00:00We're joining you live from Chennai, getting you all the updates here on what's happening as far as the Vijay
00:05Sarkar is concerned.
00:07Sarkar wordplay because he's got a film, very famous film called Sarkar.
00:11But will Vijay Sarkar become a reality in Tamil Nadu anytime soon?
00:15Here's what we're hearing. It's crucial of course to get the VCK and left on board.
00:19And now the confirmation for the first time on India today that the left has said CPI and CPM will
00:26decide by tomorrow night.
00:28But that's when the final decision will be conveyed across.
00:31In which case by tomorrow we could see a yes or a no going Vijay Sarkar and so clarity really
00:38for Vijay on whether he'll get that support from VCK and CPI.
00:41But what's very clear is that the left and VCK will all go together.
00:45There's no way that that will break up.
00:47So if the left decides that they're going to be a part of the alliance, part of the TVK block,
00:52then so will the VCK.
00:54But tomorrow evening is when we're hearing that we'll get that final decision.
00:58We're going to play out for you the conversation that my colleague Anagar had with Shanmugam, the representative of the
01:04left of the CPI.
01:05But Anagar to you first as we get ready with that conversation.
01:09The left seems to suggest that they need another 24 hours to decide.
01:12So what really was decided in the meeting with Stalin? What was conveyed to Stalin?
01:21In fact, Shanmugam who just had a word with us has confirmed that the meeting will happen tomorrow.
01:28And it's tomorrow night that the final confirmation will come.
01:31But what we do also have a clarity on is the fact that the VCK and the left parties will
01:36travel together wherever they go.
01:38Whether they decide to stick on with the DMK or whether they have decided to join hands with the TVK,
01:44the three parties are going to fight this out together and they'll jointly take a decision.
01:48This morning, Shanmugam and Tirumavallavan also had a meeting with Stalin, his son Udenidi and sister Kanimuri as well.
01:56It was a very crucial meeting at that.
01:59Shanmugam has briefed to the DMK leaders about the offer that was made by Vijay.
02:04They've all been apprised of it.
02:06And one thing is very certain, all these three parties want to make sure that if at all they quit
02:11the DMK camp,
02:12they don't want to do it on a bad blood.
02:14They saw how Congress rubbed the DMK on a wrong way and they don't want to be repeating the same
02:20mistake.
02:20And therefore, cordial talks were held.
02:22Opinion of Stalin was sought by these three parties about what will happen if at all they went ahead and
02:29sided with Vijay.
02:31So if at all the breakaway happens, let's be very clear, it's going to be on a very cordial note
02:36with DMK.
02:36The three parties are very sure that they don't want any sort of bad blood or they don't want to
02:41burn bridges with DMK.
02:43And they're very sure of that.
02:44And that explains the meeting that happened this morning.
02:47So by tomorrow night, we'll get a final confirmation possibly from these three parties about whether they have said yes
02:53to Vijay or if they're going to stick on to DMK.
03:00No, but what's cordial, Ananda, if they're leaving the DMK, how can it be a cordial breakup that can actually
03:06happen?
03:07Because we are getting some information that the DMK isn't really pushing hard for the allies to stay with them,
03:12which by itself doesn't make sense.
03:14Why is the DMK saying if you want to leave us, go ahead and leave us?
03:18Is the DMK and is Stalin therefore completely dejected by the law so much so that they're saying whoever wants
03:23to go with Vijay can go ahead?
03:29Not really.
03:30In fact, Stalin is quite sure that he will sit in the opposition.
03:33There is no plan as of now to sort of, you know, to sort of roll down the TVK's possible
03:39governance.
03:40There is no plan as of now.
03:41Stalin is quite sure about forming an opposition at the moment.
03:44In fact, the only bad blood was with Congress.
03:48And therefore, Stalin has, you know, in fact, to an interview with a local daily has stated that let Vijay
03:55form the government.
03:56And that means that what my sources have told us is that discussions are underway with the DMK leaders.
04:02In fact, some of the second rung leadership that I spoke to also said that they're mentally prepared for a
04:06possible breakaway from the other three parties.
04:09And if that happens, they're all people with very high political acumen.
04:13They will make sure that they don't really burn bridges with DMK.
04:17Because even tomorrow, let's say if Vijay goes back to his acting career, these three parties cannot survive in Tamil
04:23Nadu without the help of DMK.
04:25And therefore, they will have a backup set.
04:27Even if they do side with TVK, they'll make sure that their relationship with Stalin, their relationship with DMK remains
04:34intact.
04:35And that explains why an emergency huddle was called this morning along with Stalin to sort of have this cordial
04:42discussion.
04:42So even if the left parties and the VCK do go with Vijay, let's be very sure.
04:48It will be with the knowledge of Stalin.
04:50It will be with these parties having a good relationship with Stalin.
04:54That, you know, this relationship, make no mistake, is going to continue.
05:00Okay.
05:01Okay, I like how you say, Hanaka, that if he continues into acting, I think that's a foregone conclusion now
05:08that Vijay has stepped into politics.
05:09He's won.
05:10He's the chief minister, the Jananai again, if you will, considering we're talking about his films.
05:15But, Hanaka, stay with me.
05:16Let's play out the conversation that Hanaka had with Shanmugam, who has confirmed, essentially, that the left will take a
05:21decision by tomorrow evening.
05:53What was the kind of conversation that went with these leaders?
05:57Are they okay, sir, with you joining TVK?
05:59No, no, no.
06:00We are discussing current political situation with our national progressive alliance.
06:11Progressive alliance leader, M.K. Stalin, discussing about the current political situation.
06:18Vijay had given you an offer.
06:20He had written you a letter.
06:22Can you take us through the letter?
06:23So, what did he exactly ask you?
06:25We will discuss tomorrow our state committee meeting here.
06:29So, we will discuss that matter also in the state committee.
06:37Abraham Sikorsky.
06:41Vijay wants our support from the newly government.
06:46Heather.
06:47And are you considering, sir?
06:49Or are you still yet to hold a meeting?
06:51What did Stalin tell you, sir, about this?
06:54We don't discuss with this letter, with Stalin. He is asking to our party, so we will decide.
07:05Okay, by when can we expect this? Because, sir, Vijay has fallen short of majority and your support is very
07:11important.
07:11It's paramount in order to form the government and that's the only reason why there is a delay in the
07:16swearing in ceremony.
07:17So, your verdict will actually have a lot of weight. So, what is your take on that, sir? Which way
07:22are you inclined?
07:23Without a state committee concern, I don't have any decision.
07:28And what about the...
