00:00and I'm out to live in 30 years now and which I started it with in 1996 and just
00:07where the pitch ended when you came in all that is all has been done since that
00:12time then. If you observe the road has aggregate all the way up okay so which means
00:20you had it all rolled there was a hundred barrels of tar under a mango tree
00:26and coming in there to finish the road and it did disappear and from since that
00:32you will have been washing away. Taxis have now refused to traverse the area
00:37leaving some residents who have no available transport having to walk. The condition
00:43they would know men who drive in taxi will take the risk to come up here to carry no
00:50to say rather go on the main ridge you know rather go somewhere else with the vehicle because this road
00:56is not fit for taxi to drive on. Mr Alexander said before area representative Ian Pollard
01:02fell ill requests were made through him to have their road rules addressed. I make one
01:09or two reports to the office you know asking Mr Pollard concern about what he could do to help
01:16the police situation and he could come and take a look at it but nothing had been done.
01:23Pensioner Jackson said residents in the area were visited before the January 12 to THA election by
01:29members of the sitting THA. Today however they feel forgotten. The people who wore t-shirts and flags
01:39supported and after the election is finished you don't get any service at all. So during the election period
01:44you were visited? No yes yes before prior to the election they came up on the road here Whitey was
01:50the man in charge. When contacted Public Infrastructure and Transportation Secretary Natisha Charles-Panton
01:56told the TV6 News she is pleading with residents to exercise patience. She said quote we understand the
02:04concerns raised by the residents of Easterfield Road Mason Hall and we recognize the importance of
02:10having proper road access especially for all elderly residents and families who use the road every day.
02:17Since taking up this mandate in March 2026 improving Tobago's road network has been one of my priorities
02:25within the resources available to us the division is doing everything in its power to ensure that roads
02:33across the island get the attention they need. The reality is that there are several roads across Tobago
02:40requiring attention and while we would like to address them all at once we have to carefully prioritize
