00:02 Time for the preseason Ben's top ten.
00:05 We start at number ten and work our way up to the number one team in the country.
00:10 So at tenth overall, Kev, I don't think you're going to be yelling here.
00:14 The Notre Dame fighting Irish.
00:16 I have Marcus Freeman and his Irish ranked tenth overall entering year number two,
00:22 fully at the helm in South Bend.
00:25 Number nine in the country, Michael Pettis Jr.,
00:28 Caelan DeBoer in one of the highest flying offenses in college football through
00:32 the air, the Washington Huskies.
00:34 And then at number eight, a team with a ton of optimism, finally in Tallahassee,
00:40 entering this year once again with expectation, the Florida State Seminoles.
00:44 A winning record for the first time since 2017, last year in 2022.
00:50 Mike Norvell got the Noles to ten wins, double digits for the first time since 2016.
00:56 So eight through ten, Florida State, Washington, Notre Dame.
01:00 Kevin Walsh, React.
01:01 >> So here's the thing, you never know who is necessarily left out.
01:08 And I might ask a question about that in a moment.
01:10 But I can almost assure you that I will feel as if Florida State is not being
01:16 given enough credit as we are getting set for this season.
01:21 I feel as if I went to this school.
01:23 I love this football team.
01:25 I mean, I absolutely adore it.
01:27 Jordan Travis, here's the thing, man.
01:29 Pull up a Jordan Travis highlight tape, watch Harold Perkins Jr.
01:32 send him into outer space, and yet he still drops an absolute dime in the bucket.
01:37 Turn the tape off and be like, yeah, I'm gonna need a 14 to 1 Jordan Travis
01:40 Heisman ticket.
01:41 There's loaded weapons on offense, and their defense,
01:45 look, I don't wanna be sacrilegious here.
01:47 But it's the tier below whatever Georgia is, which is probably their own planet.
01:52 And you can see it on the front line there.
01:54 Jared Verse and Patrick, I just, I love that FSU football team, BSS.
01:59 And unless Clemson's gonna be outside of your top ten,
02:02 which I don't think they will be, then I think you've got the wrong ACC team.
02:07 Check it in.
02:08 >> So that's actually where we disagree.
02:11 Clemson right now is number 11.
02:13 We talked about our college football- >> Clemson is 11, okay.
02:16 >> Entering this season.
02:17 It is interesting for me.
02:18 This is a preseason ranking.
02:20 I do things a little bit differently than the Associated Press,
02:23 where I take expectation and projection.
02:26 In our business, we call that the odds and the prices, but also reward for
02:30 a season to go.
02:32 And although Clemson did finish with 11 wins in the ACC title,
02:36 I would have the Tigers at ten and a half.
02:38 It doesn't mean it disparages Clemson from where I see them at the end of the year.
02:43 And pretty early on, I think the Tigers will crack Ben's top ten.
02:46 But to begin, Clemson on the outside.
02:49 That is one of the main differences from my top ten in the AP poll.
02:53 I also have Texas and Tennessee outside the top ten.
02:57 I would have Texas maybe outside my top 15, but that's a conversation-
03:00 >> You hate Texas this year.
03:02 >> For a different day.
03:03 My God, I think the over expectation in Austin is rising once again.
03:09 I think the conversation needs to go from is Texas back to was Texas
03:14 even there for years outside of Vince Young.
03:17 There are so many issues defensively with the Longhorns.
03:21 I believe in Quinn Ewers.
03:23 I believe in Xavier Worthy.
03:25 But I don't think Texas wins double digit games.
03:27 I don't think Texas wins the Big 12 in the margin of error after week number two
03:32 in Tuscaloosa makes it that much tighter cab for the Longhorns to even have
03:36 an attempt at cracking the college football playoff.
03:39 >> I think Texas is really good.
03:44 I think they're the class of the Big 12.
03:46 But here's the thing.
03:47 You're also talking to someone who fought that last season and
03:50 fought that throughout the season and
03:53 still feels like they were the best damn team in the Big 12 last year.
03:57 Despite the fact they didn't even play in the conference title game.
04:00 The thing though, that Bama game does matter a ton when we talk about college
04:04 football playoff and how good of a chance they actually have to make it.
