05:04it narrows up we talked about it at the top of the show that first corner at the beginning of

05:14kitchen now 15 minutes on a rapidly changing racetrack to finally bring home a title he has
05:22had this red plate of the points leader time after time year after year including multiple weeks this
05:29year in pro motocross has not been able to bring it home five times he led a series in 2024

05:37in 25 multiple times he had let it and each time it slipped away
05:46will jason it's incredible to think and i was just standing with jimmy button agent for levi
05:51kitchen and sort of acts as somewhat of a kind of off track sort of mentor for him just leaning

05:56all his own racing experience and i said what's different about levi today and he said he is so
06:04relaxed before this moto he said i think after just not being himself last week he what he called it
06:11he said he's a little bit of a mess last week he said he's embracing the privilege of being here
06:16he said he's different and he said i want this for him so badly because there's so much has gone

06:22there's been so much heartbreak he said i just want him to feel what it's like to get rewarded
06:27for everything that he has put in this is going to resonate this win for levi if this happens here
06:34it's going to resonate through his team and family very deeply well will it was so bad last week
06:40the agent there jimmy button saying he was a mess levi admitted he threw up before the first moto
06:45last week and then he did not ride well finished seventh and then somehow came back in the second
06:51moto to win and then we switch the story to the team this is the title drought for that very
06:56mighty
06:56pro circuit organization tons of titles in the 90s to 2000s and the 2010s they have not won a title
07:04in this decade and we've told that story far too many times not that they haven't been in contention
07:10not they haven't won races they just haven't been able to seal the deal
07:15we asked yesterday levi what would it mean to win the title for this team
07:21uh yeah it would be super super big just a little bit of confidence and a great way to end

07:25um you know i've had a pretty good season this far so uh yeah to try to you know go
07:31out there and
07:31win this thing tomorrow would be huge not a lot of number one plates on the door but the latest

07:36adam c and cirillo back in 2019 2017 supercross with justin hill that's a long run for a very proud
07:43organization yeah you talk about proud organization i mean he was with the most coveted race teams
07:49around in the 250 division and there's a team you wanted to be on it was the monster mg kawasaki

