00:35Well, of those two guys, Levi, you have the most championship experience in being in this moment.

01:17And with all this rain, as you can see, man, that was a key start for Levi to get going.
01:23They got to be a little bit careful, Ricky, because now with this rain, it's not enough to make it
01:26muddy.
01:27But what it makes it is slippery on these hard, slippery spots.
01:29You'll see.
01:30You are certainly right.
01:32Clutch start for Levi and good news for him.

01:36Because Ryder DeFrancisco and Julian Beaumare are nowhere in sight.
01:43And that is an absolute gift.
01:46We have Beaumare and DeFrancisco 19th and 20th on the board right now.
01:51Yeah, I mean, they are way back right now.
01:55We'll have to see what happened there.
01:56As for Kitson, who's attacking Davies momentarily for the lead.
02:00He had averaged a sixth-place start all year in all the races.
02:05Supercross, motocross, playoffs combined.
02:07Today, a first- and second-place start.
02:10Way to respond when he needed it.
02:14And they are way back.
02:16Beaumare has gained a few spots.
02:18But this is the worst time for a bad one.
02:20Yeah, James, I am absolutely loving this scenario right here.
02:24I am looking and I am being aware if I am Levi Kitchen,
02:29seeing where those two riders were.
02:32Two riders, meaning Beaumare and Ryder De.
02:37Yeah, I mean, he's got to stay focused, as you can see,
02:40how slippery his track is.
02:42But I feel like I have a, you know, when I was looking at the background,
02:45some riders went down right on this corner.
02:47So I'm wondering maybe those were two championships, JT.
02:50Yeah, just to Ricky's point there, I wanted to ask both of you,
02:53how much effort would you put into finding out what the situation is behind you?
02:58Like, are you going to look back?
02:59Are you going to try to look on other lanes?
03:01Like, how important in the situation here is to know exactly who your competitors are directly behind you?
03:06Yeah, that's a great question, JT.
03:08And I think some people's, you know, strategies are different.
03:11But for me, 100%, I would be looking nonstop until I could locate those riders and see where they are.
03:17That way I know how much effort I have to put into this race and trying to maybe stay on
03:24the wheel of Cole Davies.
03:26Or can I just ride it in to the sunset?
03:29That would be my strategy right now, finding where they're at.
03:31Yeah, I'm with you here.
03:32The good thing is I'm going to just try to hang on to the 3070s.
03:36It's been the fastest.
03:36But you see how slippery this racetrack is.
03:39And with this rain coming down, what you've got to believe,
03:41Levi knows the color, Julian's gear.
03:44Same thing with Ryder D.
03:45So he'll continue to look back and hopefully he don't see those colors.
03:48Make this race a little bit easier.
03:50He's got a long ways to go.
03:52Man, there's so much different soil out here as they go from the clay to the sand.
03:56So, James, yeah, just talk about that.
03:58And I imagine the rain is going to impact different areas of the track differently.
04:02Yeah, it is.
04:03And the hard part for him, these guys, as you said, all this is sand.
04:06So this is actually with the rain to actually help it out.
04:08But then you start getting to this part.
04:10You're starting to get over this little roller is where Cole Davies is.
04:14You can see that bike sliding around.
04:15So it changes a lot.
04:17And these shiny, slippery spots that we saw in the dust earlier,
04:21these are the spots you've got to watch out.

04:31There is Kitchett.
04:33Ryder's there.
04:34Beaumare.
04:36I'm going to show you guys.

