00:02...
00:05But it's Vial who leads the way.
00:07Oh, who is that?
00:09All whiskey down in the corner.
00:12Might have been Herlings, you know?
00:14No, Herlings is there. Maybe not because...
00:17Because Herlings right there in second.
00:20So as Germany went down, Vial leads and Herlings there in second position.
00:24Just as they've done on so many occasions with those Honda HRC.
00:26Oh no!
00:28Machines!
00:28That is Vial.
00:30Vial is out.
00:31Well, I tell you what, he's picked himself up.
00:33But he, did he scrub too hard?
00:36Because he caught a footpeg.
00:38He went over the bars straight out.
00:40I want to say the front door, he went out the moonroof.
00:42That's how big he went.
00:43The French are out of it now.
00:44That's it?
00:44That's it.
00:45If he can't get into this and climb back through the field, it's over for the French.
00:50That brings me no joy to say, but those are the facts.
00:52You simply cannot have two DNFs and pretend to be at the front.
00:55Well, no, because even if he gets himself back into it, watch this here.
00:59Scrubbed, caught the footpeg, and he tried to save it.
01:02And Jeffrey Herlings, look how close he was.
01:06Unbelievable effort to get out of the way.
01:08Massive, massive instincts there to move out of the way of that.
01:11But France on lap one has not been kind for them here in Ernais this time around.
01:14And as you say, JT, France are out of the running now for the overall victory, surely.
01:20I wonder how damaged he is as a motorcycle.
01:22Like, there's a chance he could climb back to the top 20 here if everything is still workable.
01:26But what a huge get off.
01:29And that's it.
01:30You're looking at it like you've already thrown away 40 from Valan.
01:33If it stays like this, plus then you've whatever result.
01:36Nah, he's out.
01:38Who's the other rider there?
01:39That's the 45.
01:42That's Woodwig.
01:43Yeah.
01:43You just had to imagine that bike cartwheeled about six times the damage it took there.
01:47And Vial, about 26 times.
01:49He was still moving when we were on the drone camberts.
01:52You know, he, like I say, out the moonroof.
01:57So Herlings leads the way.
02:00Frederic Vial there.
02:02Surely thankful his son's okay, but also devastating for the team.
02:06Herlings leads the way for the Netherlands.
02:08Adamo second for Italy.
02:09Jonas third for Latvia.
02:11Ferez, again, the lead MX2 rider.
02:13He's going to be picking up the MX2 class award.
02:17Just keep it simple.
02:18Yeah, scrubbing and all the rest of it.
02:19Ruts on the jump.
02:20You saw how cautious he was on the takeoff there?
02:22Yep.
02:24And they've watered the track a little bit in the break as well.
02:27They need to because it's a bit breezier than it was yesterday.
02:29It's going to be slick now with that water on top.
02:31But that wasn't the reason why he crashed.
02:32He came in, scrubbed too hard, given the conditions.
02:35And you just saw that left foot peg drag the top of the jump with him.
02:40And for a moment, I think he thought he could save it.
02:42Then he realized he was going to go way past the downside.
02:45But Jeffrey Hurlings now, you see, look, just a little bit of darker dirt here on this part of the
02:50racetrack.
02:51Hurlings leads.
02:52And if you're Hurlings now, considering who's left in this field, there's no fear for him.
02:57Vial was really the main competitor for him now.
03:00Adamo, Pauls Jonas, none of those for 35 minutes can really challenge him.
03:04So he can be as cautious as he absolutely wants to be.
03:07And you're seeing him execute that.
03:09A big crash like that right in front of you will definitely change your approach.
03:12So the French then with Vial not complete in a lap.
03:15Welcome to Global Racing.
03:17Thanks for tuning in.
03:18If you're enjoying the action, hit that subscribe button and turn on notifications so you don't
03:23miss the next heat.
03:25Let's get into it.
03:26Here's the bonus of 52-6.
03:27Perez, though, what a fantastic couple of starts he's had from the inside for Triumph, for Spain.
03:31He is the lead Spanish rider at the moment.
03:34Where is his teammate?
03:36Garcia.
03:36He's in 13th place at the moment.
03:38So Spain, who had a nice low score a minute ago, 2-4.
03:41They're now 4-13 added to that.
03:44So 23 for them.
03:45Belgium on 32.
03:46The Netherlands on 35.
03:47Jeffrey Hurlings in the press conference on Friday was downplaying even a possibility.
