01:27have Levi kitchen right now because why the guys that are closest to him for this
01:32championship opportunity are way in the pack rider DeFrancisco seven Julian Boehmeyer
01:3813 they got a lot of work to do talk about a clutch start great job by the 47 well

01:45basically have not seen this from kitchen a whole shot all year and just when he
01:50needed it most he did it yeah but at the same time you're gonna see Levi really
01:55push the envelope these opening laps and just get away and then the nerve starts
01:59kicking in you start thinking about okay I've done the executed the first part you
02:03got to calm the nerves and let this race play on out because the one thing you don't
02:07want to do which we saw it a couple thousand outdoors him up front throwing it
02:10away but so far so good for the 47 pulling out a bit on Thrasher then Gordon
02:15Boland Davies and Boehmeyer are getting aggressive they're moving toward that
02:20Davies Gordon Thrasher group SMX track crew tilled this racetrack up so it's
02:25going to take a few laps for it to take a set for these lines to really work in
02:30here early but Levi kitchen doing a great job right now man a clear track clean air
02:36making it happen in a time of need saw some hitch in that corner RC is that the
02:41tilling the deep dirt you're talking about they did not get that corner clean
02:44no they didn't get that corner clean at all but James I want to go back to that
02:48start I did not think Levi kitchen was going to be able to come around first
02:52place because like you were talking about it pinches off so early yeah and the
02:57problem was if he didn't get the jump you saw him all the back of the bike trying to
03:01get there and he was close enough to when he break he didn't have anybody on the
03:05inside and he was able to squeeze the rounding and get that start so plug
03:09start by Levi now you get in the battle the teammates coming up Cole Davies
03:13running fourth spot hard to believe it's well I should say it's hard to believe
03:18because these guys are the toughest around incredible athletes but Cole Davies
03:22after that lick he took last week great to see him out here battling
03:28and the key point is that Davies has stretched a little bit
03:31of Bomer Follin DeFrancisco see Bomer and Orange has got to go
03:36got to get to the front and close to kitchen but he's gonna have to deal with
03:40this trio of Yamahas first right there where I've highlighted on the left hand
03:44side of your screen keep your eye out on those two riders there they are the
03:48closest in the points to Levi kitchen they definitely need to come up through
03:53the pack and you got to think Levi he's out front he's not looking at the guy in
03:57second third and fourth he's looking at the rider in fifth and seventh or our
04:01fifth and seventh right now with those two so the hard part is with this 250
04:05class if you're not worried about the guys behind and you got to continue to
04:08race for because if you allow those guys close Julian's closing in on those and
04:12then you have a race for the lead and that's exactly what the 13 wants to see
04:16well that's right like James was talking about you're looking where your next guy is in
04:20the championship Levi able to look over on those big doubles and see where Bomer is
04:26and where Francisco is that is great Davies on the inside of his teammate
04:31Gordon can't quite make it work and as they slow each other up that might help
04:36Bomer he's trying to close Davies again gonna give it a shot yeah it's good to
04:42see Gordon up here landing and I think if you know Cole was racing for a
04:46championship he probably allowed that pass but you know Landon's out here racing
04:50for his best finish too so good to see the youngster hang in there with his
04:55teammate and it's tough to pass in this situation like I was talking about on the
04:58first lap until this track takes a set really there's only one main line that is
05:03working well but as this race goes on the insides will start to form up as well in
05:08alternate lines and they'll make it a bit easier to make a move
05:14talking to Davies yesterday said it's actually gonna be kind of fun to run
05:17without pressure he's seventh in points mathematically still in it but it would
05:21take a miracle so to win the title so really he's just out to win the race and
05:25he said it's fun to have a little less pressure for once yeah what I think he's
05:29doing he wants to let these guys know that hey I'm just because I don't win this
05:33championship I'm still in that guy so I think it's an important race for him but
05:37nonetheless Cole's doing a good job he's just got to continue to stay up

