Next week’s weather: More rain and lower temperatures forecast for the coming days

Will we see temperatures like those experienced across Europe? Well next week’s weather is looking to bring with it a drop in temperatures as well as some rainfall across the UK, according to experts at the Met Office.

00:00 This is a summary of what the various different computer models are suggesting for the middle

00:05 of next week. Details will vary in terms of timings, amounts of rain, where the rain will

00:10 affect. But the basic summary is clear. We've got low pressure across Scotland. We've got

00:15 this strong westerly airflow. We've got spells of rain arriving from the west. And the numbers

00:21 here essentially reflect the temperature anomaly. So one to two degrees below average for the

00:27 time of year. No surprise given the wind and the rain. But it's not going to be a complete

00:34 washout. More on that in a moment. Let's just take a look at those temperatures, however.

00:39 You can see the downward trend for Southampton, for example. 25 the middle of this week with

00:44 some sunny spells. But then by the weekend, with the wet and windy weather that we're

00:50 going to see at the weekend, it's really going to be below average. 18 Celsius.
