On this Special Report, anchor Sneha Mordani tracks Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mega rally in Chennai as he kicks off the NDA's election campaign in Tamil Nadu. The Prime Minister, who visited Kerala earlier in the day, hit out at the ruling DMK, stating, 'Tamil Nadu has decided it's time to bid farewell to the corrupt DMK government.' The report highlights the strengthening of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) with the presence of key leaders like Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS), T.T.V. Dhinakaran, and PMK’s Anbumani Ramadoss on a single stage. Reporters Akshita Nandagopal, Apoorva, and Anagha provide ground updates on the political significance of this 'Mahagathbandhan' and the show of solidarity between the BJP and AIADMK. The programme explores the evolving political dynamics in the poll-bound state, focusing on the NDA's governance record and its strategy to challenge the DMK-Congress alliance through regional partnerships.

00:10campaign which is being kick-started by prime minister narendra bodhi in chennai
00:28today tamilnadu is poll-bound and ahead of elections we've seen the nda just larger in
00:34terms of smaller parties now joining the nda fold on stage we did see and also pmk's
00:41and womani ramados was there as well ttp dhinakaran is the latest entrant to the nda and this gives an
00:48india firmer shape just ahead of elections in the state of tamilnadu the prime minister is there he's
00:56just going to be addressing the workers who've gathered there today he has hit out at the dmk
01:02saying that the state is ready to bid farewell to the corrupt dmk is what the prime minister said
01:08with the chief minister and head of dmk mk is stalin hitting back at the prime minister
01:14launching of the nda campaign in tamilnadu is what we're seeing at this point in time
01:20the prime minister has spoken about the nda's governance record said it's time to bid goodbye to
01:26the dmk he's tweeted about this as well earlier today he said tamilnadu is with the nda i will be
01:34joining nda leaders of the rally in madhu randhankam later today tamilnadu has decided it's time to bid
01:42farewell to the corrupt dmk government he spoke about the nda's governance track record and has
01:50spoken about commitment to regional aspirations as well i'm going to go straight across to akshita
01:58nand gopal for more details on that story tracking that big story for us actually this is the prime
02:04minister now sounding the poll bugle in the state of tamilnadu ahead of the visit of course you've seen
02:09some crucial alliances take shape and the nda really firming up in that sense that's right uh
02:15sneha very very crucial rally for the nda you know the bjp is on an overdrive trying to bring in as many
02:21allies as they can for this very rally for this event and you see the poster that's put up of
02:26prime minister modi on one side and eps on the other the messaging is exactly what piyush goyal said it
02:31would be uh modi in the center and eps in tamilnadu but important to highlight here that one of the
02:37other big headlines that emerged from this rally is the presence of edipati parniswamy and ttv dhinakaran
02:42for the very first time on the same stage they're not seated together interestingly to prime minister
02:47modi's right is eps and to his left is ttv dhinakaran but the idea of the nda is to send out a message
02:53of solidarity of strength as well there was a lot of talk that many other parties the likes of dmdk will
02:59also be brought on board but it looks like the alliance deal hasn't really been broken through yet
03:04but you see the images there the camaraderie between eps and prime minister modi very important
03:10to highlight here and you know these images tell a story of how the bjp and aiedmk are working together
03:16to do everything they can to make the nda stronger in tamirnadu there's been clear endorsement from
03:22home minister amit shah previously for eps saying that it is under eps's leadership under the aiedmk's
03:27leadership that the nda is going to fight this election now expect that same endorsement from prime
03:33minister modi telling in the pictures but also when he speaks on stage also you know akshita talk
03:39to us a little about what is expected i'll just come back to you in a moment from now apurva is
03:44also joining us for the very latest on that story from ground zero at this point in time apurva uh also
03:50talk to us a little about what is expected vis-a-vis the prime minister's zaitneri earlier we saw him in
03:56kerala today now in chennai both kerala and tamil duanadu poll-bound states and of course a series of
04:02development projects were lined up for kerala what's expected as far as tamil duan is concerned
04:09where in fact sneha is going to be a very interesting uh you know a list of people who
04:15will be on the dais there just from the dignitaries that you can see initially you also see how the top
04:20nda alliance leaders have joined prime minister modi here in that dais in fact just from the crowds of
04:28public as well you can see how from near and far bjp caddles as well as supporters have joined here
