Google's new Fitbit Edge costs $179.99, and the first big reviews landed on October 26, 2026. Here is what reviewers love and what they hate. ⌚
LOVE: PCMag gave it 4 out of 5 and its Editors' Choice, calling it the one to beat if you want a traditional fitness tracker with a screen. Engadget says Google "strikes the right balance", with a slim design that pairs with Android and iPhone. PCMag, WIRED and Android Authority all praise the user-replaceable battery, and Engadget and 9to5Google welcome a real physical side button.
HATE: there is no NFC, so no tap-to-pay (WIRED calls that a regression versus the Charge 6). Android Authority says the Edge logged a 10K run as 6.25 miles while Strava and an Amazfit watch logged 6.42, and calls it fairly overpriced. 9to5Google found the interface "incredibly slow" and notifications unreliable during testing (Google told 9to5Google an app update will address notifications). Engadget got just over two days per charge with the always-on display on, versus Google's claim of up to seven days.
Google says the Fitbit Edge is on shelves from October 27, 2026.
