00:00Plenty of lightning ahead for Florida, but not just that. That's not the only danger. We're talking about a higher
00:05risk of flash flooding, especially for those of you in the dark green here. Now, when we're talking about rainfall
00:10totals, roughly speaking, we're talking about four plus inches of rain for the dark green. We're talking mostly two to
00:19four inches for the light green here. AccuWeather Local Stormax, though, important to note, up to 12 inches a foot
00:26of rain. So let's break down the details moving forward here.
00:29We need the rain, that's for sure, because we have just significant, significant drought across most of the state. A
00:35lot of us in the extreme or even some into the exceptional category, into the panhandle, especially places like Tallahassee
00:42and getting towards Jacksonville. So this is certainly going to help. We look at future rainfall. You're seeing the totals
00:48add up, reflecting a lot of what I showed you on the map, but just wanted to give you an
00:52idea of how it progresses. Very slow moving.
00:55So through Tuesday, Wednesday, into Thursday, we're continuing to add on the rainfall totals here. And again, this area, central
01:06Florida over towards the east coast, that's where the biggest risk is for flash flooding. But that's not the only
01:12concern.
01:13We also have some coastal hazards because of that onshore flow, rough surf, rip currents, though, you're probably not going
01:19to be at the beach anyway. But if you are, keep an eye out for those and any local alerts
01:24from the lifeguards at that particular beach, things that you want to pay close attention to, especially if you're at
01:28a beach you're unfamiliar with.
01:30And then, of course, some beach erosion is going to be a bigger issue as well. We look at the
01:34southeast as a whole. We're staying mostly dry. It's really just Florida that's seeing the problems, just like I showed
01:41you on future rainfall there.
01:43Take a look at temperatures, though, and looking at the region as a whole for your Tuesday, trending below where
01:49we should be this time of year in places like Jacksonville and Tampa.
01:52No surprise with the clouds and the rain, though further north Atlanta. I mean, you're a few degrees above where
01:58you should be. Nashville right in the ballpark of your historical average. Charlotte right exactly in line with that 70
02:04degree forecasted high and historical average.
02:06So looking a OK for the rest of the region, zeroing in on somewhere like Tampa, looking at the next
02:12seven days. Tuesday, Wednesday, maybe a little bit lingers into Thursday.
02:15But for the most part, we dry out just in time for the weekend.
