00:54going to have a tough road to hold right here Tomac and Hayden were on the inside of a Moto

00:58hurt both Prado and Lawrence will it happen again the pressure rises the revs come up

01:21talking about execution in that 250 class we just saw Levi do the same thing Jorge does it again and
01:26Deacon getting a little squirrely there going into the rollers this is going to be interesting why
01:33because if Hayden wants to win this championship remember Jorge has to be outside of the top three
01:40overall so there might have to be some fancy footwork if you know what I'm talking about Ricky I have

01:53close it is going to be popping in here if Prado wins the Moto he's the world champion it's that

01:59Deacon Lawrence and the rest have to pass him
02:05Lawrence was side by side with Deacon over the tunnel jump came up short doubling off of it
02:10and that allowed Deacon to lock down that second place spot and now concentrate on the 26 yeah you can

02:17James looks like Deacon is taking his time a little bit right here early on in this moto getting a
02:24feel for that
02:24track completely different than the first moto yeah and you got to assume that all the pressures on Jorge at
02:29this
02:29point so you know as a racer being in that championship Deacon probably knows he's not going to ride the
02:34same and the fact is if I'm hating I'm taking my time let this thing go Jorge's not pulling away
02:39from me
02:40it's game time oh Deacon similar area where Lawrence had a problem a lap ago almost goes down a lot
02:48of racing left 18 minutes on a lap
02:50rocks in his eighth web fourth could it be down to these three we saw last weekend Hayden once that
02:58track kind of went away got slippery maybe he struggled a little bit more than he did earlier today so
03:02he's got to do is I
03:04know Jorge's right there but he's got to keep it calm because this track will come up and bite you
03:07as it goes on Ricky I think it'll get better and better once they get a little bit of the
03:11slickness on yeah 100% it has stopped raining
03:17at the current moment so that'll help it JT dry up a little bit yeah track will start to work
03:22in that moisture will kind of mix in with the drier dirt here but I just kind of want to
03:27talk about Prado because
03:28this is what he does best if you let Prado ride around on his own at the front he will
03:35ride away with this championship it is on Deacon to put pressure on him this is what Prado has done
03:40his entire life is get a good start and manage races from the front so you know this little gap
03:46it seems like there's a battle waiting to set up but Deacon is going to have to get up there
03:50and force the issue if he wants to get this title
03:53yeah I think he will the fact that he has oh that was close Jorge went to go scrub that
03:57you saw him catch his foot peg and Hayden watching all that to me Ricky yeah hey we saw Hayden
04:04make a few mistakes the fact is he's still there and you know he's going to be revving that Yamaha
04:09wide open let Jorge feel like he's a lot closer to what he is but here's what has changed the
04:14game they have begun to drop Hunter Lawrence and if it plays out like this even if Deacon makes the
04:20move on Prado
04:22and Prado and Prado is starting to look back a little bit Prado could still get second in this photo
04:27and still win the title it would be just enough to be third overall and still hold it yeah but
04:34but let's make no mistake about this do you really think that Hayden is just going to try to make
04:39a clean pass
04:40he has to sweep the leg no he knows Hayden he knows that's right that's right I don't think that
04:49scenario is going to happen to be honest with you
04:51well we saw Deacon in that position last year and yeah he did not settle for just making the pass
04:55ah Nickel Harrop it's like it's run here and SMX is done trouble there for the Danish rider
05:04so in this situation James if I'm Jorge Prado and I have third place locked up overall if I get
05:11second
05:11behind Hayden Deacon I'm if he starts if Hayden starts pressuring me I'm pulling over and letting him go by
05:17and I'm just going to ride it on ride it on home to the checkers yeah but the the fact
05:22is Hayden's got this
05:23overall locked up the way he's got it the biggest threat for him was Ken he's a little bit farther
05:27back
05:28right so the fact that you see Hayden taking these chances trying to get to Jorge tells you that
05:33he wants to slow this race down so if I'm Jorge to what you said if you let him go
05:39I actually think
05:39Hayden would slow down as well because he doesn't have anybody around him at the moment to really
05:44worry about the overall he's still going to get it you know 100 percent
05:50now Roxton second in moto one bad start here he's six but he's moving forward
05:56that helps Prado eventually that's one of the other contenders pretty far back now
06:02but it could all pivot on Deacon getting aggressive and he said yesterday in the press conference
06:08last year I was willing to break my collarbone trying to win the title he was stalking Joe
06:13Shimoda all over the track he was not going to just pass him once and let it go will Deacon
06:18do that again and now Hunter Lawrence starting to creep back into the picture
06:23if you add the stats up that was only for half a million it's for a million so
06:28you go a little bit but now you're starting to see you know like you said Hunter Lawrence
06:32creep up and if these two start getting into it believe me this 96 is going to be there
06:36to pick up the pieces and behind him you got Cooper Webb lurking as well
06:42because of Roxton being pretty far back
06:48Prado could still cling to third overall even if
06:52Deacon and Lawrence pass him he doesn't have to deal with Roxton right now and that's going to make
06:58his path to get third overall much easier and we're only six minutes into this 20 minute
07:04and one lap moto
07:08if Roxton can pass Hampshire though then the math gets tricky
07:12I think Prado is still going to have to hold off Lawrence if Roxton can make up another position
