00:00Hello. The weekend weather remains changeable. It's likely that Saturday will be the drier day of the two and Sunday
00:07the slightly milder day of the two.
00:10But low pressure will never be too far away. This one's moving in through Friday, slow to clear on Saturday
00:15morning.
00:16Then there's a little ridge, a little bump in the isobars, another low and its weather front's then approaching.
00:21Then another little bump in the isobars before another low moves in.
00:25All being powered along by a fairly brisk jet stream coming out from North America.
00:31So, as I say, things looking fairly changeable.
00:34It's been quite mild through this week, but to start the weekend, colder air is moving in behind this first
00:40low pressure system.
00:41Staying quite mild where we'll keep a lot of cloud across the east, but across Scotland and Northern Ireland.
00:45Quite a chilly start to the weekend with a frost certainly likely across Scotland.
00:50Temperatures well below freezing where we've got snow on the hills.
00:53So, a cold but generally bright start here overcast across eastern England with some outbreaks of drizzly rain early on.
01:01A bit of a question mark about how quickly that clears away.
01:04Could take until the afternoon before it clears completely from the east.
01:08But for many, Saturday's going to be dry and bright.
01:10A few showers likely over parts of Northern England, maybe southern and central Scotland.
01:15But generally, I say a lot of dry weather.
01:18Some sunny spells until the next weather system starts to edge in, bringing increasing breeze and some outbreaks of rain
01:24to Northern Ireland.
01:26Perhaps parts of Wales and southwest England through the afternoon.
01:29But as I said, a lot of dry weather around on Saturday.
01:32On the cool side, certainly compared to what we've seen for much of this week.
01:36Temperatures around or even a touch below average on Saturday.
01:40But there should at least be some bright or sunny spells to compensate.
01:44If you're heading out on Saturday evening, well, be prepared for some rain in the west.
01:49This kind of fragmented band of rain will work its way from Northern Ireland into western Scotland, western parts of
01:55England and Wales.
01:57Patchy rain, but nevertheless, I say it will be quite damp in these western areas.
02:01Northern Ireland should turn a bit drier for a time.
02:03And much of the east will stay dry on Saturday night as well.
02:06But behind me, the next weather system is starting to loom.
02:10So that one will then push in during Saturday nights.
02:14And again, the isobar is squidging together.
02:15So we could see some fairly brisk winds.
02:18But tucked in here, this is a warm sector.
02:20So there's some milder air moving in for Sunday as well.
02:23Overall, likely to be a pretty grey start.
02:26May start dry across northeast Scotland.
02:28But many places starting with thick cloud and some outbreaks of rain and a brisk wind too.
02:34Now, the rain may ease off in many areas.
02:36It might brighten up a little, but overall likely to stay quite cloudy.
02:40And then another pulse of rain set to come in through the day across parts of Northern Ireland and northwest
02:46Scotland.
02:46Again, a bit of a question mark about the timing and how quickly this rain comes in.
02:50But it could be quite heavy, especially so on Sunday night.
02:54As I said, though, milder air is coming in.
02:56So temperatures are higher on Sunday compared to Saturday.
03:00Two, three, even four degrees higher in some locations.
03:03Generally, a bit above average getting into the teens, perhaps in one or two places.
03:07So as I said, the changeable theme continues as we go through the weekend.
03:11If you've got weekend plans that are really weather dependent, you want to keep up with the forecast.
03:15As I said, there is a bit of uncertainty about the timing of the rain coming in.