03:53You know, Podum being a possibility.
03:55Well, here they are in that third place at the moment.
03:57I was trying to pump him up.
03:58I just know how crazy this race is and he didn't want to hear it.
04:01But he's also played really coy all year as well.
04:03So.
04:03Liam Evertz for Belgium in yellow.
04:04Cooper Webb to the outside of it for the USA.
04:06Go in respectfully.
04:09But then Evertz just runs it a little bit too wide.
04:11He realized he slightly made a mistake there as well.
04:13But he manages to hang on to that sixth place that he's just found his way past Webb.
04:24But another opening lap full of chaos for the French here this weekend.
04:29Just behind these guys you've got Enzo Lopes in there.
04:34The Brazilian on the Honda.
04:3648.
04:36Ben Watson.
04:37What a great right in all the carnage and chaos.
04:39We've forgotten that Ben Watson for Team GB is there in that fifth position.
04:43For the British team.
04:45Enzo Lopes putting some pressure on Cooper Webb here.
04:49The MX2 rider is Ben Musto.
04:51He's in 26th position at the moment.
04:54Of course our scorecard at the moment will show all races live.
04:57It's not until the opening lap has passed in the final race where you start to click off that worst
05:02score.
05:04And I think if you're if you're Webb you know every point counts right.
05:07So maybe he doesn't have the pace to go with Leon Edwards here.
05:11But if you could get Ben Watson keep Lopes behind you top five top six in this race.
05:16Garcia is out.
05:18Wow.
05:18So more drama for Spain then.
05:20Wow.
05:20So talk about expect the unexpected.
05:23As we said at the start of the broadcast Jason we are getting that in abundance here in the second
05:28race and the first race for that matter.
05:29Yeah.
05:30It's always like this at this race and sure we've had years where a certain country dominates and it's over
05:34before it begins.
05:35But more times than not it is just like this DNFs bad starts crashes dictate the outcome.
05:401,000 fans more than we had last year.
05:44Last year was a record.
05:45This 104,000 over the course of the weekend.
05:47105,000 this time around.
05:50That's Cooper Webb.
05:53Chases Liam Evers.
05:55Evers chasing Ben Watson.
05:56Watson having a great opening race here in this as the open class rider.
06:0214 GB.
06:04And just throw the flag out now.
06:07Belgium go to the top on 31.
06:08They've got 3, 12, 10 and 6 scores.
06:1110 and 6 in this race.
06:13The Netherlands jump up to second on 35.
06:15Spain now with Garcia going out of the race.
06:20They are on 46 points and then Latvia on 51.
06:23USA on 56.
06:25Italy on 57.
06:26This is still open for debate.
06:29Yeah.
06:29And Spain is virtually in the same spot that France was in race one.
06:32They've used their throw away.
06:34They have chances to be top five or better in race three with both of their riders.
06:38But I think the pressure falls on Garcia now.
06:41We know Prado is going to be fantastic.
06:43He almost always is.
06:44But Garcia in their race three could determine whether they get their first win or not.
06:48And a lot of people talking about if it's close between France and Spain after two races and you go
06:53into the final race.
06:54You put your money on France just because you've got Vial and Fevre.
06:58Two great starters.
06:59Two great finishers.
07:00Probably two of the strongest 450 riders in the world at the moment.
07:03Garcia just the unknown in that they'd probably be at the disadvantage in terms of the start position with Prado
07:08being the top man.
07:10Prado we know can be a race winner.
07:11And therefore, you know, certainly a top three performer with other things going on around him with the two French
07:16with Jeffy Hurlings in that final race.
07:18But then Garcia, the unknown.
07:19So you just think the French edge it.
07:21But with the lamp out in race one and Vial out in race two, though, it doesn't doesn't matter in
07:27terms of the French score.
07:28They could just be there just like a pain in the backside for everybody else out there now.
07:31Yeah. And what's going through the mind of Garcia?
07:33This is three motos in a row in motocross nation's events where he's really underperformed every other race of the
07:38year.
07:38So the pressure has to be incredible on Garcia going to race four.
07:42Well, we've got an update on Team Spain's Francisco Garcia.
07:45His teammate here again, Perez, continues to sit there in fourth as a lead MX2 rider.
07:49But let's go down to Lisa with an update on his teammate Garcia.
07:55I'll tell you what, it's all happening this weekend.
07:57We just saw Francesco Garcia retire from the race.