05:53Bomer now dealing with Di Francesco who has caught him they've made two passes on
06:05Boland
06:05and Kitschett taking advantage of all 1.5 second lead I mean Levi's had good
06:10speed I mean I watched him yesterday when they had access to the track just for
06:14press riding he looked comfortable on the motorcycle earlier today qualifying
06:19practice he was out front just putting in really strong laps here's that battle I
06:25mentioned Bomer and Di Francesco so they have both cleared Boland and now it is
06:29wheel to wheel between two of the three title contenders but they got Kitschett
06:34well up the road well the good thing for them that this is two motos so you just
06:39got to continue to climb up in this race and hopefully if you can catch Levi great
06:43but you got to get up inside that top three because you put both photos together
06:47and that equals out to overall so yeah you might not be able to win this race but
06:51your championship still can be won with a third place in this moto I'll tell you
06:55what what would be a really good break for Bomer and Ryder Di Francesco is if
07:00Thrasher was able to challenge Levi Kitschett and perhaps get by him because
07:04that would actually throw that would slow Kitschett up just a little it's
07:08happening right now Thrasher now has Kitschett in sight JT he doesn't could you
07:13imagine if Thrasher could find a way to win this race it would be so Nate
07:17Thrasher every time he's not the story he finds a way to make himself the
07:22story and I originally wanted to come in here and talk to you about the live by
07:26the sword die by the sword inside starting gate of Levi Kitschett but I
07:29have to shift to Thrasher and how he's inserting himself into the race for the
07:33win here yeah that is certainly the reputation of Thrasher just when you
07:38start to count him out he pulls a win out of nowhere that's the scenario right
07:42now yeah he's one of those guys I mean that's why he's gonna get another
07:46opportunity next year he's moving teams and he's just one of those guys you
07:50always you never count him out very similar to Pierce Brown in my opinion
07:55yeah I agree with you and the races that he's won before he's been on these
07:58Speedway style tracks the more fast racetracks so not surprising to see him
08:02now I'm gonna tell you this this is Levi's in the danger zone right here this is
08:07what I said earlier when you hold shot you just run just go wide open and then the
08:11reality kind of sinks in so I think these next two laps are very important
08:15for him to stabilize his gap starting to see a small you know huge small mistakes
08:19but being the first time being in a position is not surprising either he's
08:23doing a great job so far yeah he is James he's got to really pay attention on
08:28himself race ahead of him do not worry about what's behind you especially the
08:32first the first three guys behind him with Thrasher Gordon Davies not
08:37championship contenders and DeFrancisco getting closer and closer to
08:43Bomair and Davies no longer right there with Gordon he actually lost a little
08:47ground so what direction will this battle go can the 13 and 34 get to Davies or
08:55will Davies go back to Gordon these guys run in very similar lap times James over
09:00here 117 for the most part Ryder DeFrancisco at the fastest lap of the race the
09:05last lap the 116 though will you guys were talking about the injury from the big crash
09:12that Cole Davies had last week so I was just checking in with his kind of team and
09:15family on that and they said like he was he was pretty banged up his elbow he had
09:20essentially what they call a Charlie horse a dead leg there on one side great pass
09:24there for Collier clearly looks a lot better this weekend guys and they said
09:28partly that was just to do with the therapy that immediately came from Doc G
09:33Dr. Gubinick there who looks after him and he was just praising him really for just being on top of
09:38that
09:38last weekend and being able to pull back to this kind of racing form this weekend
09:42yeah I talked about a little bit Will great to see him back out here but I was just
09:46telling James while you were talking here that man I think that Cole Davies is going to
09:50march up front oh look at this battle right here wow DeFrancisco marching up
09:54and making the move on Beaumare that is very critical for the points yeah that's
09:59actually I don't know if Julian led him by but almost smart because what they don't
10:03want to do they don't want to start battling slowing each other down and
10:06Rotterdee's look great all weekend long really since that second race last
10:10weekend I've seen this type of ride but I'm with you Ricky I think 37 is going to get
10:14it in this party and for them for Rotterdee and you know Julian Beaumare that's exactly
10:19what they want and it's been a busy weekend for Beaumare for a couple of reasons he's
10:24got to get to work because DeFrancisco trying to get away I want to show you the side of
10:29the screen here those are the riders that are out with injury Lottie Van Drunen went
10:32down in practice yesterday for WMX Barsha hurt himself last week Chance Hymas who is
10:38part of Team USA for Motocross of Nations hurt his wrist yesterday oh and a rider is
10:44down is that Gordon that we just caught on his second thrash or second place anyway
10:48the 13 of Beaumare he has raised his hand and I believe he will now be taking the spot
10:53on Team USA from Motocross of Nations for Hymas so that will be Team USA next week so a lot
11:00on the plate for Beaumare he's got to focus and I'm just thinking for confidence James like
11:06we're in a championship situation if you're Ryder DeFrancisco you have to be feeling it and
11:12that confidence rising you're in third place right now you are buried in the pack Levi still
11:17in arm's reach yeah he is I mean he's coming up along with the 37 and again once Cole gets
11:24here way this track is coming Cole was a 115 over a second fastener now leader Levi Levi bumped
11:31his pound up but nonetheless they're closing this is Nate Thrasher for second place does he
11:36get a little help right here Ricky oh he's gonna go up here and feels no he doesn't he
11:41feels the pressure from Cole Davies on the inside and the front wheel just climbs out of that rut he
11:47gets cross rutted and it is game over hate to see that for Thrasher he's riding so well
11:51that'll move DeFrancisco to third he's gone around Gordon Bomair has to follow him through so now he's
11:59challenging Gordon St. Julian do this all year long just when it looks like he's out he continues to
12:06come back and he is one of the fittest guys out here we've seen some of these second races he's
12:11been the strongest so I don't expect him to fade off as this race go I actually expect the opposite
12:16to get stronger see what happens to close that gap up in front of him another nature has been
12:21absolutely wonderful to these great racers here this weekend so I wouldn't think fatigue would be
12:27too bad the temperatures are just right oh nice job keeping it low over those doubles Bomair still though
12:35not able to make the move on Gordon important pass for him Landon's run really good fast enough to
12:43where you know Julian's not that much faster so it almost kind of holds you up so important for
12:47him to continue going but even a rider in third place this is where I go and you heard me
12:52say
12:52sometimes you got to have that rabbit to chase for a rider D he can't see the two in front
12:57of him so
12:57sometimes it gets harder as a rider to look forward to really find that pace when the guys are too

