01:01Yeah, he was born in Britain and then obviously moved over there, so that makes him a Briwe.
01:04A bit like me, we married him.
01:07But Romain Fevre, he leads the way in red.
01:10Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP, he knows the championship has done undusted.
01:14These two final rounds, he just wants to sort of hold himself even more accountable
01:17than he has done all season long.
01:19If he can take just one session, one win from Jeffrey Hurling's anywhere.
01:23He's not going to do it like that.
01:24Herlings snipsa no inside after putting the Frenchman under pressure
01:27and it's Herlings who leads before the end of the lap
01:31an easy pass similar to what he had in the race on Sunday in Sweden
01:36down one of those switchback bottom of the hills
01:38where he went for the inside rut, Jeffrey Herlings as Fevre went to the middle rut
01:41and it was quite an easy pass then as well
01:44but it's Herlings who leads, Roma Fevre now will just be keen
01:46to try and apply the pressure a little bit
01:48interestingly as we look at the replay coming at many moments now
01:52just the other side of the Monster Energy Triple
01:53just watch here Herlings already commits the inside
01:56untidy on the exit there for Fevre
01:58cross ruts on the exit and that was it
02:00that was as easy as it was going to get
02:01but he said in his time practice post-race session interview with Jeffrey Herlings
02:06he tweaked a knee in free practice earlier
02:07and it was sore so he's obviously
02:10I don't know he's not maybe riding 100% here
02:12but you wouldn't know it from the moment
02:13no he's certainly just taken advantage of what was a horrible corner for Fevre
02:17I think he just overshot and the Dragons back there
02:19trying to leap out of Herlings this range
02:21but he completely landed himself in the marbles on the outside of the track
02:24so Fevre will be cursing in French underneath that J1 helmet
02:28and yeah he is searching now to try and get back on terms with the bullet
02:33interesting to see the centre times and how the lap times break down
02:36there's Vial going through in 3rd Jan Panzer Temp-JP253 KTM racing he's in 4th place
02:41Adamo 5th, Iago Keertz in 6th
02:43there is Adamo just going through now on the Rebel KTM
02:45there's Keertz on the MRT Racing Beta
02:47good time for him in 6th in the time practice session earlier on today
02:52and for Iago Keertz who had a couple of tenths in the last four rounds
02:56sort of bookended round 14 in Lommel and Turkey a week ago
03:01so for him on the beta to come away with a 6th place time
03:04that was impressive for the Belgian
03:07Adamo here, time practice hasn't been his forte
03:10hasn't been his strong point but here he is in 5th in the qualifying race
03:14and he'll be hoping to sort of try and break into the top three if he can
03:18if he does that, I mean for the 6th time this year
03:20he was 5th last time out in Turkey
03:23he's got Panzer just ahead of him
03:25and then Vial a little bit further up the track
03:29it looks like he has just lost out
03:31he's back in with Sibur and Landren
03:34Landren it is, it's gone past Iago now
03:36it is good to see MRT Racing Team Beta here
03:38taking on the final flyaways
03:40they did not do that last year
03:41so for sure they are feeling like they can get some results with Iago
03:44One thing that you may have noticed as well in terms of timetables and schedules
03:48we're probably about sort of 45 minutes or so
03:51ahead of where we would normally be with the MXGP Quali Race and MX2 Quali Races
03:55because here just with the way that the sun sets
03:58you can probably already see as we head this way
04:00the sun is starting to drop very very low
04:03and it will be similar for the races tomorrow as well
04:06I would imagine by the time we sort of come to an end around about 5 o'clock
04:10but this one is slightly earlier than it would be on a Sunday
04:14and already you can see the shadows just starting to elongate ever so slightly
04:18visibility into some of these corners and takeoffs on jumps
04:21starting to be problematic or certainly will be in the next 60 minutes plus 2 laps
04:25yeah there is virtually there's no tee time here it's almost like the lights get switched off
04:29and all of a sudden he is completely pitch black
04:31but here is uh Iago and uh it's great to see him in shot
04:34Vellandre has found his way by into sixth position on the Red Bull Ducati
04:39so uh decent performance opening few laps for uh Cam Vellandre
04:43it looked like he was going to get his best quality of the season as well with a third