08:01I just had a quick word with Team Spain, just asking what the issue was.
08:04Francesco is absolutely fine.
08:06There's no issues with him.
08:07But it's the bike.
08:08He had a technical problem with the bike, which is so unfortunate for them.
08:12That means that the pressure is really on for Guillain Perez in this race.
08:16And also the pressure will be off with Francesco in that third race.
08:20But it's all happening here and it's not going to be over until it's over.
08:22That's for sure.
08:25Never a truer word spoken.
08:27It ain't over until it's over.
08:28And there's some big numbers on the screen already.
08:31You know, you put the six points from Spain in race one and then you add this four.
08:37There's ten, irrespective of what, you know, and that's the reality that we are looking at at the moment, aren't
08:42we?
08:43We've got, yeah, two, four, four, yeah, eight, ten.
08:47You throw away the 36.
08:48If they're on a good lap in race two, race three, the Spanish, then, of course, they can still salvage
08:53something massive here.
08:54They're still on a very, very low score.
08:55But as it stands right now, it's Belgium 130, the Netherlands 34, Spain 36, Latvia 51, USA 56, one point
09:02ahead of Italy.
09:04Got it.
09:05You know, some of it comes down to this final race.
09:08You know, who was in the final race?
09:09You mentioned it was going to be Fever and Vial, such a strong way to finish.
09:13You have Garcia, unproven on the 450.
09:15Sure, fantastic season in 2026.
09:18But for him to go up against the likes of Vial as a counterpart, that's a really difficult task.
09:22And if anybody needed a race on a 450 around here going into that last race, it was this race
09:28here, race two, and that's Francesco Garcia.
09:30Still unfamiliar with that 450.
09:32Yes, he's been riding it and training and maybe done a couple of French races on it, but that's not
09:36the nation's.
09:37Yeah, he can't match the experience of those he's trying to beat.
09:40There's no way.
09:40You know, really, the only comparable is really Liam Everts.
09:43That would be probably the closest.
09:44And Everts going after Ben Watson.
09:46Ben Watson still there in that fifth position.
09:48Of course, he was a class winner when the Nations was held in Mantua in 2021.
09:53Of course, they got on the podium.
09:59But that's the number 11 over on the right hand side, isn't it, of Sasha Kunin.
10:04Yeah.
10:04So Sasha in ninth.
10:06Pretty calm.
10:07We haven't seen him a lot, but I've been kind of monitoring his lap times and slow and steady.
10:11Why don't I say slow, steady, which is the key for him.
10:14He's capable of turning in some of the best lap times of anyone.
10:17But it's the inconsistency through the results that could cost his team, but not so much today, which is good
10:21to see.
10:22Yeah, the last time that Team GB got on the podium was that third overall in 2021.
10:29When was the last time they won, Paul?
10:32Oh, I'll have to check the database there.
10:34But I think it was sometime in the 90s, maybe around 94, something like that.
10:37That sounds right.
10:38Is that about right?
10:38Yeah, that sounds right.
10:40You get a bonus point if you name the team.
10:44Anyway, five laps in the books when we hit the line now.
10:47Ben Watson continues to hang on to that fifth place with Liam Everts of Belgium just hounding him down.
10:53It's a strong ride from Watson.
10:56You get a lot of that type of performance in Nations, right?
10:59Yes.
10:59It brings out some of the best and the worst in people.
11:01You know, you never know which you're going to get.
11:03But this is kind of that type of performance from Max Anstey, Matterley 2017.
11:08Just, you know, not saying Ben Watson's winning, but these kind of outsized performances.
11:14Yeah, I mean, when you think of, you know, sort of podiums and stuff like that, you know,
11:18Belgium haven't had a podium since Aston back in 2019 as well.
11:22So, you know, we're getting on it here, aren't we?
11:25In that respect, Belgium, their last win was 2013.
11:29That was in Germany.
11:33So there's a lot on the line here.
11:35Can they pull together as a team?
11:37You know, when you look at Spain with 2-4-4 with Prado and two fours there from Guillaume Ferez
11:42at the moment.
11:43Spain are looking very, very strong.
11:45The unknown, though, is Francisco Garcia, as we said a moment ago.
11:48And Belgium, of course, we've got Evertz going again in the last race with Lucas Koonen.
11:53How are the fitness levels there with Koonen?
11:55Yeah, he gets the longer break between the races, being the MXGP rider going out in race one and race
11:59three.
