00:00In this video, I will show you how to disable background apps in Windows 11 and adjust the
00:06settings that control how certain apps run when you're not actually using them. For more Windows

00:21you're going to want to do is come down to your search box in the task bar at the bottom.
00:25In here
00:25you want to type settings and then open up your settings underneath best match.
00:30Once you've got your settings window opened, come over to the menu on the left hand side and click
00:34onto apps. Now, once you're on the app section, you want to come up to the top and click here
00:39where it
00:39says installed apps, and it's going to load up all the installed apps on your computer or laptop.
00:45Now, of course, you can't do this for all apps. It's only apps that are literally set to run in
00:48the background. So for example, if I come to the Sims 4 and click the three dots here, you can
00:54see it
00:54says modify or uninstall. Now, if the app is running in the background, you're going to see another option
00:59which should say advanced options. So for example, if I just scroll through my apps list and I'm just
01:05going to come to an app, which I know is going to be running in the background. So for example,
01:09if I click onto Instagram, if I click onto three dots, you can see we have the advanced options here.
01:15So if you do see this, that means the app is set to run in the background and to disable
01:19this,
01:20all you need to do is literally click onto advanced options. What that's going to do is take you to
01:25a screen
01:25like this, and you can see there's an option down here for background app permissions. Now you can
01:31see currently this is set to power optimized, which is the recommended setting, but if we click onto
01:36this, you can see we've got the option for never, which means this will disable the app from running
01:40in the background on your windows 11 computer or laptop. So all you need to do is simply select that
01:45option. That's going to stop it from running in the background. And that is how to disable background
01:50apps on windows 11. So make sure to like comment and subscribe for more windows 11 and simple tech