04:41There's Beaumare.
04:43Well, first of all, it was about laps coming in.
04:45And then he goes down.
04:46Yeah, he goes down.
04:47And then there was Ryder DeFrancisco.
04:51And he, those guys, oh.
04:55You just wonder if, you know,
04:58the vision was impaired a little bit with this rain,
05:01the way it is right there, not being able to see well.
05:05It narrows up.
05:07We talked about it at the top of the show,
05:09that first corner, the beginning of the first moto.
05:12How tight it gets.
05:15Kitchett now, 15 minutes on a rapidly changing racetrack
05:20to finally bring home a title.
05:23He has had this red plate of the points leader time after time,
05:27year after year, including multiple weeks this year in pro motocross.
05:31He has not been able to bring it home.
05:34Five times he led a series in 2024.
05:37Five times in 25.
05:40Multiple times he had led it.
05:42And each time it slipped away.
05:45Will.
05:48Jason, it's incredible to think.
05:49And I was just standing with Jimmy Button, agent,
05:52for Levi Kitchen, and sort of acts as somewhat of a kind of off-track
05:56sort of mentor for him, just leaning on all his own racing experience.
06:00And I said, what's different about Levi today?
06:04And he said, he is so relaxed before this moto.
06:07He said, I think after just not being himself last week,
06:11he didn't, what he called it, he said he was a little bit of a mess last week.
06:14He said he's embracing the privilege of being here.
06:18He said he's different.
06:19And he said, I want this for him so badly
06:21because there's so much that's gone in.
06:23There's been so much heartbreak.
06:25He said, I just want him to feel what it's like to get rewarded
06:28for everything that he has put in.
06:30This is going to resonate, this win, for Levi.
06:33If this happens here, it's going to resonate
06:36through his team and family very deeply.
06:39Well, Will, it was so bad last week.
06:41The agent there, Jimmy Button, saying he was a mess.
06:44Levi admitted he threw up before the first moto last week,
06:47and then he did not ride well, finished seventh,
06:49and then somehow came back in the second moto to win.
06:54And then we switch the story to the team.
06:56This is the title drop for that very mighty Pro Circuit organization.
07:00Tons of titles in the 90s to 2000s and the 2010s.
07:03They have not won a title in this decade.
07:07And we've told that story far too many times.
07:10Not that they haven't been in contention.
07:11Not that they haven't won races.
07:13They just haven't been able to seal the deal.
07:16We asked yesterday, Levi, what would it mean to win the title for this team?
07:22Yeah, it would be super, super big.
07:24Just a little bit of confidence and a great way to end the year.
07:27You know, I've had a pretty good season this far.
07:29So, yeah, to try to, you know, go out there and win this thing tomorrow
07:33would be huge.
07:34Not a lot of number one plates on the door,
07:36but the latest was Adam Cine Cirillo back in 2019.

07:42That's a long run for a very proud organization.
07:46Yeah, you talk about proud organization.
07:48I mean, he was with the most coveted race teams around in the 250 division.
07:53And there's a team you wanted to be on.
07:55It was the Monster Engine Kawasaki Pro Circuit race team.
07:59I mean, there was no doubt about that.
08:01But kudos to the number 47 and Levi Kitchen.
08:04And so many times, again, we've talked about being in that position
08:08to win a championship.
08:08And for whatever reason, coming up short and have that resilience mentally
08:13to keep coming back and to keep fighting big-time props to this race team
08:20and as well, Levi.
08:22Oh, yeah, remember the last vision we had of him in Ironman just riding off
08:25with the visor down, bike bent, didn't even race Moto2.
08:29I was on the couch watching, and it just, I mean, you could just see it like one thing
08:33after another.
08:34Yeah, no, I like what I see because he came out and executed two great starts, you know,
08:39and he made them happen.
08:40So I think for him, it kind of changes maybe the narrative moving forward that,
08:45hey, he can get this done.
08:47Now, we still have 12 and a half minutes left to get it done,
08:49but I'm impressed to watch him continue to grow.
08:52And the thing that was difficult for the motocross, it's not like he just crumbled.
08:57Yeah, he had the last race.
08:58He had a bunch of crashes.
08:59When things spiraled, they went.
09:00But he showed up, and he was out there probably some of his best rides the last few races,
09:04but then a first-corner crash and just incidents.
09:07He's out front.
09:08He goes down.
09:09When that luck changes, like maybe today, seeing that happen for other guys,
09:13I'm sure that gives Levi some belief and confidence.
09:15Maybe this is it to the start of many.
09:18But he also, you know, he made his own luck, like you talked about,
09:21in getting that start at the opportune time, which maybe didn't happen, you know,
09:28in his other scenarios.
09:29So he made it happen when he needed to at the most important time.
09:33And no one has an answer for this guy.
09:35The dominant force in 250 racing this year, a 250 Supercross title, a 250 Motocross title.
09:42Mike Rook is way up to third, actually, overall in these final SMX standings.
09:46Kind of think about what could have been.
09:49I mean, that was a massive plot twist last week.
09:54Cole looks good.
09:55And, truthfully, watching him ride on this track, it was the same thing we saw during the mud race at
10:00Columbus,
10:00that, man, this kid can really ride the mud.
10:03And watching him here, it looks like he's on a completely different track than everyone else.
10:07Everybody else is getting timid.
10:08You can tell their body language.
10:10Cole's arms are open.
10:11He's whipping it.
10:12He looks more comfortable on this type of racetrack than any other one, JT.
10:16Yeah, I 100% agree.
10:18Like, the level of precision that he has when traction is at a premium right now really stands out.
10:24And these guys are all fantastic.
10:26But when we go through the field, we watch other guys, and you watch him,
10:29he looks like he's doing something completely different.
10:32Like, he looks like he is in a different race on a different racetrack than those other guys.
10:36Speaks pretty highly about what he's going to be able to do not only in 2027, but at the next
10:39level as well.