13:02front start right behind you maybe these two will close in on you oh Bomair missed the line almost went
13:08down they wanted to focus forward and go with Di Francesco try to ignore this pressure good luck with
13:14it he's on the inside right here James and gonna meet him at the exit Bomair makes the move on

13:23yeah made a business of business right there didn't he did but a lot of passing going on in that
13:29corner right
13:29there many passes go down great pass by Julian Bomair he'll have some clean air some fresh track in front
13:38of him maybe close back into the gap to the rear tire of rider D Francisco was turning in another

13:46lap he was the second fastest on the track the first was Cole Davies all running listen to this lap

13:53right here okay yeah Levi kitchen he had a 116.8 Cole Davies had a 116.8 and Ryder D
14:00Francisco running a 116.8
14:04the problem is Bomair you can see he's three and a half seconds off of D Francisco who he started
14:09ahead of so the Red Bull KTM man here from Arizona has to get going he's the third of the
14:16riders that
14:17were the top three in points coming into this this is what I love about the SMX playoffs point system
14:23have their regular points of the first round then they double the second round and for championship
14:28weekend they are triple points put the pressure on these guys when they welcome to global racing

15:03if he's there almost let him go right you don't want to even slow yourself down just jump behind him
15:08but he's doing a great job really impressed for a lot of these guys to continue going JT yeah James

15:14understand what you're saying there but man I struggle with that only because of what the math can do
15:19in race two let's just assume kitchen doesn't get such a good start and he's fighting for position
15:24a lot of DeFrancisco and Bomer this one position and how the overall would factor in in those points
15:30could mean everything well so I think jumping in behind him is a lot of simple man it could cost

15:35thinking about race two yeah I I see your point there JT but I'm gonna go with my man James

15:41I wouldn't defend this position too hard on over Davies because if Davies is faster you're just gonna burn up
15:48a whole bunch of energy you're probably gonna force too many situations we're risking falling
15:54down and you could take what could be a possible easy second place and turn it into something behind
16:00Ryder DeFrancisco yeah I'm with you and I think you got to think about a lot of these guys haven't
16:05been in a position you know to be in this spot so it changes a lot but Levi I got
16:09to give him credit
16:10because he's stepping up when Cole started running those bats a lot of times Levi did it actually all
16:15for these guys going back to Julian Bomer they're putting in their best time so this is what we
16:20wanted every athlete lot the moment spotlight they step up and they're showing as much
16:25Levi's starting to stretch that gap again got to give it to Levi Kitchen as well there's been so many
16:30times he's been the bridesmaid coming up just a little short on the championships I go back a couple
16:37years ago against RJ Hampshire the divisional supercross championship in the 250 division then the most
16:43recent the pro motocross championship coming up short and now here he is with another opportunity
16:49to seal it up he is doing a fantastic job early on we go back about a month ago the
16:55pro motocross
16:56finale that was a disaster round he had a shot at Davies for that title it was over in just
17:02a couple of
17:02laps after some crashes now to show this type of championship medal only a few weeks later an incredible
17:09180 rebound for him and fending off Davies a little further back now you've got Gordon
17:16and another monster Yamaha star racing machine Pierce Brown thrasher after the crash is seven
17:22Boland Dundee and Schwartz on the bar X Toyota Redlands Yamaha is 10 Bennett 11
17:30and time running out three minutes and a lap left
17:35round around the outside
17:38they're closing in on Julian Balmere right in front of them too so they sure are yeah I don't know