07:56circuit race team i mean there was no doubt about that but kudos to the number 47 and levi kitchen
08:03and
08:03so many times again we've talked about being in that position to win a championship and for whatever
08:08reason coming up short and have that resilience mentally to keep coming back and to keep fighting
08:16uh big time props to this race team and as well levi oh yeah remember the last vision we had
08:23of
08:23him in iron man just riding off with the visor down bike bent didn't even race moto two i was
08:28on the
08:28couch watching and it just i mean you could just see it like one thing after another yeah no i
08:34like what
08:34i see because he came out and executed two great starts you know and he made them happen so i
08:39think for
08:40him kind of changes maybe the narrative moving forward that hey he can't get this done now we
08:46still have 12 and a half minutes left to get it done but i'm impressed to watch him continue to
08:51grow
08:51and the thing that was difficult about for the motocross it's not like he just crumbled yeah they
08:56had the last race he had a bunch of crashes when things spiral they went but he showed up and
09:00he was
09:01out there probably some of his best rods the last few races but then a first corner crash and just
09:05incidents he's out front he goes down when that luck changes like maybe today seeing that happen
09:11for other guys i'm sure that gives levi some belief and confidence maybe this is it to the start of
09:16many but he also you know he made his own luck like you talked about and getting that start at
09:22the
09:22opportune time which maybe didn't happen you know and his other scenarios so he made it happen when he
09:30needed to at the most important time and no one has an answer for this guy the dominant force
09:35in 250 racing this year a 250 supercross title a 250 motocross title bike moves way up to third
09:42actually overall in these final smx standings kind of think about what could have been i mean that was
09:48a massive plot twist last week cole looks good and truthfully watching him ride on this track it was
09:56same thing we saw um during the mud race at columbus that man this kid can really ride the mud
10:01and
10:02watching him here it looks like he's on a completely different track than everyone else everybody else
10:06is getting timid you can tell their body language cole's arms are open he's whipping it he looks more
10:12comfortable on this type of racetrack than any other one jt yeah i 100 agree like the level of
10:18precision that he has when traction is at a premium right now really stands out and these guys are all
10:24fantastic but when we go through the field we watch other guys you watch him he looks like he's doing
10:29something completely different like he looks like he is in a different race on a different racetrack
10:33than those other guys speaks pretty highly about what he's going to be able to do not only in 2027
10:38but
10:38at the next level as well thanks jt halfway through this final 250 moto reminder to stock up on monster
10:45energy drinks at price cutter as davies hammers down looking for his first playoff win this year
10:51you notice james the base of this track is really hard and slick if you watch these riders come
10:58out of the corners certain corners like this one coming up that cole's about to hit right here this
11:02inside it's like riding on ice he's going to go to the outside because there is more grit but on
11:08the
11:08inside it is super slick keep your eyes uh on those certain sections because it'd be on your lid before
11:15you
11:15do what happened yeah and the way cole's running this as we're watching this battle for third our
11:21second kind of close up it's kind of been about the same but yeah what cole's doing really well
11:26it's like he's taking his time he's all those slippery spots he's just on the part inside of that or
11:31on
11:31the outside getting that traction nonetheless it's still got a little over halfway as we're watching
11:36landon gordon brought great all day today looking good yes not rare now to see gordon around these
11:43podium spots running third got that podium at buds creek fourth at ironman and the pro motocross
11:47campaign and it was running third for a lot of the second moto last week finally came undone for
11:53him at the end lost a few spots now he has to deal with one of the veterans of the
11:57class cameron mcadoo
11:59in what i believe will be the last run for him with the monster pro circuit kawasaki team
12:05had a great couple of years won a lot of races and a ton of podiums but he's moving on
12:10but mcadoo will always give you everything he has and he's fighting right now from fourth
12:16grasher comes through next luxe turner sixth bennigan brown d francisco is digging he's made it up to
12:22ninth now would have to hope for a miracle a mistake from kitchen but it will help him preserve
12:30seconded points still pays a pretty good chunk yeah it does i mean i think rotter d when we saw
12:37these last couple races has been he's the elevation of him as a rotter so if he comes up short
12:42he got
12:43a lot to look forward to an off season because i think he showed himself some things having to
12:48execute like he did last weekend after having a bad start and even today he's riding great and he'll
12:53make no doubt about it if he has a successful off season in training he will be a premier contender
12:59in this 250 class no doubt will yeah and i was talking quickly to uh nate ramsey team manager over
13:07there at rockstar husqvarna talking about the path that you just spoke about that rider d francisco is
13:12on and nate's just so proud of his progress this year and you can tell he how he understands what
13:19that
13:20potential is for the 2027 season that you're talking about he said he's so calculated he's so
13:26smart and his words to him before he went out for even the first moto today was this championship if
13:32you if you were to get it today is only the cherry on top of a cake that you already
13:36have because of
13:38what he's achieved how far he's seen him come so yes wood rider would love to have gotten a win
13:43here
13:43and got the title with or without that elusive race win of course but what he has achieved and
13:50how far he's come to then just kind of they look at next season and go he's going to be
13:55a different
13:56guy and that's going to feel different to him because the expectation that you guys talk about is
14:01now there yeah thanks will and certainly some confidence he could take there he is oh that's
14:08actually his teammate bennick a couple positions ahead this is turner and then the next should be
14:14de francisco now he's going a little quicker than turner he's closing the gap
14:17got joe shimota behind him and there you see beaumair and at this point this beaumair
14:23de francisco battle
14:26they're there to pick up the pieces if kitchen were to falter
14:32rider b is doing a great job i mean at this point starting to get to these guys they're all
14:35right basically running the same lap time so to be able to pick up that much speed to gain is
14:41going
14:41to be difficult on this racetrack that's getting even harder to rod so doing a great job i think too
14:46i think too james if you look at it i mean obviously he wants to win this championship but at
14:52the same
14:52time you got to look at big picture and what's in the horizon this was a massive step forward like
14:58what
14:58will was talking about and you have a lot to hang your hat on after this season i mean he

15:04to build and build and build again like will was saying and man i know you want to uh again
15:10i know
15:10you want to win but sometimes you just got to look at the positives in a situation like this and
15:15he's done
15:16an incredible job
15:18been a rough playoff campaign for last year's world champ joe shimota was coming back from a broken
15:23collarbone and then just a disaster mud race to open the playoffs in ohio similar story
15:29bomaire had a rough one in the mud bounce back with that win last week not able to replicate it

15:35he's kind of turned it up here the last couple lapses joe was the fastest guy or third fastest
15:40guy on the track for the last lap that bomaire was extremely close to that same lap time
15:51bomaire is drifted back to fourth in points he needs a few more positions to try to get third
15:57in the points and some big money away from davies right now it would be kitchen
16:01de francisco davies top three in the series we mentioned in moto one bomaire today the decision
16:07was made that he is racing for team usa in the motocross of nations hey look at joe shimota's back
16:14the challenge de francisco yeah joe he's not back to challenge he's back to pass as he makes that
16:20you know but this is what joe does just gets better and better he'll same thing he'll give
16:25you everything he's got he's had a rough year yeah gnarly neck injury coming into the season and i
16:32thought that he did well all things considered he had the injury in pro motocross championships so
16:38not saying that this was to be expected but at the same time i think he's doing a great job
16:44coming back and this is the joe that we know and know his capabilities of will
16:50every year i was talking to you've been written this trio joe shimota's mechanic over that honda hrc
16:56earlier on about that year that you talked about it's just been rough and that those compounding kind
17:01of injuries he said that's probably why we're seeing joe maybe take a little bit longer coming back to
17:06we saw him with very little crack time five six days on the bike coming to supercross and do
17:13really well we saw him with seven eight days before pro motocross coming and do really well
17:17he was very strong early in those championships despite that he said when that keeps happening
17:22and you never get back to return to your full form he's like that makes that a tougher reset and
17:28that's what he's identifying joe now is it's just going to take a bit longer he's just proud of him
17:33honestly that he's kind of come through this and a lot of riders wouldn't be able to and joe is
17:37he's fighting through it yeah i i agree with that and coming back from that neck injury like we said
17:42we're really surprised how good he looked but it's not about speed with joe and he'll eventually get
17:47there but now after those injuries as will just said that mental battle that's the biggest hurdle that
17:52she has to fight so good to see joe getting back as we're watching this battle right here julian's
17:56going to go up the inside and makes the move on defrancisco so it has come unglued a bit
18:02for rider d who's lost two spots on the last two laps and look at the points as they run
18:09defrancisco is in danger of losing second in the series to davies
18:16and boomer is stepping up he's going out for shimoda i wonder if vision maybe he's becoming a
18:23problem riding in the rain it's been a constant rain this entire moto yeah that or for rider d
18:31you know maybe realization of the dream and what the goal was it definitely looks like the attitude of
18:38his his riding style has changed a little bit i thought from what i could see there
18:43let's turn around the 43 it's under fire here rc shimoda and boomer are on a roll and they got
18:49to go
18:51yeah you got to start wondering does rider d understands that maybe he can lose those positions
18:55and it really wouldn't matter as long as he doesn't go anymore maybe there's something else and he might
19:01get notified when he passes his mechanic coming up over here where he just lost the position from julian
19:07boomer the first lap the other lap like the core sorry and shimoda makes the move on turner
19:12that's the brother of the wmx winner lala turner stopped there a few moments ago everywhere joe goes
19:18boomer goes as well boomer challenged the turner take a quick look over julian's gonna be on the
19:26outside different rhythm right here you see that front end wash right there good job at saving that
19:31that's what i was saying earlier about how the base of it of this track is really slick
19:36you just set you saw julian's front end wash it out look at how slick it is there wow yeah

