00:00Detroit Lions have traded David Montgomery.
00:03I'm amazed.
00:03It's only a fifth-round pick.
00:06How about that?
00:06Yeah, to who?
00:09I just saw.
00:10Was it the Titans?
00:11I was taking a look at it.
00:13No, no, no.
00:13It's the Texans.
00:14Ah, the Texans.
00:15I got the T right.
00:16I got it wrong.
00:17I took it off my screen.
00:19I like that trade for the Texans immediately.
00:22They had no run game last year.
00:23Right, they needed a run game.
00:24Fifth-round pick?
00:25I thought you'd get more for Dave Montgomery.
00:27Tough part is.
00:27I know Gibbs' guy got the big wood coming in this year.
00:30And I think that's why it's only a fifth.
00:32NFL, because of the hard cap and the way it works is,
00:35they know, okay, well, you've got to take a fifth
00:38or we wait until you inevitably have to cut him
00:40because you can't afford him.
00:41Yeah.
00:41Because he's got two years left on his deal.
00:43So I think a fifth is good considering if this got to June,
00:47they can't afford him.
00:49Yeah, that's true.
00:50And it's very rare to have a two-headed monster,
00:52even in Seattle, take a look at what's happening in Seattle.
00:54You can't keep it together long term.
00:55The Super MVP is gone.
00:56I know the Giants have a lot of interest in him.
00:59But it's interesting that two running backs typically don't work.
01:02Now, Seattle had great success with it.
01:04I thought Detroit, frankly, with Gibbs and Montgomery,
01:07had great success with it.
01:09But now both guys get to be the man.
01:11Gibbs, of course, gets that huge contract.
01:13So Montgomery becomes expendable.
01:16The Houston Texans obviously need a star running back
01:19to help that offense out.
01:20Yeah.
01:20Because that's been their problem.
01:21They cannot run the ball.
01:23Their offensive line also stinks.
01:24Apparently, they're going to address that as well.
01:26But give C.J. Stroud a running game,
01:28and maybe C.J. Stroud rediscovers what he was as a rookie.
01:32Yeah.
01:32Because it's gone slowly and then very quickly downhill
01:35for C.J. Stroud performance-wise.
01:37But I think a good move for the Texans.
01:40I don't quite get it, other than money,
01:42from the Detroit Lions.
01:44And that's a team that desperately has to get back
01:46into the playoffs next year.
