00:00Welcome to Mojo Plays, and today we're looking over the games released this year
00:12that wowed us with their graphical fidelity and overall stunning visuals.
00:16Before we begin, we publish new content all week long, so be sure to subscribe and ring
00:31the bell to get notified about our latest videos.
00:36Metroid Prime 4 Beyond
00:45For all the flack the Switch 2 has been getting, rightly or wrongly, we can all agree it's
00:50done wonders for giving iconic Nintendo characters the biggest glow ups they've had for the
00:54better part of a decade.
01:05This obviously applies to Samus, whose long sought sequel not only brought with it a welcome
01:09return to her particular brand of FPS combat, but an open world that made full use of the
01:15Switch 2's processing power.
01:17Traversing vast swathes of desert on a cybernetic motorcycle has never looked this good.
01:29Battlefield 6.
01:39Rising from the ashes of the abomination known as 2042, Battlefield 6 has been a breath of
01:45fresh air for long term fans.
01:47It might still have a few more hurdles to overcome to rid itself of the last of its bad habits,
01:52but what DICE have delivered here is about as good a return to form as fans could hope
01:56for, and that's doubly so in the visual department.
02:06The destructibility of its environment has been improved exponentially, adding another
02:11layer to immersion in firefights across the multiplayer.
02:15Hopefully it can stay the course because right now it's the kind of tactical FPS co-op
02:19what Bonanza fans have been waiting for, with the looks to match.
02:32F1 25.
02:41If there was one racing franchise that was in dire need of a tune-up, it was F1, and from
02:47the looks of things, they put their best pit crew on the job.
02:50Forza may dominate the space with their approach to driving through an open world while Mario
02:55and Sonic both competed this year for addictive gameplay, but F1 knocked it out of the park
03:00with the level of technical detail across the board.
03:03The weather, the lighting, the environmental textures, and of course, the cars themselves,
03:13all glistening with precision and authenticity.
03:16If you're after the definitive Formula One experience at home, this is shaping up to be
03:20your best option.
03:26Masterful victory!
03:27The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Remastered
03:33F**k them out!
03:39F**k!
03:41Bethesda games have long been praised for granting players far-reaching adventures with endless
03:45hours of customisation, world building, and ways to blow up your enemies.
03:50Crisp visuals devoid of bugs and glitches?
03:53Not so much, which was why this sudden shadow drop of this remaster was such a big deal for
03:58so many.
03:59The tweaks to gameplay were a godsend for sure, but what this second coming of Oblivion excelled
04:03at most of all was its recreation of Cyrodiil and all its provinces.
04:14The Unreal Engine worked overtime here, remaining faithful to the locales and character models
04:19of the past, only now with much needed texture upgrades and ray tracing.
04:23They may have added a sprint feature, but you'll definitely want to take your time walking
04:27through Oblivion's glades, dungeons, and cities to take in all the revamped goodness.
04:40Claire Obscure, Expedition 33.
04:54The canvas may be absurd in its landscapes, creature designs, and overall aesthetic, but
04:59don't let that fool you.
05:01Everything from the animations to the overworld is as pretty as a painting.
05:05Not that this game needs any more glazing, given how it dominates in just about every
05:09creative department, but the world design and how it's presented deserves its flowers
05:13and then some.
05:23Every biome is bursting with unique architecture, from the slow disintegration of Lumiere, the
05:29splendour of the spring meadows all the way to the gilded emptiness of the manor.
05:33It wholeheartedly delves into the uncanny valley, but every inch has been polished to perfection.
05:47Assassin's Creed Shadows.
05:50The beauty of historical Japan was evidently a major inspiration for several games this
06:05year, and one of the most stunning just so happened to stem from Assassin's Creed of all
06:09things.
06:10Say what you will about its legacy of faulty storylines and gameplay bloats, but when Ubisoft's design
06:15team get their claws into a period piece, its visuals tend to shine.
06:29And thanks to the effort of the updated Anvil engine, Shadows is their best looking game to date.
06:34The vistas are as plentiful as they are mesmerising, even in a Kyoto caught in the stranglehold of
06:40conflict.
06:41Given the amount of busy work both Naoe and Yasuke are forced to complete, you'll be spending
06:45an ample amount of time getting accommodated with the abundance of environments, giving you
06:50plenty of opportunity to relish in their detail.
06:52Metal Gear Solid Delta, Snake Eater.
07:12Kojima's magnum opus remains as strong as ever when it comes to the thrills and chills
07:16of this seminal espionage action game.
07:19And while the old animations have held up shockingly well, there's no denying Konami succeeded
07:24in giving it one hell of a makeover.
07:26It honestly might be the best thing they've done with the franchise in years.
07:41Naked Snake's mission to bring down the boss is rendered immaculately, the character animations
07:46are downright flawless, and the jungle has never felt more alive in the way that the mud and
07:51the foliage interact with the player.
07:53It's a brilliant companion piece that loses little of the original's lustre while maximising
07:58the presentation.
07:59This isn't over yet.
08:10Mafia, the old country.
08:12Well done.
08:14See?
08:15He didn't drop a thing.
08:17You owe me 50 lire.
08:18It wouldn't be a stretch to say that this game's look is molto bene.
08:23Good thing too, considering it's mostly made up of cutscenes and walking segments through
08:27the Italian countryside.
08:29Sicily has never looked more vibrant.
08:32From its vineyards to its estates, the old country channels its rustic beauty to its fullest,
08:37courtesy of the Unreal Engine.
08:38So much so, you can practically taste the grapes.
08:41Of course, its greatest accomplishment is in its character models.
08:52Their likeness and expressions practically seep through the screen, further selling the
08:57excellent performances.
08:58And if our truce is dishonoured again, I will repay that offence.
09:08Ghost of Yotei.
09:17Every frame of this game feels like a painting.
09:20You only need to stop moving, turn your camera a little, and you'll be met with one breathtaking
09:25sight after another.
09:26Atsu's road to revenge may be littered with countless bodies, but it's also filled with
09:31immense beauty.
09:32From the crimson leaves of the Ishikari Plains all the way to the snow swept serenity of
09:44Mount Yotei's peak, the graphical capabilities of the PS5 are pushed to their limits and then
09:50some.
09:51The results speak for themselves.
09:52Best prepare yourself to spam photo mode like crazy.
10:02Death Stranding 2.
10:03On the beach.
10:04What are you doing here?
10:05Because I'm free.
10:06I've been looking for you.
10:07What can we say?
10:08Kojima is a man with a vision, and come hell or high water he's going to make sure that
10:17vision comes to fruition, and look damn good in the process.
10:21Given how delivering goods and uniting an isolated world lurks at the heart of this game's
10:26modus operandi, having said world be lifeless and low res would be a major drawback.
10:31Thankfully, On the beach is outright remarkable when it comes to its visuals.
10:48The Decima Ancient not only allows Death Stranding to take on a post-apocalyptic Mexico and Australia
10:53to absolutely radiate with hyperrealism, but also its cast of characters.
10:59The smallest of Norman Reedus' mannerisms are captured and replicated with such a high
11:04level of detail, it's downright jaw dropping.
11:18Which game blew you away with its graphics?