04:45in time practice earlier on but as soon as he went third
04:48Jonas leapfrogged him and moved himself into third
04:51but it was still the best session of the season for Vellandre
04:55who had previously had uh what two eights earlier on in the season
05:00yeah Vellandre enjoying his weekend here seems to be in a great mood
05:03he did our gopro lab as well which you'll see tomorrow
05:05and uh yeah we're putting some fantastic whips
05:07inverse whips is it the way they uh turn it the other way over the jumps there
05:10and that's it the oppos yeah fantastic moves from Vellandre and he really does
05:14seem to be uh enjoying himself uh here and the uh as the lone Red Bull Ducati
05:18and just behind Iago here it's got Jeremy Siwa on the Venru KTM he's in eighth place Jonas
05:23emerging back into ninth and uh Walsh here and uh this was Jonas up the inside of Dylan Walsh
05:29moving past into ninth place at the end of the straight
05:33talking to the boards Jonas he had an absolutely monumental near miss over this very jump
05:38in free practice almost to the end of it yeah if he'd have been a few centimeters further back he
05:42would have been over the bars but as it was he just about cleared the jump uh nose down but
05:46uh
05:47it was a very scary moment for everybody who saw it and certainly for Pauls himself
05:50looking down on our leaderboard fastest man on track that time around lap two
05:54the fastest lap of the race Tom Vell 143.5 Hurling was at 144 exactly so half a second quicker
06:00than
06:00his teammate race leader Fevra was 43.9 so uh Vell showing his intent here he's about 3.7 off
06:08the
06:08lead of Hurlings 2.7 off of Fevra meanwhile this battle here between the line and and Keats rages
06:14on in that sixth place between the Red Bull Ducati and the MRT racing beta rider back for the lead
06:20though Hurlings and Fevra on screen
06:25doesn't have to top every single session doesn't have to win every single race but that's just his
06:29mentality that's his mindset he'll feel that it was a maybe not a good weekend if that fails to
06:34materialize so doing his best to stay ahead of Fevra at the moment the number 84 newly crowned
06:38six-time champ Jeffrey Hurlings for Honda HRC Patronus
06:42how how tweaked is that need say whether it was left or right so we'll find out by the way
06:49that
06:49maybe there's a bit of hesitancy put my teeth in uh in terms of coming into some of those corners
06:55and
06:55and stuff so yeah smells a bit of weakness here i feel he's looked he's looked fast all day
07:02Fevra come past this in time practice that uh Kawasaki has a distinct note to it as it goes past
07:08or
07:08his bark especially as you go past this uh jump and down the start straight you can hear it there
07:12coming through our microphones and yeah he is giving it nothing at the moment trying to chase
07:16down the bullet but uh yeah this is a tough task looks like Jeffrey's responding here just trying
07:21to up the pace you can see the urgency in the corners the aggression the body language has kind
07:26of changed ever so slightly from the 84 so maybe whatever issue he may have had like i say it
07:31might
07:31not even be a be a big issue but he mentioned it that he kind of tweaked it earlier on
07:36in the day
07:36and so from that instance you know it might just be sort of warming up a little bit you know
07:41what
07:41i mean and things like that but then the problem is you get out of the race and then things
07:45start
07:45to slow down seize up and stiffen up it's kind of tomorrow which could be the problem in that respect
07:51but just purely speculation in that respect of course but it is something that he did mention
07:55earlier on today after his time practice yeah for sure this is in the second section of the circuit
07:59was where Fevra was quicker massively on the previous lap and he's two tenths quicker again
08:03than hurlings the time around so yeah he's not giving the bullet an easy ride here we know how
08:08Jeffrey he said it himself in the post-race press conference last week he just hates to lose and
08:12that's why he gave everything to hold vial back in that second race in turkey despite having the
08:17championship in the bag and that's why he's going to push it as well to try and keep Fevra back
08:20here
08:21and vial quickest in sector one again slightly another sort of uh tenth or two over the the guys here
08:28but that gap 4.4 seconds between hurlings and vial in that third place vial of course
08:34in terms of uh qualifying races he won the first quali win of the season in argentina followed up with
