00:00Hello, some quite lively winds to start this weekend and then the temperatures start to rise,
00:06going to get warmer, particularly as we head into it next week. But this is the weekend forecast,
00:10so let's focus in on Saturday and Sunday. Starting with the chart for Friday, low pressure systems
00:16drifting to the north of the UK and it's this weather front that's going to be the main feature
00:20of Saturday's weather, trying to push its way southwards, but yeah, kind of grinding to a halt
00:25and fizzling out as it does so. So making for a cloudy start through parts of Wales and northern
00:30England and then we'll see some of that rain trickling its way southwards. But as always with
00:34these weather fronts, as they kind of storm, there's always a bit more uncertainty and it may well
00:39generate a bit more rain through the course of the afternoon over parts of South Wales and
00:43southwest England. Further north, things a bit more straightforward. We've got a brisk westerly
00:46winds, quite lively, quite gusty, particularly in western Scotland and that will bring in lots of
00:51showers here through the day. But with a westerly wind, eastern Scotland gets a bit of shelter,
00:56largely dry here and largely fine too for much of northern England and Northern Ireland.
01:00Now in the southeast and east Anglia, that weather front doesn't really arrive. So here,
01:06because remember it's a cold front, still got the warm air. So with a bit of sunshine, we could get
01:10those temperatures up to 22, maybe even 23 degrees. One of those kind of weird days where it's quite
01:15gusty, but actually quite a warm wind blowing. And further north though, in the cooler air, with those
01:21frequent showers, we're only at 14 or 15 Celsius in western Scotland. So quite a contrast in the
01:25feel of the day. And that's because that weather front is still around. As I say, with these waving
01:31weather fronts, there's always a bit of uncertainty about when they clear, but it could be quite a damp
01:35end to Saturday over southwest England. Parts of South Wales could be quite misty and murky also.
01:40Further north, we'll keep the showers coming in. Of course, Scotland, particularly north of the
01:45central belt. And again, lots of them in the west. But in this zone, between the weather front and the
01:50showers, a lot of dry weather. That weather front though, is still around through Saturday night,
01:54continuing to head its way southwards. High pressure is trying to build across it. That's
01:59kind of ringing out the weather front. And so should mean that things turn drier during the
02:04course of Saturday night. And then actually, we've got a little bump, a little ridge of high
02:08pressure. So most places are going to have a fine day on Sunday. But notice there's another weather
02:12front waiting in the wings. And that will bring cloud and increasingly some rain across initially the
02:18Republic of Ireland and then towards Northern Ireland for the afternoon. That weather front should have
02:23cleared the south, but may well still be bringing cloud and a little rain and drizzle to the
02:27Channel Isles. Maybe the Isles are silly. Still some showers in Northern Scotland, but not as many as on
02:33Saturday. And certainly for much of Central Scotland, Northern England, and a good part of England and Wales.
02:38It's going to be a dry day. We'll see increasing cloud in Western areas. The winds won't be as strong
02:43on
02:44Sunday. And we'll still have that relatively mild air across the south. So again, with some sunshine, we could easily
02:49see
02:49those temperatures back up over 20 degrees. But again, in Western Scotland, 14, 15. But it should be a
02:55drier day here. And the winds will be lighter as well. The warmer air is going to continue to waft
