Episode 5. On today's interview of The Brian Nichols Show, I'm joined by Richard Blank (CEO of Costa Rica's Call Center) who give us some real, authentic means to enhance the sales experience for both the prospect AND the salesman.

The Brian Nichols Show Episode 518 features Richard Blank, CEO of Costa Rica's Call Center, discussing how his background as an old-school retro gamer shapes and enhances the modern sales experience.

The Core Concept: Retro Gaming Meets Sales

Richard Blank uses his obsession with 1970s and 1980s classic arcade games and pinball machines—which he actively collects and houses directly inside his call center—as a foundation for building authentic connections in business. Instead of traditional, aggressive sales techniques, the episode focuses on human-centric strategies:

Meeting People Where They Are: Applying the basic fundamentals of sales and marketing to truly understand the prospects' needs rather than just trying to win an argument.
The Gamification of Soft Skills: Treating the sales process with the patience, tactical planning, and engagement of retro gaming to enhance the experience for both the consumer and the salesperson.
Company Culture: Building an environment where employees genuinely enjoy their workspace, fostering retention and better customer service.

00:00to be more self-reliant and self-confident, to show empathy if you're a CEO of a company,
00:05and also if you have certain dreams, I think you should follow them through so you can look at
00:08yourself in the mirror every day. I was very true to my 18-year-old self in Philadelphia that started
00:14off learning Spanish, and look where I am today. There might be some naysayers and great believers
00:19out there, and these are usually the people that love you the most. They care about you,
00:23but as you mentioned, their N-O means that they don't K-N-O-W enough about your vision quest,
00:30about your spiritual journey, and so as I say before, I have nothing to prove to anybody. It's
00:36really about proving it to myself, and so you're really looking at a man that did this the hard
00:42way, not the easy way, and so if anything I could share with your audience is to hang in there.
00:47Don't quit and go the distance.