19:42notice how julian got back on that bike he came out he saw that slippery stuff had to lean back
19:49i want to mention gordon in third of the moto is actually set up for third overall
19:54and fifth in the points of smx incredible job by the rookie yeah great to see that
20:02really rallied late in the year did gordon and a podium that's gonna pay a lot of money fifth of
20:09points will pay a lot of money but the big one we're down to the final minutes levi kitchen looking
20:14at a 500 000 title bonus gonna make around 700 000 dollars total in these three playoff rounds
20:23but maybe more than that what it says about him delivering under pressure
20:30there is no doubt today two starts when he needed the most
20:35i need to find this guy see where they're going afterwards yeah well first stop will be just at
20:41the truck you know they like to have a good time over there in the first place right i'm i'm
20:45happy if
20:46he's able to hold this uh together for two more laps i mean i'm happy not only for levi but

20:52as well i mean saw the stats earlier when we throwed it up on the on the screen jt it's
20:58uh it's been a
21:00drought again for what was coveted as the best in the premier team in this division and and that's
21:06the thing right they've been so close and this is a team that was built around winning ricky you were
21:12a part of so many championships over there and it was expected for them to win championships and they
21:17go into this drought they haven't won a title since 2019 and they've been so close so many times
21:23and levi kitchen was the rider that was so close in a lot of those situations to get over the
21:29hump here
21:29would mean so much for so many over there yeah i mean you're exactly right jt it was it was
21:35win or
21:35die over there just just straight up if you didn't win you were underperforming and it was never if you
21:43didn't win it was never going to be because your equipment wasn't good enough to win on and mitch payton
21:49would do and the whole crew over there jim bones bacon the suspension guy for so long they would do
21:57anything to get you comfortable it's great to see them come back and be in this position
22:02there's no doubt they got the bikes back in order james we talked a lot in bringing a pro motocross

22:07wasn't just kitchen it was romano seth hamaker they got the bikes in order but that last title piece
22:12has been tough to get yeah and that's a great part of me going through this downfall like
22:17hey they all had to elevate mitch payton and they did it and you can see these bikes get better

22:22not only you see levi he's always going to be good you see the other riders kind of step up
22:26yes and so
22:27now they got the machines everything's set up so it puts more pressure on a guy like levi because you
22:32know you have everything let's see if he can hang on for another lap to execute this thing and i

22:36about the resurgence of the monster energy pro circuit kawasaki team and mitch payton when joe shimoto
22:42was riding for him a couple years ago yeah all of a sudden he started getting good starts in the
22:47pro
22:47motocross championship and listen this is a horsepower class and the more horsepower you do
22:53the more horsepower you have the better you are going to do and when these bikes are up front on
22:59the start that just means they got something special under the hood but the new dominant team in this
23:06class has been this squad the yamaha team davies is going to get his first career playoff overall win
23:11he will jump back into third in the seating at the end third and points but it slipped away bike
23:18problems in the mud while dominating in the first race that cost him and then a pair of crashes that's
23:25on him he didn't get this one done title wise but he reminded everybody how fast he is cole davies
23:31one wants it at the smx world championship closer but it's a long time coming and now finally it can
23:40be
23:40said levi kitchen is a champion he has won the smx world championship and breaks pro circuits long title
24:00and it was clutch 6.0 the start average all season long a whole shot and a second place start
24:09when he
24:09needed it there's his teammate mcadu
24:15it's their final ride together as teammates
24:24this guy battled injuries all year as well kept it quiet
