00:00It's the cookie jar brought to you by Moran Chevrolet, where you always get the best price, period.
00:05The NFL is back. I want to know which NFL theme is your favorite.
00:09Fox, CBS, NBC, Amazon Prime.
00:14I would probably say Fox because as soon as I hear it, I know that it's football.
00:25Yeah.
00:26And it's the pregame show on Sundays. It's updates. It's all of those things. As soon as I hear that,
00:34I'm like, oh, football.
00:36Yeah, I picked Fox, too. I actually went through and listened to almost all of them.
00:42It was tough to decide, but this one to me was like, this is it. This is what I like.
00:46The Amazon Prime one?
00:48Yeah, not great.
00:49Awful.
00:49You want to play that for people, Greg?
00:51Not good.
00:59And maybe it's because it hasn't been around long enough, and it's not.
01:03No, it's awful.
01:04They need to do over.
01:05It's really bad.
01:06See, I'm going to say the Amazon Prime one because it's the one that's at least kind of fun.
01:13The other ones are too serious.
01:15It's the gridiron, Greg.
01:16The Fox one.
01:18It's a very serious game.
01:19Yeah, going back to John Facenda and NFL Films music, that's what football is built on.
01:25Yeah.
01:26Relax, guys.
01:27It's football.
01:28Football is fun.
01:30Tom, but very serious.
01:31I got to tell you, I kind of changed my tune as things go on.
01:34I used to be Monday Night Football guy.
01:36I was Fox for a long time.
01:37The Sunday Night one has grown on me.
01:39I think it's the best one right now.
01:45It does scream football.
01:48Too serious.
01:50Yes.
01:50It screams football.
01:51That's why I don't like it.
01:52Come on.
01:53Well, you made it fun when you sung this.
01:55Yeah.
01:55That's fine.
01:56Yeah.
01:56Sunday Night.
01:57There's not enough Legend of Zelda in there.
02:03We don't need to play it again, but I'm Team Fox.
02:05Okay.
02:07It's just as a Lions fan, that is synonymous with NFL Sundays.
02:15You guys should use the cookie jar theme for somebody.
02:17Maybe Netflix.
02:18There you go.
02:19One of these years.
02:20Today is the 25th anniversary of September 11th.
02:23Where were you on that day?
02:25I was in Virginia.
02:27I was only about, what, 20 miles from the Pentagon.
02:31And walking on a bike path.
02:33It was Tuesday.
02:33It was a day off.
02:35And where I was supposed to be is probably more interesting.
02:38My buddy, Corey Raymer, slept in.
02:41I was, he was supposed to pick me up and we were going to go fishing and we were going
02:47to be, there's a little marina right outside the Pentagon, great bass fishing on the Potomac.
02:51I was supposed to be right there.
02:53And you think about all the moments in your life where something happened and you weren't somewhere where something bad
02:58happened.
02:59I can't even imagine what it would have been like down there.
03:03But that's where I was supposed to be.
03:04Wow.
03:05I was in high school.
03:07I remember being in accounting, Mrs. McGarrian's class.
03:11And you kind of like, people are just starting to hear what's happening.
03:14And you have those little, we had little TVs like in the corner of the classroom.
03:17Yeah.
03:18Channel one.
03:19So we all, you know, the TV was on.
03:20A lot of kids, like I talked to Colin about it.
03:22I was like, do you remember?
03:24He went home.
03:25A lot of the students went home from school to see what was going on.
03:30I think I stayed in school.
03:33I don't remember leaving at that time, but yeah, I was in high school.
03:37I was in third grade.
03:39Hall Elementary School in Livonia.
03:41School's not even around anymore.
03:42And they brought all of us into the library.
03:45I remember I can still picture the library and they wheeled the TV in.
03:48And I don't remember how they explained it, but a plane hit one of the towers.
03:53We were sent home.
03:54Like we didn't finish out that day of school.
03:57Intro to psychopathology lecture, 8 to 10 a.m. at the University of Michigan.
04:01Uh, we were kind of bubbled in.
04:04So we didn't hear what was going on.
04:0610 a.m.
04:07Was physics lecture.
04:09And to start the lecture, the professor says something, something, something world trade center.
04:15And I'm just like, huh?
04:17What the hell is he talking about?
04:18Right.
04:19And then he got home and watched the TV.
04:20So I was at home.
04:21I was living with a roommate at the time at his house on the lake.
04:24My routine was I worked afternoon radio then was to get up.
04:27And what do afternoon shows do?
04:29They listen to morning shows.
04:30So I had on the morning show at the station I worked at.
04:33And they said a plane just hit the World Trade Center.
04:36Turn on the TV.
04:37Today show showing it live.
04:38And then I saw the second one hit.
04:40Wow.
04:41I got to tell you, the pit, like in my stomach, like the emotional of seeing that, it's like, this
04:49is intentional.
04:53A few more questions in the cookie jar.
04:55Michigan, Oklahoma is on Saturday.
04:57Who are the college football bluebloods?
05:00Because I don't think you'd fight me that these two teams belong.
05:03Right.
05:03I have Michigan, Oklahoma.
05:04I also have Texas, Alabama, Georgia, Notre Dame, and Ohio State.
05:08And I probably left out some teams that could, you could make an argument, USC, I'm sure you could make
05:16an argument for.
05:17I know your list is a lot longer than mine, so I won't waste your time.
