00:00Welcome along to your weekend weather update. Temperatures just dropping off
00:04by a few degrees this weekend. There'll still be plenty of sunshine and for those
00:08of you after rain, well you'll still be disappointed. A lot of dry weather around
00:13thanks to this chunky area of high pressure just sitting out to the west.
00:18Now the winds around high pressure go clockwise so they'll be feeding down
00:22across the UK from the north. That is why things are cooling off just a little bit
00:27over the next couple of days. Those northerly breezes have been bringing
00:31quite a bit of cloud in from the North Sea at times and we'll continue to see
00:35some of that down the east side and the cloud thicken up for a little bit of
00:38drizzly rain at times over northern Scotland. Maybe the odd shower
00:42developing elsewhere perhaps over parts of northwest England around lunchtime
00:46and then even further south your parts of Wales, southwest England, the possibility
00:51of one or two showers here and there. But I say if you're after rain it's not going
00:56to amount to very much and most places won't see those showers. Most places will
01:00just stay dry. We will see more clouds spilling in as we go through the day so
01:04the sky is more grey than blue for the afternoon but still some decent spells of
01:08sunshine on the west coast of Scotland, the south coast of Wales and much of
01:12southern England seeing sunny spells throughout the day. That's where we'll see
01:15the top temperatures. Should still get into the mid-20s here but those numbers
01:21are quite a bit down on what we've been seeing of late and notice along the east coast
01:26again only high teens in places and for parts of Northern Ireland and western Scotland
01:3018-19 that's quite a bit cooler than it is on Thursday at the time of recording. This
01:38map is showing the temperatures on Saturday compared to Thursday's values and you can
01:43see parts of the west of Northern Ireland says nine degrees lower and many places three
01:49to five degrees lower. Notice the east coast is pretty similar to Thursday's temperatures and parts
01:54of the south coast of Cornwall also because seeing sea breezes on Thursday that northerly
01:59breeze with some sunshine should bring temperatures back into the 20s once more. Still the odd
02:04shower over parts of Wales, perhaps the Midlands, southwest England through Saturday evening but most
02:09having a fine Saturday evening if you're heading out so that northerly breeze will continue to
02:15feed some cloud along the east coast. As the winds ease inland and with clear skies it'll actually turn
02:21quite chilly on Saturday night. Temperatures widely down to single figures in rural spots, generally
02:2711 or 12 Celsius in towns and cities but some spots across Scotland will be well down into single
02:33digits. So quite a fresh start to Sunday. There should be quite a bit of sunshine around on Sunday as
02:39well
02:39because our high hasn't shifted anywhere. It's a big high, it's hard to move it, it just if anything
02:44ambles a little closer to the UK. Still then our breeze will be coming down from the north but generally
02:51the wind's a
02:51little bit lighter. We could still see a bit of cloud at times lapping into these eastern counties
02:56of England and later on thickening cloud arriving across the northern and the western isles. But most
03:01places dry, bright, light winds, plenty of sunshine and temperatures on Sunday similar to Saturday's
03:08values. Perhaps a degree or so higher again so more widely into the low maybe mid-20s across the south.
03:15But again if you've got that breeze off the North Sea that will feel a little bit fresher. So things
03:20cooling
03:20off a touch at least for a time we may see temperatures starting to rise again as we
03:25go into next week. For more details on that you want to keep across the forecast and the best way