10:53You notice, James, the base of this track is really hard and slick.
10:57If you watch these riders come out of the corners, certain corners like this one coming up,
11:02Cole's about to hit right here.
11:03This inside, it's like riding on ice.
11:06He's going to go to the outside because there is more grit, but on the inside, it is super slick.
11:11Keep your eyes on those certain sections because you'd be on your lid before you knew what happened.
11:19Yeah, and the way Cole's riding this, as we're watching this battle for third or second,
11:22kind of closed up.
11:23It's kind of been about the same.
11:25But, yeah, what Cole's doing really well is, like, he's taking his time.
11:29He's all those slippery spots.
11:30He's just on the far inside of that or on the outside getting that traction.
11:34Nonetheless, he's still got a little over halfway.
11:37As we're watching Landon Gordon.
11:38Rod, great all day today.
11:41Looking good.
11:41Yes, not rare now to see Gordon around these podium spots.
11:45Running third, got that podium at Bud's Creek.
11:47Fourth at Ironman and the Pro Motocross campaign.
11:50And then was running third for a lot of the second moto last week.
11:53Finally came undone for him at the end.
11:55Lost a few spots.
11:57Now he has to deal with one of the veterans of the class, Cameron McAdoo.
12:00In what I believe will be the last run for him with the Monster Pro Circuit Kawasaki team.
12:06Had a great couple of years.
12:07Won a lot of races and a ton of podiums.
12:10But he's moving on.
12:12But McAdoo will always give you everything he has.
12:14And he's fighting right now from fourth.
12:17Grasher comes through next.
12:19Lux Turner sixth.
12:21Benekin-Brown.
12:22Deep Francesco is digging.
12:23He's made it up to ninth.
12:25Now would have to hope for a miracle.
12:27A mistake from Kitchen.
12:29But it will help him preserve seconded points.
12:33Still pays a pretty good chunk.
12:36Yeah, it does.
12:37I mean, I think Ryder D, when we saw these last couple of races,
12:40has been the elevation of him as a Ryder.
12:42So if he comes up short, he's got a lot to look forward to in the offseason
12:45because I think he showed himself some things.
12:48Having to execute like he did last weekend after having a bad start.
12:52And even today, he's riding great.
12:53And he'll make no doubt about it.
12:56If he has a successful offseason in training,
12:59he will be a premier contender in this 250 class.
13:02No doubt will.
13:04Yeah, and I was talking, Ricky, to Nate Ramsey,
13:07team manager over there at Rockstar Husqvarna,
13:09talking about the path that you just spoke about,
13:12that Ryder D Francisco is on.
13:14And Nate's just so proud of his progress this year.
13:17And you can tell how he understands what that potential is
13:22for the 2027 season that you're talking about.
13:25He said he's so calculated, he's so smart.
13:28And his words to him before he went out for even the first moto today was,
13:31this championship, if you were to get it today,
13:35is only the cherry on top of a cake that you already have
13:38because of what he's achieved and how far he's seen him come.
13:42So, yes, would Ryder love to have gotten a win here?