12:01But, of course, coming back off the couch from injury.
12:04And we're just hoping that he holds together long enough just to be able to bring them a result, a
12:07podium at the very, very least,
12:08because they are in contention for that at the very, very least.
12:12Tell you what, we haven't talked about him much.
12:13We haven't really seen him much, but Paul Jonas running around comfortably in third, kind of all by himself.
12:18Well, he actually has Ferez right on him.
12:21But they're sitting fourth, that sneaky effort.
12:24We talked with some of the Racialist brothers, incredibly talented, on the rise in the sport.
12:28And then you throw in Paul Jonas, who's a veteran.
12:31Not that surprising that they're in conversation for a podium, but not a lot of people were talking about that
12:35coming in.
12:36We spoke about it on the podcast, on the MXGP podcast, about they are potential podium contenders with the two
12:42Racialist brothers and, of course, Jonas, if things go their way.
12:46We just saw Evertz a moment ago at the bottom of the long down.
12:48He'll try and sneak up the inside of Watson.
12:50It didn't work.
12:51It's worked on this occasion, a handful of corners later.
12:54The Belgian Evertz moves up into fifth place.
12:58Yeah, and for Lavia, it's not, you know, the pick doesn't jump off the page.
13:02But if you really dig down into the strength of their team overall, it should.
13:06And that's showing up on Sunday.
13:09A couple of back markers just to deal with there for the riders.
13:12But Evertz has just been very, very patient here.
13:14That's going to be another point to the good for them as they extend another point clear of the Netherlands
13:20when we hit the line next time around.
13:24But Evertz now with a bit of clear track.
13:27The next rider ahead of him is going to be Guillaume Perez about four seconds further up the track.
13:32You'd think 450 power would out muscle the 250.
13:35But, of course, as we discussed in the first race, JT, you've got some good long straights on the 450.
13:39You've got some tight, twisty turns, and it's starting to get choppy as well.
13:42Some of those lines may just play into the hands of the 250s.
13:45Let's look at Cooper Webb here.
13:47Cooper Webb is in seventh place at the moment.
13:49The lead American rider Levi Kitchen, his teammate.
13:53He is in 16th place.
13:58The eighth best MX2 rider at the moment.
14:01They would have given him...
14:02Well, he went to the inside gate.
14:03But, of course, if you don't get the jump, you get pinched to the inside, and then you get pushed
14:07to the outside through that first and then second turn.
14:09There you see the first turn and second turn sequence just there over on that right-hand side.
14:16But Jeffrey Herlings leading the way for the Netherlands.
14:18He is 12.6 seconds clear of Italy's Andrea Adamo.
14:22And Adamo doing a great job because, obviously, his teammate in race one with Albi Ferrato picking up a fantastic
14:30sixth place.
14:31Right, here's Matisse Valand.
14:34This is what happened to Tom Bial at the start of the race.
14:36He scrubbed too energetically there.
14:39He went down the cartwheel.
14:41Look how close Herlings was to hitting that motorcycle of his normal regular teammate just there.
14:46He had to take massive evasive action.
14:50Watch that left foot peg.
14:51Just too much scrub on the opening lap.
14:53Maybe too much showboat in front of the fans.
14:55I think it's just a search for intensity.
14:57Right, you're pushing so hard, so much energy from the fans.
15:00And, yeah, you just...
15:01This is a track you have to respect above all else.
15:03Herlings heart was in his mouth at this moment because you don't know if this bike is going to bounce
15:07left or right or go straight on.
15:09He probably even drops his right shoulder as he went through.
15:14And then that was the three at Varentanti on that same...
15:18Well, on the next jump.
15:21Gautier Paulin looking on.
15:22He knows that a victory is over now.
15:27They can just go out and try and perform.
15:29And that's exactly what Valand is trying to do.
15:31A little bit of national pride.
15:32He is in eighth place.
15:34The second MX2 rider.
15:37But it's going to be Guillaume Perez who's going to be picking up the MX2 individual class award
15:42with what would be two wins in the category, which were two fourth place finishes as it stands right now.
15:48Still got a long way to go, though.
15:49Thirteen and a half minutes plus two laps.
15:51Sacha Kunin, he's there in that ninth place on the number 11.
15:54He's the second rider for Belgium, so both riders inside the top ten.
15:58That's why they are on 29 points at the moment.
16:01A three from Lucas Kunin in race one and a 12 for their second rider, Sacha Kunin, in that first
16:08race.
