12:56comments that's being made by a DMK's councillor. We need to wait and watch if there will be
13:01a regret or an apology from her front. And what action will the Chennai police really take against
13:06her is something to be watched out for.
13:13Totally understand. The important aspect here it looks like be it DMK, AIADMK, NTK, BJP or
13:20any other party, congress or any other party, netas apparently need situational awareness to
13:25make sure that they actually take responsibility for whatever happening in that particular stage.
13:31Moving on, we have another breaking.
13:42Nam Tamidarkachi candidate Kartika has been arrested by the Tamil Nadu police. Nam Tamidarkachi
13:46is the office bearer and the candidate for Dharapuram Kartika had a kind of fiery campaign
13:52when he came to Dharapuram and she very clearly said that she was fighting against corruption,
13:56any form of corruption. That's why she said she was fighting against all the parties including
14:00TVK and the present MLA Satyabama from Dharapuram as well. However, on that particular day when
14:06the Chief Minister Vijay was present at Dharapuram for a road show, Kartika and her comrades over
14:11there held a road row claiming that they were not given passage and such and that has turned
14:17out to be a huge issue. Case was filed on that particular day almost two weeks before and now
14:22she has been arrested and that too her like companions claim that it was absolutely shocking
14:26with the way the police have behaved and the way she and like three more people were arrested
14:32today and also Seema, the leader of Nam Tamidarkachi has condemned this calling the
14:37more unspeakable, despicable at the same time MK Stalin, the DMK president also claims that
14:42this is highly condemnable the way the police have acted on this particular matter. Srinivas,
14:47her companion has also spoken to India today and here's what he had to say.

15:09in the morning arresting her and what is the reason behind this arrest now?
15:17In fact, I had a word with Mr. Srinivas who is a friend of Kartika and her husband and what
15:21he told me was that
15:22the police arrived at their doorstep early in the morning at around 5-5.30. According to him,
15:29they jumped over the compound wall is what he says and then entered their house and then arrested them early
15:34in the morning.
15:35Even Kartika in a video that has now gone viral, being picked away by the police, she says that
15:40you have picked me up early in the morning at 5.30 a.m. when all of us were sleeping,
15:44you've threatened my family members.

15:51Why did you have to barge into my house early in the morning and pick me up and arrest me

15:59That's the kind of questions that Kartika is posing to the police. All of it has been recorded on camera.
16:05She's right now in Dharapuram police station along with her husband. Both of them have been picked up by the
16:10Dharapuram police.
16:11And what the NTK lawyer says is that they have two kids, two girl children. Both of them have not
16:18been informed about this arrest.
16:20What's the reason for this arrest? There's no clarity as yet that's been given by the police to the family
16:25members.
16:26But what we are picking up through our sources is that when Chief Minister Vijay was in Dharapuram for by
16:31-election campaign,
16:32she held a road-roco protest of sorts. That is when an FIR was registered against her.
16:38And today is when the arrest has happened. But the larger question remains, why this much time for the arrest?
16:43The by-election results came out on October 9th and 10 days have passed. Why the delay? Why could not
16:49have the arrest have been made earlier?
16:51Why the delay in registering FIR and the arrest is the big question that still remains to be answered.
16:57And another point is that why pick up the accused in the manner that she was picked up today, early
17:03in the morning,
17:03barging into her house when all of her family members were there with absolutely no intimation, no clarity given.
17:10Why was this treatment being meted out to Kartika is what all her family members are asking.
17:16A lot of questions in this case remains to be answered by Tamil Nadu police.
17:21But M.K. Stalin, the former Chief Minister, has condemned the way in which Kartika was picked up by Dharapuram
17:27police.
17:27He has also demanded for immediate release of Kartika and her husband, including.
17:32N.T.K. Chief Seaman has also condemned this incident, calling this government as a fascist, you know, sort of
17:38a government that has picked up Kartika in the manner that they have done this morning.