17:44Julian lost that toe to Ryder D but nonetheless he's starting to go back which is quite surprising
17:49because I thought he'd do the opposite he was a no man's land there because Ryder D Francisco
17:54pulled away and Julian was just kind of yeah out there by himself and it's allowed Gordon and
18:01Brown to close the gap there you can see it they are right on him for the most part not
18:06what you would
18:06have expected from Balmere who had an 18th in the mud first playoff race and then won last week so
18:13he showed what he could do when his back is against the wall back to the lead and Davies has
18:18caught kitchen again this is big yeah this is big now you know sometimes in this situation you see
18:25Levi go to the far inside he hasn't went there all all day so let's see if he takes a
18:29look over how
18:30does he fight and hang on this position or does he kind of allow Cole Davies to go they got
18:35the
18:35nice gap on Ryder D there he goes to the outside right here it's going to be interesting to see
18:41how hard the 47 will defend this position James yeah tell him about his body language I don't think
18:47he's going to defend it too hard but still one thing with Levi where Cole's got to be
18:52understanding too if Levi gets to about a lap left then I actually say he should race to try to
18:57hold
18:57on you know one thing you want to do in this situation you don't want to over blow up like
19:01you said but if you're that close one mistake by Cole you can win that until JT's point that might
19:06be
19:06dividends towards the end 100% in that situation Davies on the outside
19:13good job by kitchen to get that corner clean Davies fight back again to the lead you're going to see
19:18that look like there's going to be a reaction here from Levi great pass by Cole
19:26do you think Levi thought better of it yeah well I think you know he he did his best but
19:32sometimes
19:32when Cole's Cole we know has that speed and when he's got it going you can't do anything about it
19:38so
19:38right the one thing you want to do is just like you don't want to throw it away as we're
19:42watching
19:42these guys battling for sixth seventh and eighth yeah but that's respect you know that's respect for
19:47Levi and his craft why because if he knows if he can't push that pace then why even try look
19:54at the
19:54big picture right here he is in front of Ryder DeFrancisco he's giving himself an opportunity
19:59to fight for this championship rather than trying to go for the moto win he's in a great spot it's
20:05really
20:05not going to make that big of a difference save yourself well that's what makes this two moto
20:10format so intriguing kitchen pulled the start that he needed maybe the start of his life
20:14but it might only give him one position over DeFrancisco all DeFrancisco has to do is reverse
20:20that in the second moto and that could be enough to flip the overall and the title you never know

20:26the two moto format this is a battle between Brown and Gordon best one on the track Bomair has pulled
20:32back her head yeah and Jason just to talk about that more I I completely agree with you I think
20:38if Levi would have got a start he just allowed Cole to just go around then then I think it'd

20:42mistake but the pace that Cole has he was coming anyway so that's where I'm going you got what you
20:48need you really wasn't going to stop him the only thing that could happen you try to run that you
20:53end up going down so it wasn't Levi really letting go I think Cole's just riding that good
20:58you don't have a choice at this moment well I was going to say we're being generous to say that

21:01had the decision to make sometimes there's nothing he can't do and it this is a great battle you
21:06almost see a wonder Pierce was going to go to the inside to try to get him hit by Gordon

21:13makes a little mistake there in the corner but able good rebound he defends the inside if you're

21:44Pierce Brown is another guy that he can win remember two years ago he won the final SMX playoff race

21:51Las Vegas great to see him coming back from an injury with a solid finish yeah he's had to do

21:58the wild card race had to qualify in the afternoon for all three of these and making the most of

22:03would actually be uh into the top 10 in points he'd be up to eighth in points make himself a
22:09lot of money
22:09for having been out of the top 20 when the playoffs began can Bomer even hold off Brown he cannot
22:17afford to
22:17lose more spots last lap and it's going to be the title contenders it appears going two three four
22:24quarter and Davey's looking at the moto win yeah I think Julian kind of lost that toe to Roger Diaz
22:33watching Cole Davies there it is Davies he's back he takes the first moto win maybe the title is out

22:40reach but he still showed he's the van at this 250 class and don't forget there's 50 grand to win
22:47these races overall look at Brown Brown is not giving up on Bomer last turn Bomer gives him a look

22:57holds on it will be Kitchen second that is huge for the title DeFrancisco and Bomer follow him through
23:08great racing and really great job to Levi Kitchen and Ryder DeFrancisco both doing a fantastic job