16:08So that gave them the 15 points and then at a 9-5, as it stands right now.
16:14Nine with Sacha Kunin, five for Evertz.
16:19Their total score, 29 points.
16:21They have five clear of the Netherlands.
16:23Where is their second rider, Koldenhoff?
16:25He's 1.3 seconds behind Sacha Kunin on a 2.50, of course, riding MX2 this weekend.
16:31And you've only got another five seconds further up the track to Valan.
16:35So they could pull another couple of points back late on in this race if Glenn Koldenhoff can sort of
16:41find another gear.
16:41JT?
16:42Well, think about Koldenhoff in the positioning here.
16:44He's got Valan, championship contender, right in front of him, followed by Sacha Kunin, who was the red plate holder
16:49majority of the season.
16:50And then right behind him, he has Camden McClellan, who won several GPs, including the final.
16:56So for Koldenhoff at his age, not having raced a 2.50 this season at all.
17:01This is a heroic performance from him.
17:03Ferdinand Higginhoff.
17:08What can you, what more can you say about Ferdinand Hoffenheim?
17:11Well, I mean, he's...
17:12Incredible in 2026.
17:13Absolutely, he is.
17:14I mean, when you look at the scoreboard there, you've got 3.95 for Belgium.
17:17They can throw away their 12th if they have better positioning going into the final race.
17:22The Netherlands, 9, 14, 10 and 1.
17:24They're hoping to throw away that 14th if they can.
17:27And then Spain, 2.44.36.
17:29They still have the lowest score when you think about dropping your worst score as it stands for.
17:32right now spain very much in the driving seat as it stands right now but again ferez he's just
17:38doing what he does in mx2 he's just picking up the pace he's going to be relying on uh maybe
17:45a little bit better fitness and the sort of ease of riding the mx2 bike around here
17:50wrestling that 450 around here take a look at the start of the race again
17:55very hurling's a lot of the stars of the show he hasn't been flustered we won't see jeffrey
17:59until the next race because he's lining up in the open class so this is the mxg he would have
18:04been
18:04over on the inside gates i think for team spain or did he sweep in from the middle well we
18:09know vial
18:10was there it was vial over the line for the foxhole shot see sasha kunin there kitchen got box to
18:22the
18:22inside two slovenians came together but ferez was already sort of uh out to the outside so he came
18:31out of that very very well indeed
18:35when you think about his season you know in terms of
18:38all of the the stats and things like that guillem ferez i mean it's just one of the most unlikely
18:43success stories i've ever come across uh you know i think the sport had kind of passed him by he
18:48was
18:48working part-time racing seemed to be an afterthought and four or five short years later he's he's world
18:55champion you just don't see that kind of thing very often once you missed your window it's typically
19:00over with but not for ferez cold enough almost off the side of the track there and that's messed
19:06him up for the run and that gets uh mcclellan all over the back of him so mcclellan finds his
19:10way
19:11past the dutchman and just as we were talking about cold enough closing in on the riders ahead
19:14to maybe gain a point back for the netherlands all of a sudden he lose the position to camden mcclellan
19:19so mcclellan i think would have had the uh maybe would have had the better starting option over his
19:26teammate trey cox but sasha kunin he fell on this part of the racetrack yesterday remember he tried to
19:32find a gap that wasn't there tried to launch it up the inside of janus raceless he went down hard
19:39went down twice in the qualifying race actually did kunan but you see valand just disappearing out
19:43of sight there he is in ninth place mcclellan now just behind him in tenth using this outside closest
19:49to us then glenn colden off who's just been passed a month ago he finds himself in 11th ahead of
19:53enzo
19:53lopes who's been dropped he was right there earlier on in the race he's now ten and a half seconds
19:57behind
19:59meanwhile cooper webb has gotten around ben watson it's big another point there
20:05that puts it back up to sixth position tell you what though these 250s are pushing really hard here
20:10the second half of this race if they drag their pace forward cooper webb and watson are just up the
20:15racetrack poor decision there from uh mattis valand he went defensive to the inside didn't get the drive
20:20on the exit of the turn camden mcclellan blasted around the outside got that run found his way past
20:26the frenchman who is now probably feeling a little bit detuned mcclellan up to ninth
20:32on the 41 here for south africa yeah you just wonder if valand feeling the effects of not racing
20:38for a long time effects of that first race crash able to make a move back though can't afford to
20:42go
20:42too far wide there he'll leave the door open and lets valand through oldest line in the book right
20:48there valand showing some fighting spirit here in front of the fans bar to bar as they hit that jump