14:19Got Cho Shimoda behind him, and there you see Beaumare.
14:22And at this point, this Beaumare-D Francisco battle,
14:27they're there to pick up the pieces if Kitschip were to falter.
14:33Rider B is doing a great job.
14:34I mean, at this point, he's starting to get to these guys.
14:36They're all basically running the same lap time,
14:38so to be able to pick up that much speed to gain
14:42is going to be difficult on this racetrack.
14:43That's getting even harder to ride, so doing a great job.
14:47I think, too, James, if you look at it,
14:50I mean, obviously he wants to win this championship,
14:52but at the same time, you've got to look at big picture
14:55and what's in the horizon.
14:57This was a massive step forward, like what Will was talking about,
15:01and you have a lot to hang your hat on after this season.
15:04I mean, he continued to build and build and build,
15:07and like Will was saying, and, man, I know you want to win,
15:12but sometimes you've just got to look at the positives
15:15in a situation like this, and he's done an incredible job.
15:19Been a rough playoff campaign for last year's world champ.
15:22Joe Shimoda was coming back from a broken collarbone
15:25and then just a disaster mud race to open the playoffs in Ohio.
15:28Similar story.
15:30Bomer had a rough one in the mud.
15:31Bounced back with that win last week.
15:33Not able to replicate it this time.
15:36He's kind of turned it up here the last couple laps.
15:39Joe was the fastest guy, or third fastest guy on the track
15:42for the last lap, but Bomer was extremely close
15:45to that same lap time.
15:53Bomer is drifted back to fourth in points.
15:56He needs a few more positions to try to get third in the points
16:00and some big money away from Davies.
16:02Right now it would be Kitchen, DeFrancisco, Davies,
16:04his top three in the series.
16:05We mentioned in Moto1, Bomer, today, the decision was made
16:09that he is racing for Team USA at the Motocross of Nations.
16:12Hey, look at Joe.
16:14Shimoda's back to challenge DeFrancisco.
16:18Yeah, Joe, he's not back to challenge.
16:20He's back to pass as he makes that.
16:22But this is what Joe does.
16:24It just gets better and better.
16:25He'll, same thing, he'll give you everything he's got.
16:28He's had a rough year.
16:30Yeah.
16:30That gnarly neck injury coming into the season,
16:33and I thought that he did well, all things considered.
16:36He had the injury in pro motocross championships,
16:39so I'm not saying that this was to be expected,
16:43but at the same time, I think he's doing a great job coming back,
16:46and this is the Joe that we know and know his capabilities of, Will.
16:52I was talking to Ben Griffiths, Joe Shimoda's mechanic over there at Honda HRC earlier on,
16:58about that year that you talked about.
16:59It's just been rough.
17:01And those compounding kind of injuries,
17:03he said that's probably why we're seeing Joe maybe take a little bit longer,
17:07coming back to form.
17:08We saw him with very little prep time,
17:11five, six days on the bike, come into Supercross,
17:13and do really well.
17:14We saw him with seven, eight days before pro motocross come in and do really well.
17:19He was very strong early in those championships despite that.
17:22He said when that keeps happening and you never get back to return to your full form,
17:27he's like, that makes that a tougher reset,
17:29and that's what he's identifying in Joe now.
17:31It's just going to take a bit longer.
17:33He's just proud of him, honestly, that he's kind of come through this,
17:36and a lot of riders wouldn't be able to, and Joe is fighting through it.
17:39Yeah, I agree with that.
17:41And coming back from that neck injury, like we said,
17:43we were really surprised how good he looked.
17:45But it's not about speed with Joe, and he'll eventually get there.
17:48But now after those injuries, as Will just said, that mental battle,
17:52that's the biggest hurdle that he has to fight.
17:54So good to see Joe get him back.
17:55As we're watching this battle right here, Julian's going to go up the inside.
18:00And makes the move on DeFrancisco.
18:02So it has come unglued a bit for Ryder D,
18:05who's lost two spots on the last two laps.
18:07And look at the points as they run.
18:10DeFrancisco is in danger of losing second in the series to Davies.
18:17And Beaumair is stepping up.
18:20He's going out for Shimoda.
18:22I don't wonder if Vision, maybe it's becoming a problem riding in the rain.
18:26It's been a constant rain this entire moto.
18:30Yeah, that or for Ryder D, you know, maybe a realization of the dream
18:35and what the goal was.
18:37It definitely looks like the attitude of his riding style has changed a little bit,
18:42I thought, from what I could see there.
18:45Lux Turner on the 43.
18:46It's under fire here.
18:47RC Shimoda and Beaumair are on a roll.
18:50And they got to go.
18:52Yeah, you got to start wondering, does Ryder D understand that maybe he can lose those positions
18:57and it really wouldn't matter as long as he doesn't go anymore?
19:00Maybe there's something else.
19:01And he might get notified when he passes his mechanic coming up over here
19:05where he just lost the position from Julian Beaumair in the first lap,
19:09the other lap, the lack of course, sorry.
19:11And Shimoda makes the move on Turner.
19:14That's the brother of the WMX winner, Lala Turner.