04:34to catch a glimpse of prime minister modi in fact it is going to be an interesting speech that will
04:39take place here today this you know prime minister modi essentially will be flagging of bjp's election
04:46campaigning for tamindadu elections ahead of the state going for elections in just two to three months and
04:52uh you know to see edapadi ke palin swami titi within a current and several other senior leaders
04:57and bumani uh as well uh you know pmk chief there all of them going ahead and taking the dais there
05:04along with prime minister modi definitely shows a strong you know support and a you know a show of
05:11symbol there uh for the people saying that the nda is strong and the nda has arrived here in tamindadu
05:18that's right the nda is strong and the nda has arrived and the strategy is uh extremely clear
05:24uh you have your allies and you have strengthened uh the nda the alliance personally by bringing in
05:31these smaller parties the message uh anaga really is that uh we have just so many political parties in
05:38the state of tamilnadu coming in together so these are the smaller parties in the nda as constituents and
05:43then we have this versus the dmk congress alliance isn't it
05:53well in fact sneha if you can hear me i'm reporting from a bit outside the venue where prime minister
05:59has arrived a lot of carders from you know who are supporting the bjp and admk have started arriving
06:06like my camera person danny is showing you so the crowd over here is rooting for
06:24that's the kind of crowd pull that you're seeing over here
06:26very interesting because uh you know it is eps indeed who is heading the states
06:45and all the people who have come here are rooting for a for a party's leadership
06:50in fact not just eps a lot of carder from anbu mani ramdas's party pm ktt within a current party
06:57they've also turned up in huge numbers over here remember we are reporting from you know
07:02approximately the northern section of tamirnadu where the pmk stronghound is pretty high and we
07:07are talking about the vanyar subsect particularly and since this is from the northern part of tamirnadu
07:14very close to chengil pet district the madura antikam area this shows the kind of crowd pull that
07:19interestingly pmk has also been able to gather a lot of women like you can see on your screen have
07:25also gathered in large numbers rooting for yet a party party swami's victory in fact a lot of traffic
07:32has also been halted given the fact that there is going to be a lot of security restrictions given
07:37the fact that the prime minister has arrived over here and remember what's special about today's event
07:41is that today is the first such major public event that all the alliance partners of the
07:48india have begun today we have the bjp admk pmk and the ammk the four member party uh this is the first
07:57such mahagat bandhan of sorts alliance that's happening today in madurantakam in the northern
08:02part of tamirnadu very very close to chennai and this location was deliberately chosen so that it's
08:08pretty close to chennai and all the alliance leaders could easily travel here this whole district has been
08:13decked up with posters colorful flags uh songs about lord murugand who's you know who is a tamil
08:19deity so that's the kind of welcoming that we are seeing for prime minister modi who's already arrived
08:23here in madurantakam for the event to start that's right the prime minister has already arrived we have
08:30images of the prime minister they're interacting with uh edipati pelensami interesting that the nba has
08:36already apurva declared its face for the elections saying that eps is going to be leading this alliance
08:44in that sense isn't it this time around but that's right neha in fact if you can just uh you know listen
08:51to whatever my colleague hanaga has talked about you know most of the cadders who had come there have
08:57come here for edipati kepala swami let's you know put the facts down straight aiadmk's tall leader there
09:04eps who is currently in the india alliance there you know the perception for the cadders here the
09:09perception for the leaders here is that the the chief ministerial candidate for the nda will be
09:15edipati kepala swami and that's something that the nda cannot uh you know rule out and most importantly
09:21you know they have other smaller parties who have also joined in fact this is the first time in almost
09:26after several years that edipati kepala swami and ttv dhinakaran are going ahead uh and sharing a
09:34stage in fact we're also getting to learn that you know uh pmk's chief there anba money has also
09:41also joined the aiadmk's nda alliance here all of these small parties going ahead and joining together
09:47you know it kind of gives a bold face for the nda now earlier on we have seen undoubtedly it's the nda
09:55really firming up and becoming larger in that sense in the state of tamiladu i'm going to leave
09:59it at that for the moment apurva anaga and my colleague akshat are getting in those details
10:03and their perspective on that story
