00:00In this video, I will show you how to delete recent files in Windows 11.
00:05To do this from your desktop, what you want to do is open up your file explorer.
00:09So if you come to your search box in the taskbar at the bottom, in here just type file explorer
00:14and then open up your file explorer underneath best match.
00:18Now you're going to see the recent section down here at the bottom, but if you actually
00:22try to right click onto any of these, you can see there's no option to actually delete
00:26these so we can go and show more options, but you can see there's not an option to delete.
00:31Also by highlighting and pressing delete on your keyboard, you will notice this does not
00:35work either.
00:36So to actually go ahead and delete your recent files, what you want to do is come up to the
00:40top, click onto the three dots up here where it says see more and from this menu that comes
00:44up, you want to come down and click onto options.
00:47Now what it's going to do is bring up a window like this and from here, if you actually come
00:52down to this section where it says privacy, you're going to see an option to clear your
00:56file explorer history.
00:58So what you want to do is click onto clear and what that's going to do is just going to
01:02take a minute.
01:02As you can see, it's going to go through and delete all the recent files.
01:06Of course, what you can then do is click onto okay and that is how to delete recent files
01:11in windows 11.