20:54mcclellan finds his way back past the frenchman and regains that position he lost a moment ago he can now
21:01find himself back in ninth place he's up against the tough one though because mcclellan has been
21:05absolutely lights out in the second half of these races all of 2026
21:14valand there's cold enough in the orange going after the young french star he'll hold a nice tight
21:20line here he gets good power he was talking about oh i'll tell you what that was very close
21:27valand went from right to left not sure if the root took him that way but there was evasive action
21:32there action there wasn't there from glenn coldenhoff he looked like he had that panic wave he definitely
21:36had to land with the brakes on yeah it would have it had coldenhoff stayed in it that would have
21:40been
21:41much closer so he's going to have another opportunity before the end of the lap surely bottom of the hill
21:48does he go inside and lose out because valand goes outside that's the run you risk outside
21:57watch this here he looked across he knew he was there i don't think he did too much wrong though
22:03yeah a lot of that is just lines coming together as well right sasha kunin on the ropes because again
22:08he goes to the inside mcclellan's going to go the long way around can he out drag the ktm not
22:12quite
22:15can't nudge his way up the inside either these two now fighting over eighth place watson just ahead
22:19of him yeah watson watson has held up kunin the last two or three laps which has brought uh mcclellan
22:26back into the fight so kunin probably pretty frustrated you saw luke older brother well by
22:30three minutes older lucas brother lucas cheering him on there yeah going back to the monitors down
22:36there in pit lane there's uh the 48 of watson he goes to the inside to find his way past
22:41the b final
22:42winners of slovakia oh big moment there for watson and kunin he will try to pass him here if he
22:52can
22:52he's going to launch oh i thought he was going to launch a triple need to anyway watson now just
22:58running
22:58out of steam koonin goes by mcclellan goes by watson now losing two positions goes from seventh to ninth
23:06yeah i think watson had been sprinting for the last few laps the whole koonin back and he
23:10i think it was either to the point of either relent or crash
23:16so seventh and eighth sasha kunin camden mcclellan kunin gaining points for belgium once again they're on 27
23:25now the netherlands on 35 the gap is getting bigger oh cold enough top right how did he save
23:33that he was chasing hard but he still manages to get back on the rear wheel of matis valand by
23:38the
23:38time when hit hit the next turn
23:43still just under six minutes plus two laps to go in this amx2 open class race jeffi herlings the race
23:49race now the race to go in this amx2 open class race leader 23 seconds oh is that all is
23:52that all of
23:53is that all of andrea redamo of italy helped by the fact that tombiano of france crashing out on the
23:58first lap yeah just watching these guys if you're wondering how tricky this race track is just
24:03judged by the amount of mistakes they're making these are the best riders in the world and they are
24:07making four or five mistakes per hour yeah it's pretty intense also the race track is pretty intense
24:15spoke to trey canard earlier today before he did the cr electric if you're enjoying the racing make
24:23sure you hit that subscribe button we've got plenty more action coming up so you don't want
24:27to miss the next heat stay tuned zero thanks their e-bike and they were saying yesterday is it normal
24:34that the track is this beat up on a saturday because none of the jump faces were fixed or
24:38anything like that they said it was gnarly out there for the two laps that they did and i said
24:42well when you do your two laps today the jump faces will be fixed because it's ahead of race one
24:46and they'll fix what they can between one and two and two and three but i think they were surprised
24:51at how gnarly it was already and these guys are racing it at pace where those guys were just on
24:56a joyride yeah i mean that that's the biggest difference i think in modern day pro motocross
25:00versus modern day mxgp is that the racetracks are so completely different and who am i to say what's
25:07better or worse but they are very very different well let's just fill you in then on the things of
25:14how they've happened then in race one roman febvre was your winner for team france ahead of jorge
25:18prado of spain lucas kunin of belgium guillem ferez of spain and uh mattis valand the teammate of
25:25roman febvre had a big crash on the opening lap wasn't able to finish and of course didn't quite
25:29scupper the chances of france at that moment in time but they needed two solid rides here in race two
25:34well tom vial got off to a flying start in that race and then fell on the opening lap
25:39guillem ferez has been solid for spain but he's under pressure here from liam evans the spaniard
25:44goes inside he knows he's on a hiding for nothing then evans finds his way by the top of the
25:49hill the