07:18well they're going to have to reel Jorge in right now
07:21and Jorge is doing a fantastic job of keeping that lead right at about a second and a half
07:28pushing on two so there's still a lot of work left for both Hayden and Hunter
07:35can't hit but you can't catch that's right yep we had the anticipation of what Deacon would do if
07:40he can get there it's if right now 1.6 seconds the guy yeah I think if you're Jorge in
07:47this scenario as
07:47hard as it might be you you guys race four you got a race to win this race because I
07:52don't think it does
07:53you any good to allow this 38 so unlike Levi and maybe some of the other scenarios where you're like
07:58okay I got something to play with I do not think you want to get close to this 38 because
08:03a clean pass probably won't happen and you're gonna bring all these other guys in here as well
08:09there's Roxton he is back at six right now closing on Hampshire
08:13Roxton can get to a 2-5 and to get the 2-5 scores which he would if he could
08:18pass Hampshire
08:20then it gets a little dangerous for Prado to hang on for a podium if he starts getting passed
08:26yeah there's so much so much that can happen but I go back to Prado last weekend and how well
08:32he
08:32was riding in similar somewhat similar conditions where it got really slick on those 90 degree corners
08:40if you guys remember and a lot of mistakes were being made and man he was just chewing them up
08:45right
08:45there yeah Ricky no no you're 100 right and I think on this type of track because of that it
08:52actually
08:52helps Jorge a lot because it makes Hayden have to tame it down so much he can't just let it
08:57lose
08:58as you're watching Ken Roxton close in on RJ it's taming Hayden so he can't get to you so Jorge
09:04keeps
09:04this gap the way his track is is helping him out quite a bit yeah that that and I I
09:10personally feel
09:10the steel chassis works a little bit better in those conditions as well because of the flex and the
09:24first two now that gives a little bit less breathing room for Prado now if he gets passed by Deegan
09:30and
09:30Lawrence he goes off the podium he loses the title
09:35yeah that section gets really tricky right there because that hard base and because they're turning
09:40that bike wants to unload on them so their bodies lean in one way the wheels are trying to slide
09:45the
09:45bike almost slams into the wall and if you don't get that body right Ricky that thing can kick you
09:50on the
09:50inside and you're hanging on. 100% you have that hard base like you said and in that sand the
09:55wheel spinning as well which makes it even more difficult because the wheel is spinning it's not
10:02loading the suspension down as well and it's like you're on ice. Yeah I was actually talking to
10:09Charlie Tadden from WMX she's like I always wondered why the sand looks so difficult in
10:13Supercross and she's like until I rode it yesterday I could not believe how difficult
10:18that was compared to this riding sand on an outdoor track. James we were talking about it yesterday I
10:23mean rarely do we see a track and we're like man I want to go ride that thing well I
10:28was I was in that
10:29situation uh yesterday and today in the first motos but these kind of conditions no thanks. Yeah because
10:37it has Supercross suspension and the sand as you said not pulling that bike down suspension's really
10:41stiff so it makes it hard so so far it's so good these guys are dealing with it JT. They
10:47are and
10:47just kind of watching the status quo remain the same here but I'm going to do a little
10:51foreshadowing here. What happened in race one that was a big story the lappers were a storyline and who
10:58has had an issue with lappers in their history and that is none other than the 26 of Jorge Prado
11:03which is something to think about when we get to the late stages of this race. Can Prado manage that
11:09in a situation where he's had trouble in the past? That is an excellent point JT and Deegan is getting
11:13closer. Hey folks stock up on Monster Energy drinks at price cutter halfway through this moto.
11:20Whoa! Prado almost went over the falls. Nerves are coming up and remember what Hayden said
11:27that first moto. He said I don't want to get some people crumbling. Well you know he was talking
11:32about right here so that mistake that Jorge just made you've got to believe Hayden senses that
11:38and he's like nope you know I got him I have him. Jorge's doing a great job but that 38
11:43smelling
11:44smelling it right here. It's the rivalry you didn't think you needed. Two very proud athletes here Prado
11:51and Deegan two totally different backgrounds and here they are meeting for the world title.
11:59Jorge's so strong in that sand section. Well you don't know the you don't know the strategy here and I
12:04want to go too deep into it because it's just it's just an idea and do you is there ever
12:12a chance
12:12that you think that Hayden has what it takes and could close in the gap to Prado but doesn't want
12:18to do anything yet because he doesn't want to give Prado a whole lot of time to make up any
12:24positions
12:24that he would possibly lose if Hayden tried something or is that too far out there? Well I think
12:30Jorge's riding really good to be honest with you. I feel like if Hayden's doing everything to get to
12:35him just from some of the mistakes I've seen both these guys make but it looks like Hayden's more
12:40on the edge than Jorge especially when you get to this sand section when the track kind of slows down
12:44it gets really technical. Jorge's really strong through this section to see if he pulls the gap
12:49where Hayden might be faster but Jorge's more consistent just like how he gets that bike straight up
12:55and down makes this try to arch the corner a lot better than these sand rollers. Yeah look how his
13:00rear wheel follows the ground a little better especially coming out of this corner right there
13:05Hayden is always on the edge and has been the whole race right there I think you're saying.
