00:00In this video I will show you how to clean your C drive in Windows 11.
00:05Now there's a couple of things you're going to want to do to clean up your C drive and
00:09free up some space.
00:10The first thing you're going to want to do from your desktop is come down to your search
00:14box in the taskbar at the bottom and in here you want to type disk clean up.
00:19Open up the disk cleanup feature underneath best match and that's going to open a window
00:24like this.
00:25Now it might give you an option to select your drive so you just want to select your
00:28C drive.
00:28You can see mine's already selected here and then what you want to do is scroll through
00:33the list and tick everything in this list.
00:36Once you've done that click the button here to clean up system files and then just give
00:40it a minute to run through and calculate.
00:42Once it's finished calculating what it's going to do is bring up this screen again.
00:46So make sure everything is ticked and then click on to OK.
00:50Now it's going to ask if you want to permanently delete these files, click the delete files
00:54button and it's going to start cleaning up your C drive.
00:57Using this utility allows you to free up things like your cache files and temporary internet
01:01files.
01:02So you're not going to lose anything important, but it's going to free up a lot of space on
01:06your C drive.
01:07Once you've done that, the next thing you're going to want to do from your desktop is
01:10come back down to your search box and in here you want to type storage settings.
01:15Open up storage settings underneath best match and that's going to open up a window like
01:19this.
01:20And from here, what you want to do is come down and click onto storage sense and then scroll
01:24down a bit further and click the run storage sense now button.
01:28Now whilst this is running, what you can do is come up and click back onto storage just
01:32up here.
01:32And then what you want to do is just scroll down a bit and click onto clean up recommendations.
01:37And if you do see anything in here, what you can do is just take the box and clean up
01:41to
01:41free up some space.
01:43Once you've done that, the final thing you can do to clean up your C drive is come back
01:46down to your search box.
01:48And this time you want to type remove programs underneath best match, click onto add or remove
01:54programs.
01:55And what that's going to do is open up a window like this.
01:58Now from here, what you want to do is come up to the filter by option, click onto the
02:02button here and select your C drive.
02:04And what I would recommend doing is where it says sort by, you want to sort this by size
02:08large, too small to find the apps, which are taking up a lot of space on your C drive.
02:13Now, if you do see any apps on here that you no longer use, for example, let's take this
02:18game here at the top, you can see it's currently using up 34 gigabytes of my C drive.
02:23So if you actually come to the right hand side of any apps that you no longer use, click
02:27onto the three dots and click onto uninstall.
02:30And then what you can do is follow the steps to uninstall any apps that you no longer use
02:34on your laptop or computer, which again, is going to free up space on your Windows 11
02:39C drive.
02:39So that is how to clean your C drive in Windows 11.