05:20But those are the ones that I think are, through the course of time, there's been highs and lows for
05:24other programs.
05:25But they are the ones that are generally always right there.
05:30I wouldn't fight you on any of those.
05:32I had six that I thought were locks and then a few more that I think belong.
05:36Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame, USC, Alabama, and Oklahoma are the locks to me.
05:42I think you should also add LSU, Texas, Georgia, Miami, and Florida State.
05:49So your six locks, let's just recap them.
05:51Let's go.
05:52USC, Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Texas, Nebraska.
06:01Okay.
06:01Mine's in between you guys.
06:04I'm putting Texas in, no Nebraska.
06:06They've been so dormant for so long, they've lost it.
06:09Yeah, they were at one point, but yeah, not anymore.
06:12Eliminate one forever, onion or garlic?
06:14This was tough because I love both, but you guys know I love my onion pie.
06:18I love to be able to sit by the garden and be able to pick out an onion, eat it
06:22like an
06:22apple, give me my onion.
06:24I could take onion on almost anything.
06:26Now, there are some things I prefer to have without onion, and the problem is I love garlic,
06:31especially fresh garlic.
06:32You sit there and you chop it up, eat a little bit for there, a little bit for me.
06:36I love garlic, but I don't know that I would want to live a life without onions.
06:41Get rid of onions.
06:42I hate onions.
06:46I hate onions.
06:47Garlic?
06:47I love garlic.
06:48This was easy.
06:50Clearly not a vampire.
06:51I mean, I will tell restaurants that I'm allergic to them sometimes just to make sure that they
06:54do not go in my meal.
06:56Do they believe you?
06:57I tell them I'm allergic to vegetables and I don't want them to touch my food, but they
07:00don't believe me.
07:01I do think that they're more conscious of making sure they're not included because if
07:05I just say no onions, half the time, onions are still included.
07:08I like the crunch of an onion on a burger, on a sandwich, but the flavor of garlic is
07:13superior, so I would get rid of onion.
07:15You're doing it wrong.
07:16I would get rid of garlic because I use onions for a little bit more.
07:20Burgers is one, and also making a beef casserole, slice some onions in that as well.
07:25Yeah, onion is such a great flavor into so many different foods, and I love both these.
07:30I got to get rid of onion.
07:31Garlic is supreme to an Italian cookie.
07:35Like, homemade good sauces with garlic, fresh garlic in it.
07:40I think a lot of people miss the boat on Italian sauces and eat the ragu crap or don't know
07:46how to make it homemade.
07:47Sure.
07:47When it's made right, it's such a home run.
07:49Sauteed onion with butter.
07:51I love that too, man.
07:53Peppers and onions on thing.
07:55Philly cheese steak.
07:57I believe Italian food would be ruined without garlic.
08:01Sure.
08:02Yeah, I guess if you like Italian food.
08:04If you like the best food in the world, you would like garlic.
08:08Last question.
08:09What will be the biggest headline on Monday from around the NFL?
08:14That Buffalo and the LA Rams, there's something wrong with them.
08:19It's week one.
08:21The LA Rams, maybe they made a choice not to do it right going out to Australia.
08:26Maybe it was just a bad day.
08:28Buffalo, I think they're going to run into a buzzsaw with the Texans.
08:32These are two teams that some maybe even have them matching up in the Super Bowl, and I think
08:39there's going to be an overreaction, a pullback, especially on the Rams, and we'll see what
08:44they look like with Darnold.
08:46Trust me, I don't think you're going to have a whole lot of games this year where Miles
08:48Garrett doesn't have a tackle, let alone multiple sacks.
08:51Heather, is it Lions loose at Zoo?
08:54Sure.
08:56Greg?
08:59Headlines?
09:00NFL?
09:02Monday morning?
09:03What happens before Monday morning?
09:05Sunday night?
09:06This is...
09:08Should the Cowboys be Super Bowl favorites?
09:11I love it.
09:12Yeah.
09:12Because those are the overreactions.
09:13That's what week one's all about.
09:15I'm kind of going down John's path, although I'm going to leave the Rams out of it because
09:18Kyle Shanahan's 11-8 against Sean McVay, and that's a divisional game, so I'm going to
09:23pump the brakes on overreacting to the Rams, but it is the Buffalo Bills, and this will
09:26be your headline.
09:27Has Josh Allen missed his window to win a Super Bowl?
09:31Yeah.
09:32Is he now dad?
09:33Is he more concerned about his family than he is his team?
09:35New coach, going against a great defense.
09:38Texan Tom?
09:40See, that's what I think.
09:41I think you're going to get a full panel of Texan Toms talking about how this is the
09:44year for Houston.
09:45Yeah.
09:46Now, you're right.
09:47I suppose panic sells more, so it'll be more about Buffalo.
09:50Of course it does.
09:51The year, Greg, well, that wasn't panic, but that's because the Cowboys are.
09:54Well, we'll see how Baker does, too.
09:55I mean, might be some love about Baker Mayfield.
09:58Shoot out with him and Joe Burrow.
10:01I think that could be the funnest game of the weekend.
10:02Of course.
10:03Mayfield man crush.
10:04Sneaky game.
10:05I like Joe Burrow better, to be honest with you.
10:08Well, I mean, he does walk the runway better.
10:12It's a cookie jar brought to you by Moran Chevrolet.
10:1497-1.