13:13Prado able to put the power to the ground right there and then Hayden has to work so much harder
13:18and all of that you know what I was saying was assuming that
13:23Hayden was faster and holding back but I don't think that's the case.
13:32And it might hinge on this. Lawrence can he close? Right now Prado could afford
13:39to go back to second and would still win the title but if Lawrence gets him it starts getting very
13:44dicey
13:44it might come actually down to Brogson potentially moving up and bumping Prado off the overall podium
13:50and costing him the title. Can Lawrence get back in this fight?
13:58Yeah it was just so hard to make up any time on this track and a lot of riders doing
14:03the same thing
14:04and have to have a little bit of help maybe they could do some of the lappers for some help
14:08as well. We're starting to run out of time in laps. You know these laps
14:15with them being a minute and 20 seconds don't have a whole lot of laps left to get the job
14:21done.
14:23So here's the scenario that Prado cannot be aware of at all.
14:27If Ken Roxxon is able to make his way to fourth and get Cooper Webb, it's all order.
14:33Then Deegan passing Prado costs Prado the title because then both Lawrence, Roxxon and Deegan
14:39would finish ahead of him overall, push Prado to fourth.
14:44Prado has to hold on to win this moto. He has very little
14:47because if he goes to second and then Roxxon passes Webb he's done.
14:51Yeah, Roxxon's got a lot of work to do. He's over six seconds behind Coop. Coop riding
14:58really well tonight, so he's going to need some help here.
15:02Hey, you got to give it up for Jorge.
15:03100%.
15:04Terrible first moto and what a bounce back and handling the pressure so far.
15:09Yeah, completely different guy on the motorcycle.
15:13And Prado, a guy beat up. We saw him limping last week.
15:17Chased a jump in that. Oh!
15:19Hold on to it.
15:21Almost went down.
15:23That's a wake-up call. That made me save it at the night right there.
15:27That was close.
15:28Seen a couple of those.
15:30Back to Prado.
15:32The gap remains 1.4 between he and Deegan.
15:36And lap traffic.
15:37Uh-oh.
15:38Bad spot. Get caught in. Laffer does a good job of going inside,
15:41but you can see how that threw off his whole rhythm.
15:44Misses that inside.
15:46Hayden sees that wheel.
15:49Guys, I'm just trying to reflect on the last two years here with Jorge Prado.
15:53Just thinking about everything that he's been through.
15:55And I got to talk to him about that exact subject yesterday.
15:58And he said, this time last year was basically the low point in his entire career.
16:04And we have to look back at what he came off, too,
16:06because he just won his second back-to-back MXGP Premier Class Championship.
16:10So he said, I went from the highest high, made the commitment to come over here to the U.S.,
16:16ended up basically at the lowest low point,
16:19and now I have the red plate and the potential to put this back right,
16:24to kind of right this shit.
16:25And I asked him, does this make you stronger, what you've been through?
16:29And here we go.
16:29Confident Prado, as we've talked about.
16:31He said, no, I'm already strong.
16:33That's why I'm here.
16:34That's why I got through it.
16:35He said, but it did make me appreciate it.
16:37And I asked him if he ever thought about returning to Spain.
16:41He said, absolutely not.
16:42I'm here for a reason.
16:43We are here to win titles, not just carry red plates.
16:47So just the mental fortitude that Jorge Prado has,
16:51is this going to carry him to the end?
16:53It's tough to believe that he's going to have any give up in him at this point, guys.
16:58And that might make all the difference here, Will.
17:00Five to go.
17:02It's a mechanic.
17:03They call him Pedro.
17:03Richard Sterling saying he got one second over the 38.
17:07And that 38, that number looms large.
17:09You know Deegan will go for it.
17:11And he's there now.
17:12Yeah.
17:14He can't do it early.
17:15He talked about this last week.
17:17And if you're going to make an attempt, you have to make it happen, especially right now.
17:22Here it is.
17:23Deegan is right there.
17:25Yeah, Jorge is in a tough position because his lines around the racetrack go fast for him,
17:31leaving the outsides open and insides open.
17:34And so Hayden getting close like this is going to change Jorge's line.
17:37He's going to start protecting the inside, which is going to allow Hayden to easily catch him.
17:41Then Hayden will start to be able to go on the offense.
17:43So good section by Jorge to pull out.
17:46He needs that gap, Ricky, by the second, second and a half to keep that 38 from running inside.
17:51And what you're going to see here, even if Hayden is faster, when he gets up to Jorge's rear wheel,
17:57it actually makes it a little bit harder.
18:00So that's going to be a really big challenge for Hayden to actually execute a pass.
18:06And when he gets closer because you're just getting knelted by a ruse, it's a little more difficult.
18:14Time running out.
18:15Three minutes and a lap left.
18:17I'm telling you, man, like, I thought maybe it was kind of a conspiracy of what I asked you that
18:24question.
18:24Do you think he's holding back and maybe going to do something so Prado doesn't have time to make a
18:32comeback?
18:34This would be prime position to make a move like that if you're Hayden even.
18:39Yeah, and speaking on that point, if that is, he has to do it because Hunter is not seconds behind.
18:44So, and if you don't do it right.
18:46Oh, you got to get it to the point where Hunter can get him.
18:49He's going to have to tee him up.
18:50Got it.
18:51Simply passing him will not be enough to knock Prado off the overall podium.
18:55It will not cost him the title.
18:57But you got to get there first.
19:00This opportunity might be here.
19:01You got to see some lap riders in front of him.
19:04Man, this track is going away.
19:06You see those bikes dancing.
19:07Now, Jorge has to get around these guys before you get in that sand section, which he will not.
19:13Uh-oh.
19:13Bad position.