25:49belgium fans love that in the front in the fan zone and evans now up in the fourth place for
25:55belgium
25:56ferez is just beside himself with the power that evans has underneath him right because these two
26:00battled a lot ferez usually getting the upper hand and when evans just rolls right by up the hill
26:06listen you understand the situation spain's in a position here to possibly win this they're gonna
26:10have to have a great race through but still frustrating because you know that evans wouldn't
26:14be making that move without the power so working their way through the twists and turns and evans
26:20onto the jump heading towards the monster jump in the middle of the circuit there to the outside
26:26and then the star has found a rider normally in a mx2 trim course stepping up to a 450 this
26:31weekend
26:32it's only five seconds down on paul's jonas of latvia what were the lap times last time around jonas
26:37was 55 evans was 54. there was an exact second between them say stepping up or stepping up stepping
26:44up stepping up yeah yeah stepping up slight error there going into the left-hander by pit lane
26:51yeah that's not even a mistake for sasha but i asked him um when he was on the riders parade
26:55we just had
26:56a follow-up question didn't we for liam evans because uh sasha lucas of course fly racing athletes
27:00they've got a different look to liam evans but uh evans i asked him about the fact that normally in
27:06the
27:06past we got used to seeing belgium in baby blue kind of colors for team belgium um why the yellow
27:12and he said it's just what i wanted you know um my dad wore it thought it looks good and
27:16everything
27:16else so uh he felt like he wanted to wear himself this weekend at an iconic venue where his dad
27:21has
27:22had so much success as well um but obviously uh fancies it here himself this weekend and he's doing a
27:27great job in fourth place at the moment but of course he's got his second race to come within an
27:33hour well less than that it's about 40 minutes or so isn't it 45 minutes i think between uh check
27:37and flag and and gate drop well this is two years in a row for liam that he stepped up
27:41to a bigger
27:42bike and had a great performance so if you are red bull ktm you're anyone in austria you're a
27:47prospective 450 team owner you have to like what you're seeing from liam because you're thinking
27:52about what that can look like in the future should we check in with our leader jeffrey hurling just
27:58checked out should we check out with our leader jeffrey hurling's that 26.8 seconds clear at the
28:05moment he's a lone wolf his teammate glenn colden off down in 10th position at the moment netherlands
28:10are in second position in the overall classification on 34 belgium on 26 they are the leaders but what
28:17a season jeffrey hurling says that of course we know we've said it in our podcast before we've
28:21mentioned on a regular basis we don't know that had lucas kunan not at the uh second half of the
28:26season
28:26that he had there's his teammate bottom right corner there glenn colden off still closing in
28:30on ben watson looking for a way through into ninth to pull another point back but jeffrey hurling's
28:36nine pole positions so that's nine qualifying race wins of course he led 328 laps throughout the course
28:42of the season 22 race wins 13 grand prix victories 16 podiums and 13 red plates not a bad season
28:50in his rookie season for honda yeah it's unbelievable and and i'm not sure you know 2018
28:56the data would say that it was a better season but i don't know when you factor in the age
29:01brand
29:01new team brand new everything this 2026 campaign is one to remember and if glenn colden off does find
29:09his way past ben watson of course that'll put them on the 33 points so they'll inch a close uh
29:16they'll
29:16inch a point closer to belgium but it's the benelux region belgium and the netherlands who lead the way
29:24i remember a very memorable nations from 2004 between those two countries as well i think
29:28belgium just stole it in the latter stages didn't they i remember deruver had an issue
29:35but he also gave a very hard time to everts that day in the woods of liro yeah we knew
29:42that belgium
29:43was going to be the team of the future you know i think spain made a case for they are
29:47also going to
29:48be i just wasn't sure when for belgium you know maybe it doesn't still happen today that this race
29:53three is going to be critical as it always is but there's no doubt that belgium is going to be
29:57a
29:57force for the next decade with this lineup right here
30:03cooper webb still there in six sasha kunin behind him in seventh but these two riders fighting here
30:10ben watson and glenn colden off for that ninth place colden off here in orange on the 56 he's
30:16currently in 10th position trying to find his way back perhaps can he get in and out early well i'll
30:21tell you what he did but he rode his luck a little there and if you get it right you
30:25can see how much
30:26shorter it is to that first turn yeah you may have to turn a little bit tighter and scrub a
30:30little speed there but had it worked out to perfection he may have made that pass before