19:18Everywhere Joe goes, Beaumair goes as well.

19:26Julian's going to be on the outside.

19:33That's what I was saying earlier about how the base of this track is really slick.

19:43Yeah, you notice how Julian got back on that bike.

19:46He saw that slippery stuff.
19:47Had to lean back.
19:50I want to mention, Gordon in third of the moto is actually set up for third overall
19:55and fifth in the points.
19:57Of SMX.
19:59Incredible job by the rookie.

20:01Great to see that.
20:04Really rallied late in the year, did Gordon.
20:07And a podium.
20:08That's going to pay a lot of money.
20:10Fifth in points will pay a lot of money.
20:11But the big one, we're down to the final minutes.
20:14Levi Kitchen looking at a $500,000 title bonus.
20:18Going to make around $700,000 total in these three playoff rounds.
20:25But maybe more than that, what it says about him delivering under pressure, there is no doubt today.
20:34Two starts when he needed the most.
20:36I need to find this guy, see where they're going afterwards.

20:41Well, first stop will be just at the truck.
20:43You know, they like to have a good time over there in the first place.

20:46And I'm happy if he's able to hold this together for two more laps.
20:51I mean, I'm happy not only for Levi, but Mitch Payton as well.
20:55I mean, I saw the stats earlier when we throwed it up on the screen.

20:59It's been a drought, again, for what was coveted as the best in the premier team in this division.
21:07And that's the thing, right?
21:08They've been so close.
21:09And this is a team that was built around winning.
21:12Ricky, you were a part of so many championships over there.
21:15And it was expected for them to win championships.
21:18And they go into this drought.
21:19They haven't won a title since 2019.
21:21And they've been so close so many times.
21:25And Levi Kitchen was the rider that was so close in a lot of those situations.
21:29To get over the hump here would mean so much for so many over there.
21:33Yeah, I mean, you're exactly right, JT.
21:35It was win or die over there, just straight up.
21:38If you didn't win, you were underperforming.
21:42And if you didn't win, it was never going to be because your equipment wasn't good enough to win on.
21:49And Mitch Payton would do, and the whole crew over there.
21:53Jim Bones Bacon, the suspension guy, for so long, they would do anything to get you comfortable.
22:00It's great to see them come back and be in this position.
22:04There's no doubt they got the bikes back in order, James.
22:06We talked a lot in bringing a pro motocross.
22:08It wasn't just Kitchen.
22:09It was Romano, Seth Hamaker.
22:11They got the bikes in order, but that last title piece has been tough to get.
22:14Yeah, and that's the great part.
22:16I mean, going through this downfall, like, hey, they all had to elevate Mitch Payton, and they did it.
22:22And you can see these bikes get better because not only do you see Levi, he's always going to be
22:25good.
22:26You see the other riders kind of step up.
22:28And so now that they've got the machines, everything's set up.
22:31So it puts more pressure on a guy like Levi because you know you have everything.
22:35Let's see if he can hang on for another lap to execute this thing.
22:37And I think about the resurgence of the Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki team and Mitch Payton when Joe Shimoto
22:44was riding for him a couple years ago.
22:46Yeah.
22:46All of a sudden, he started getting good starts in the pro motocross championship.
22:49And listen, this is a horsepower class.
22:52And the more horsepower you do, the more horsepower you have, the better you are going to do.
22:58And when these bikes are up front on the start, that just means they got something special under the hood.
23:05But the new dominant team in this class has been this squad, the Yamaha team.
23:09Davies is going to get his first career playoff overall win.
23:12He will jump back into third in the seating at the end, third in points.
23:18But it slipped away, bike problems in the mud while dominating in the first race.
23:23That cost him.
23:24And then a pair of crashes.
23:25That's on him.
23:26He didn't get this one done title-wise.
23:28But he reminded everybody how fast he is.
23:31Cole Davies.
23:33One wins it at the SMX World Championship closer.
23:37But it's a long time coming.
23:39And now, finally, it can be said, Levi Kitchen is a champion.
23:45He has won the SMX World Championship and breaks Pro Circuit's long title drought.
24:02And it was clutch, 6.0, the start average all season long.
24:08A whole shot and a second-place start when he needed it.
24:12There's his teammate, McAdoo.
24:16It's their final ride together as teammates.
24:25This guy battled injuries all year as well, kept it quiet.