08:39the second in spain been up and down a bit since then but he was second last time out in
08:45turkey so
08:47as we know he's coming into a good vein of form and he is challenging for potentially fourth in the
08:51championship between here and australia a week from now and pants there in fourth place not a major
08:57surprise china is where the slovenians scored his best ever grand prix results two years ago
09:02in 2024 fifth place on that day eight five for the races no qualifying race that weekend of course
09:07because we had a shortened schedule with the imminent typhoon but even so pantser like in this chinese
09:12circuit in fourth place holding back the factory ktm of andrea adam ever's looking good here actually the body
09:17language the aggression the urgency and i just wonder whether even for him you know whilst there
09:22was still a mathematical chance at some point over the last couple of rounds and he could be world
09:26champion obviously wanting to you know do all he can to make sure that happens every race that went by
09:34that jeffrey was ahead of him that opportunity was that opportunity was slipping away now he finds himself
09:39with no pressure from behind because there's no guys sir no pressure from the front because herlings
09:43already wrapped it up might see a different roman fevra over the next couple of rounds here kawasaki
09:47will certainly hope so roman fevra will be hoping so as well meanwhile his teammate jonas is going
09:54after see we're here this is the fight for eighth place there is the number 41 of paul's jonas in
10:00ninth zero ahead of him in red not too far up the track just around the corner iago kitts well
10:05in
10:05seventh position so we've got a three-way fight for seventh starting to emerge here you could have maybe
10:10even count for laundering in there in six but he's only about a second further up the track as well
10:14in fact he's just gone out of sight now there jonas will be steaming mad after that first corner he
10:20won the argy-bargy battle with tom bial out of the gate as the two kawasaki's both
10:24did the same on the respective hongas to the other side of them so jonas in a great position then
10:29drops in
10:29that first corner completely fired up and he's charging back now back to the rear of the zebra last time
10:35around hurlings did set the fastest lap and as they hit the line at the end of that five that
10:38falls the way of
10:39roman fevre so a little bit of fast lap tenting uh ping pong going on there between hurlings and
10:43fevre 43.6 43.3 between the top two respectively it's gone from just over a second to just under
10:50a
10:50second nine tenths between the bullet and the frenchman the l3.4 further back as he starts to
10:57lose contact and hurlings responds immediately 1.2 clear at the end of the first sector going into turn
11:03four over on the far side of the circuit delandren here on the number 10 red bull ducati comes into
11:10land jargo kit gets the distance over the liquid one jump there as he keeps the south african in his
11:15sights continuing to fight for that sixth place on the number 93 machine he got an eighth in czech republic
11:20round 13. he's only been 10th or better since then and that was the 10th the following week and lommel
11:27it's been 13th 19th and 13th since then last few rounds so this is a marked improvement from the
11:33former mx2 world championship hopeful
11:38it's looking good looking relaxed
11:43tell you what hurlings and fevre back and forth that gap back to 1.2 back down to 9.10
11:47and it's just
11:48properly sort of uh interested between those two but hurlings just holding all the inside lines at the
11:53moment you would feel keeping fevre at bay
12:01sadamo he's in fifth so he's got close company now with
12:05calvin villano breathing down his neck that's these two here in fifth and sixth
12:09red bull ktm red bull ducati
12:14they'll emerge out of them turn 13 down past pit lane and then into the final couple of corners 14
12:2015 and
12:2116 and then the route to the finish line jump
12:27it's impressive from the the beta
12:30of jago keerts they're holding on to the fellow italian manufacturer there ducati of course they
12:36do look at each other these italian brands they uh neither one of them want to uh let the other
12:40one
12:40be top dog but uh you've got to say adam though not able to stay on terms with panza who's
12:45running
12:45fantastically well fourth place 2.7 ahead of the factory rider and is a fantastic by to far for
12:51slovenia tom bial has got the gap between first and himself there in third down to less than four
12:56seconds only two and a half behind fevre now as he puts the lap time in 143-1 compared to