30:35the end of the straight watson on the ropes here in that ninth place even if he was just on
30:40a 450
30:41he would have made that move work there even with the mistake in the corner
30:44both riders launching up onto that triple but watson just getting a little bit more distance
30:49on the 450 triumph then the 250 yamaha of the hoff
30:55who's rocking a very cool motocross of nations butt patch actually this year
30:58motocross mx hoff nations simple but effective
31:07so i'll tell you what so yeah jeffrey's just taken the two lap board
31:12he's 32 seconds clear of adamo give or take a tenth or two these two are still on lap 15
31:22still solid though for watson and how much we're talking about the sprint speed earlier on where he
31:27sort of was there in that fifth position for a long time and uh as hoff as koldenhoff goes by
31:32and takes that ninth place away from him how much in the tank does ben watson have for his second
31:38race
31:38race three because of course he gets that short turnaround not a lot of recovery time for him
31:43yeah so much effort there on the 250 to make that move you could kind of see watson was just
31:47riding
31:47around and koldenhoff was having to ride a little bit over the limit to make the move work but i
31:51i do think he'll separate himself now that he got around him
31:58jonas
32:00and he has been caught by evans he was lapping a second a lap quicker than the latvian and he's
32:06still lapping what a second and a half two seconds that time around 57 455
32:12three so this has been a very methodical ride for liam evans just in his mind don't rush got 30
32:19plus two 35 minutes is a long time especially around a technical racetrack and when you throw
32:23the word technical into the mix liam evans is probably one of the most gifted and talented in
32:29terms of his style and his poise and everything else of course i would say ferez has probably taken
32:34that mantle to another level this year in terms of his riding ability and i would say he's definitely on
32:38par with evans in that respect you know does everything right doesn't rush doesn't get
32:42flustered stands up exactly when he needs to and rides things around you know without uh any kind of
32:48panic that's exactly what we're seeing from evans yeah but it hasn't always been easy right that big
32:53injury in china took him a long time to kind of get back to form you're seeing now like the
32:58the
32:58latter part of 2026 season he's finished so strong backs that up here if he can have a healthy off
33:03season he has to be one of the guys going into 2027 for mx2 belgium of course the most podiums
33:11in this
33:11event 59 they've got 15 wins 26 seconds 18 thirds their last podium was 2019 when they were second to
33:18asem in the netherlands they haven't won since tuition tell germany in 2013 and that was their first
33:25win since 2004. so this is going to be another memorable one if they can bring it home but as
33:32we say
33:33it's uh far from being decided far from being over at the moment a lot rides on that final race
33:40as it
33:41always does but they are in the mix because belgium have a three a seven and a four spain have
33:48a two
33:48four and a five so 11 for them 14 for belgium so that's how tight it is when you throw
33:54away your worst
33:55scores at the moment of course that can change on the opening lap of the final race because
34:01it could be one of those scores that they uh wanted to keep you just never know you just need
34:04to have both riders in a good position to to sort of see how this thing plays out in that
34:08final race
34:11Andrea Adamo has been solid for team italy on his red bull ktm he's 35 seconds behind there's
34:17hurlings at the top end of the circuit
34:22and as Adamo rounds up here hurling's going to be dropping down that hill any moment now in the
34:26background on his way to the checkered flag right on cue there is the bullet doesn't want to make a
34:33a valand mistake keeps it nice and central down that left-hand side but he has been in cruise mode
34:39and i would say that he's been able to ride to his own tune pull a gap ride conservatively
34:46and jeffrey hurlings wins race two here in urne and the netherlands are in with a fighting shot
34:55of the overall win and certainly a podium here this weekend
35:01Andrea Adamo we wait for him to cross the line it's going to be a long wait for him here
35:06he is dropping
35:06down the final hill now needs to go up and down the other side and uh Andrea Adamo he was
35:14part of
35:14the podium winning side for italy when we were here but look at evarts up the inside Adamo took a
35:22nervous look and it's going to be jonas who hangs on for latvia in third evarts fourth for belgium
35:26an opportunity lost there just for an extra point gained but respect between the latvian
35:32and the belgian the italian there adamo absolutely pumped with his second position as well but it's
35:38hurlings adamo jonas evarts and ferez your top five ferez goes one one in the mx2 category or four five
35:46if
35:46you like but the best mx2 rider and he will take the mx2 overall classification