19:18Oh, he's held up big time.

19:21Yep.
19:22In moto one.
19:23Jorge's just going to be able to get through.
19:25Oh, and then he's going to get in front of Hayden as well.
19:31Deegan's getting close.
19:35And you know the crowd's going to respond here.

19:53Digging up the inside.
19:55Prado spurs it back.
19:56Oh, he missed it.

19:59That was close.
20:01He missed Joe last year, too, if you go back to it, that first attempt.
20:06It's on now one minute and one lap left.
20:08I told him he missed it.
20:10Oh, that was a good line up the inside right there.
20:12Really good line.
20:13Yeah, because he's going to try to get on the inside of him right here.
20:16Two more laps to go.
20:21See, now Prado knows.
20:23Hayden showed his hand.
20:25If I'm Prado, I'm letting him go.
20:28Yeah, I would try to hang on for this lap.
20:30But the hard part is, like I was saying earlier, some of these lines,
20:33Jorge has to leave that inside open.
20:35Yeah.
20:35And you just saw Hayden take that shot.
20:39Try to put it in a hot lap.
20:41See if I can continue this little gap.
20:43Get through the sand section.
20:46And the sand keeps bailing Prado out.
20:49That's a lot of laps in Europe, in the deepest sand tracks in the world.
20:53That experience paying off.
20:55But this is the area where Deegan is able to close.
20:58I can't believe he missed him right there.
21:00That was an absolutely golden opportunity, I felt like.
21:04And he might not get another one here.
21:06Look at Jorge absolutely crushing it coming out of that corner, James.
21:10He is.
21:11That is clutch.
21:16It's going to be a white flag.
21:17Yeah.
21:18Watch Hayden work this inside here, super inside, before the finish line to try to get squared up.
21:26He doesn't do it.
21:27He slapped that against it.
21:29Prado is one lap away.
21:30One lap away from the world title.
21:33And an incredible turnaround in his career in one year.
21:36He did not even participate in these races last year.
21:40He was only concerned with getting out of his Kawasaki contract.
21:45He almost went down.
21:48And he left a lot of money, a lot, several million dollars on the table.
21:53He can win a lot back right now if he can hang on.
22:03And we're seeing mistakes out of both.
22:04He ain't close enough.
22:06I mean, he's got to be right on his rear wheel.
22:08And Prado is too quality of a rider and a champion.
22:14Yeah, he avoided the first one.
22:16He spurred it just right.
22:17Here it comes.
22:18He's got to get through this corner.
22:20He's got one.
22:21Probably take a look back to NBC Hayden, not to scrub it.

22:32And Deegan still has a few play plates to make up.

22:44Jorge Prado is the SMX World Champion.
23:17He bet on himself.
23:18He left the money on the table, got out of his Cali deal, which paid a lot.
23:22Didn't care how much money he was getting from KTM.
23:24He wanted back on the bike kicker up on.
23:29And he knew if he had what he wanted, he could do the rest.
23:32And he just did.
23:56And the celebration is on.
23:58A spectacular 2026 campaign from Anaheim in January, through Iron Man in August, through the playoff rounds.