13:02the 43-705
13:04and 43-72 of hurlings and fevre respectively so is there going to be a late charge here from tom
13:09bial i wonder
13:11and as this battle continues here is that battle for the lead hurlings and fevre that's how close
13:16they are in the race just over a second we'll get another update a couple of corners from now
13:22over into that turn just on the opposite side of the track just on the run up towards that blue
13:26banner
13:26if you like but keep an eye on vial as well maybe just too far back to maybe doing anything
13:32about these
13:32two here borrowing any little mistakes from them of course but impressive this from fevre just staying
13:38on to the rear wheel of jeffrey hurlings making him work for it making him think outside of the box
13:42and applying that pressure letting him know that you know what i can win a race potentially give me
13:48the opportunity and he's put himself right in the box seat at a moment the rider in red on that
13:53kawasaki racing team mxgp machine because the gap between him and hurlings the guy's chasing down was
13:591.035 a moment ago we hit the line now at the end of lap seven and it's still hovering
14:05around about
14:05the same give or take a tenth maybe even a hundred and these two riders have their likenesses uh
14:12plastered all over the big banners and buildings that are around this circuit uh an amazing amount
14:17bunting going up and just just showing off the uh the stars of mxgp and they're proving that worth
14:22right now first and second but fevre i'm certain is absolutely determined almost desperate you would
14:27say to put one more win in the bank for kawasaki and perhaps one win at least for that number
14:31one plate as
14:32well he's not been able to do that apart from the qualifying race back in germany and i'm sure
14:36that he wants to win at least one more uh with that number one plate not the first visit to
14:40china
14:40for tom biel he was here in 2019 the old track where he was second overall in mx2 of course
14:45but
14:46so for him you know coming here kind of doesn't really make any difference because obviously whilst
14:52it's his first visit and the majority of the riders in the class lineup today it's their second visit
14:57having come here last year most of them but he's still holding himself accountable that gap still
15:03four seconds between first and second uh first and third which is where he is at the moment just see
15:07the haze now on that sun it's starting to drop not quickly but it won't be long after the the
15:13lights
15:13are out and the flags have sort of waved on the finish line we will be sort of edging into
15:18a little bit of
15:19dusk i'll tell you a little bit of dusk a bit of darkness just uh educate me there paul the
15:262019
15:26circuit the same as the 24 one no no completely it was two or three k down the road um
15:30similar in that
15:32it was uh not with a lot of elevation pretty flat dirt was the same but we had a long
15:37start straight
15:38into a 180 right and then into a 180 left and so they still ran in an anti-clockwise direction
15:44eventually but slightly different layout and that was the one where um geiss had that problem going
15:52into turn two and that cost him uh the race he had the back brake problem yeah did it cost
15:56him
15:56eventually the world championship we don't know because obviously even if he and prado would have
16:02lined up prado went on to win those races of course between then and the end of the season in
16:06that 24 season
16:07tom uh i think we've got to a point where they probably would have finished in a tie brake situation
16:11and
16:11it would have gone down to race wins which i think walker had more anyway so it was just another
16:17one of those things which was unfortunate where he ended finishing sort of uh i don't know picking up
16:22seven points for 14th place which didn't help his cause put it that way arrived here as the championship
16:27leader left here with work to do yeah absolutely and uh you saw there on screen bridge there that uh
16:31vial is closing in on the damo for that position in the championship that will be fourth as they try
16:36and
16:36both get past uh the absent lucas kunan now 12 points behind the italian is the frenchman with this
16:41third place here's jan pantser what a fantastic ride this is for the slovenian privateer yeah his
16:46best quality race was in montevaki wasn't it when it was a slovenian one two with tim geyser on the
16:51243 pants on the 253 just argued with those gay and banners there one of our cameramen's got shots of
