Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door Paper Mario has long suffered an identity
09:02 crisis ever since Super Paper Mario on Wii.
09:05 Well, if you're one of those diehard fans of Thousand Year Door, Nintendo is finally
09:09 saying, "Fine, here you go, shut up now please."
09:19 The second game in the franchise is getting a remake for Switch.
09:23 From what we've seen in the one trailer shown to the public, Thousand Year Door is
09:26 taking full advantage of modern technology.
09:28 Well, in its own way, of course.
09:30 We're talking new lighting, new animations that lean further into the paper aesthetic,
09:35 and more detailed texture work than what was possible on GameCube.
09:39 Unfortunately, no release date was given, just a 2024 window, but perhaps we'll see
09:44 it in the fall?
