Downpours are leading to flash flooding risks in Florida this week, but they've primarily brought beneficial drought relief to the state.

00:00So take a look at our top rainfall totals from the last 48 hours. Three, four, five plus inches of
00:05rain. Well, it's good because we need it, but this can be a lot if you're caught in a downpour.
00:10Now
00:10thankfully we haven't really seen the flash flood reports, which are certainly not out of the
00:14question, but thankfully this has not been a widespread flooding instance. We have seen some
00:19strong to severe storms. A lot of this has been South Florida, kind of the southeast side of the
00:24peninsula here. North of Miami yesterday we had some problems. Further north today, that's where
00:28the severe thunderstorm warnings have been issued over the last couple of hours. The wind is a more
00:33widespread problem, though. Wind advisory is the same places as yesterday. It continues until 5 a.m.
00:39tomorrow, so just keep that in mind. Unsecured objects, they can become projectiles outside.
00:44The wind at least just enough to be annoying. You need a little extra hairspray when you head out
00:49and about. Take a look at wind right now. 25 mile per hour in Tampa, 33 in Jacksonville, into West
00:55Palm
00:55Beach. We're at 43, so not the craziest wind. Certainly not going to cause widespread damage
01:01or anything like that, but you should expect some impacts. Now here's who is dealing with
01:05the rain. It's scattered, so you definitely have your good moments, which, by the way,
01:11is where the AccuWeather app, free mobile app, by the way. Our MinuteCast feature can really help
01:15you out if you're trying to get that errand in right before the rain hits. It'll tell you when the
01:19rain
01:19starts and stops for your exact location. Take a look at this on Future Radar, and then I want to
01:24talk
01:24about the rest of the region, too. Now tomorrow, things become even more scattered. It's a sign
01:29that the system is really wrapping up. 6 p.m., yeah, a few scattered downpours into South Florida.
01:35You've really been hit the hardest in some instances. Friday, a few lingering showers, and you can see
01:41further north, things are exploding. So much activity in the southern plains, the southeast.
01:47However, you stay pretty dry. Now you have drought, too, but Florida has it worse, so if the rain was
01:53going to be
01:53somewhere, it's good that it's been in Florida to help with this extreme and exceptional drought
01:58across most of the state. But let's head further north, because there's a lot going on starting
02:03tomorrow in Augusta, where we've had delays at the airport because of volume. No surprise!
02:08People heading to the Masters Tournament. Now, this is great weather. Think about this, though.
02:14As we get into the weekend 80s, AccuWeather real feels in the 90s. Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses,
02:20hydrating, all things to keep in mind.