16:58common vlander actually going through that overshooting the waves and going through the the guy and banners
17:02in a slow motion kind of style that's quite entertaining but uh yeah pants are just a little bit uh
17:07shy of
17:07that still not perfect in that corner no it's just indicative of the nature of the dirt here when it
17:12dries out it does go very dry like talcum powder and so you go into that berm the berm is
17:17in the shadow
17:17of the board the advertising board it looks like it's dark therefore has some moisture in it but it's the
17:22kind of shadow you go in all of a sudden there's nothing there and we've seen riders just fold the
17:27front just underneath the board in those little gaps as you can see just from those ktm banners there or
17:32the end of the monster straight there look if you've got a gap like that front end back end is
17:36going
17:36to go underneath there if you're not careful so panzer just falling short of something similar
17:42but he's hanging on to that fourth place at the moment great find this for the slovenian
17:47earnings has stepped up the pace there fastest lap of the race 143.111 to stretch the lead of a
17:52fair
17:52front to 2.7 now has he broken the frenchman with two minutes plus two laps to go
17:57typical typical of jeffrey hurlings in terms of what he does and what he does very well you can
18:03sit there last week in race two he will fight for every single blade of grass every speck of dirt
18:10to stay ahead and if he can find a chink to make a move or you know find a lap
18:16that just comes out of
18:17nowhere then of course he'll dig deep and go deeper than anybody to make that happen just to break the
18:21resolve of that person good response though from fevere got it back down to just about two seconds
18:27adamo he's going to be picking up six points here for his fifth place and volano going to be picking
18:31up five points for his sixth place unless he can reverse those positions and get ahead of the
18:37italian and move into that fifth place here is the italian on that red bull ktm number 80
18:43that's an impressive season in mxgp you can look at the the final standings and if he is
18:48more than the championship on paper no one will remember what happened
18:52to sort of uh other riders in and around him in the state of the championship i.e more notably
18:57lucas cooter because obviously it's him that he's going to leapfrog over you know this weekend and
19:01vial may even sort of leapfrog him as well but if he does finish fourth in the championship or even
19:06fifth it's going to it's been a good season in his debut season for adamo yeah for sure you won't
19:11want vial to run over of course that is the battle for top rookie let's not forget both of them
19:14that new to this class so uh yeah for sure adam would like that little uh note on his cv
19:19but uh
19:19it's good to see philandra get stuck in here a podium back at the old track in their 2019 and
19:24mx2
19:25class so yeah he's looking good here attacking adamo in the closing laps meanwhile head of the field
19:29hurlings is being caught once again by fevra hurlings last lap after setting the fastest lap and breaking
19:33the resolve it seemed he went 144 747 last time around to fevra's 43-1 he's got the gap down
19:40now
19:40after the first intermediate sector to less than a second so if hurlings thought he'd broken the
19:45spirit of the frenchman think again because the man in green is lining himself up to maybe have
19:53this last sort of three lap two and a half lap sprint now and have a run at that lead
19:58and potentially
19:58a second quality win since germany round seven which was his only quality race win of the campaign so
20:05far he's only race with saturday or sunday of 2026 as the defending the reigning champion yeah and of
20:12course uh his main sponsor his clothing sponsor anyway just one with a massive presence here the
20:15chinese manufacturer of course and they've got an amazing store on site there with more uh floor space
20:21than most motorcycle dealerships have permanently so uh they've got a real big presence and they would
20:25love to see their man atop the uh sessions here uh as they close at the end of this qualifying
20:29race
20:30there's an extra little special focus with him uh on home soil here you never know that might be a
20:36sweet treat actually you know what he's uh shot isn't he this weekend he's uh in the chocolate year
20:40actually oh so i've completely messed that one up never mind okay they were last year of course
20:46they were oh dear rookie mistake that's right anyway he is within touching distance as we move into the
20:52final two laps that's the gap between hurlings and fevra it was 1.2 it's 1.3 as they hit
20:58the line in the end of
20:59lap 11. hurling's just keeping his head down so now you see the shadows how long they are to his
21:06left
21:06as he comes out at first turn so every time you come this way towards our camera and down the
21:10back
21:10straight out of turn uh sort of eight or through the waves down towards turn seven that's where the
21:17sun is going to be at its lowest this late stage it's only going to get lower a little bit
21:21later on
21:22and the race is on sunday though late on in the afternoon
21:28races uh earlier this uh this weekend only 12 o'clock one o'clock three o'clock and four so
21:32yeah similar time finishing wouldn't they be yeah another ten minutes yeah
21:37that's what i mean out of this uh so the corner that he's gone into that's where the sun
21:41is starting to fall and he'll get out of um these next couple of corners here down the back straight
21:47sun
21:48into the eyes again down towards turn 11. and then we flip flop through here
21:59that is turn 11 right there see how dry up a little bit now see the nature of the ground
22:05a little bit
22:06rocky in there sometimes you get those stones just poking out one of those little edges
22:13it's all right just had my uh gaze distracted there ever so slightly go through the paddock
22:20haven't seen one of them since what 91 or two something like that they are like rocking horse
22:26yeah for sure yeah there's some fantastic machinery around this place classic chinese technology pretty
22:36much everywhere all around here wonderful stands and wonderful stuff that you can see and buy but at
22:41the moment the one not shopping is earnings shopping for another qualifying race win into the final lap
22:461.9 all of a sudden he's having to work at the moment you know he's won that championship with
22:52two
22:52rounds to go he's done it in dominating fashion since the monster energy mxgp of great britain at foxhill
22:58motor park but then there's the odd race here and there while some of them have been dominant
23:03kind of made him work in arnhem in both races on a sunday tom vial made him work last weekend
23:09roman
23:09fevers made him work this weekend prior to that it was lucas kunin putting him under the cosh for you
23:14know
23:15on route to his own 13 race wins before he went out of the season which we didn't know at
23:20the time before
23:20before he went out of the british grand prix with that niggle that's then plagued him since then and
23:25forced him out eventually and uh lucas has been confirmed as out of these last two grand prix's he
23:31is desperately trying to be fit for the monster energy motocross nation so fingers crossed he can
23:36join his brother and liam members on what would be a very strong belgian team yeah and part of the
23:39problem there is when we had in uh turkey for our behind the gate behind the scenes interviews we had
23:46activated carly and he said the problem is that even though he was going to physio and
23:51feeling okay getting ready to sort of come to the next race he wasn't riding he wasn't training so
23:55every time he would line up again he was starting from scratch because he hadn't ridden hadn't
23:59done the training he was just going there feeling a little bit better and he said that was kind of
24:02part of the problem so at some point they just made a decision say look just get it fixed get
24:07whatever
24:07it is you know the sciatic issue the sciatic nerve and then just get on top of it and then
24:13hopefully get through a race a session and a weekend one rider who is getting through the session this
24:18one the qualifying race here the mxgp qualifying race out of the final turn is going to be honda hrc
24:23patronus rider jeffrey hurlings who eventually cruises to the win here on saturday
24:31and jeffrey hurlings will wait for his interviews but nine quality wins during the season six in a row
24:42for the bullet the other three coming in uh switzerland sardinia back to back rounds three and
24:48four and france round six at la capelle marival didn't win again until uh round 13 czech public
24:55locket so to win the last six in a row another sort of job well done on a saturday for
25:02the number 84
25:04yeah he'll be updating the notes on his phone which uh he showed one of our uh journalists there and
25:08the uh
25:09one of our social media guys anyway the uh the list of his phone he keeps keeps his own stats
25:13in notes
25:13on his phone it's uh it's quite an impressive list if you can get
25:16you
