00:00text pouring in Jim really is an island boy. Uh huh. I don't know
00:08what that means. Well, it goes with the cabana outfit. Okay. I'm
00:11the only one that took the Saints and I'm the only one that took
00:13Michigan. On top of that, you cost a locked it. Yeah, people feel
00:20a certain type of way about that dork. Heather is on an island
00:23with Eastern and the Packers. Yeah, no good for us chance to
00:28make up some ground early. We'll see. We'll see. I'm with Jim on the
00:31Eastern entrance. The wall's not that big. Just walk around to
00:34dummies. Heather, do you know what we're talking about? No, I
00:38actually started Googling it. You should pull this up. So they
00:41bring out like a wall of cinder blocks and then they like
00:44sledgehammer it down. But the wall is like shorter than the
00:48offensive lineman coming out. Oh yeah, it's like four feet tall
00:51and maybe I don't know six or eight feet across. You're just
00:54waiting for a cinder block to like fall on someone's foot or
00:56something. Or like there are some guys that like jumped over
00:59it. I'm waiting for somebody to break an ankle. They do it for
01:02their home games at the factory. They're boring gray field. Just
01:06make it like those like cardboard bricks that like kids play with
01:10and smash the right. Yeah, but if they did that, then they'd be
01:11soft. Oh, but they're real cinder blocks. Yeah, but how stupid is
01:15that? Look, are you like at least I was picturing like at least
01:19they're not the foam blocks. Yeah, or like those fake building blocks the
01:23kids use that are like colored. Oh, yeah, like I got a whole set of
01:26those. Yeah, see if they did they're real except they did fake
01:29bricks, you'd make fun of them for like it's rinky dink. It's put the
01:33real cinder blocks. That's how tough they are. Yeah, look, give me a
01:37look like I'm supposed to have a response or care because I went
01:39there. I don't. Are we offending you? They do this at every home
01:44game. Yeah, pretty sure, but only like two players get to smash it
01:49an honor bestowed. Maybe they took those from the brick silo. Yeah,
01:55you would you would shoot that down if you went if you were playing
01:58there if you went there. Oh, yeah, we're doing some different guys. No,
02:00no, no, no, no, no, no. We are not doing this. Do you want to be a
02:03meme for all of of the sports world, not just college football? It'd be
02:07cooler if they use their bodies. You know, no, no, no, no. You're
02:14begging for bad stuff. Speaking of bad ideas, I don't know if I've
02:17ever told the story on the air. My senior year of high school, we
02:20opened with Walled Lake Northern and we showed up with a
02:24sledgehammer and for our entrance ran out and sledgehammered
02:27their logo to announce our presence with authority. Oh, you
02:31should have brought a steak. Could have put a steak in the ground.
02:35Oh, wait, no, the Brady hoax steak gate. John, ask me if we won
02:39the game in the turf. Did you win the game? We did not. Ah, did
02:45they did they then steal your sledgehammer and make that a
02:48trophy game? You're going to have to win it back my senior
02:51year. I have no idea if we played him again. Oh, you don't
02:55you don't care about your your high school? No, I do. And I
02:57don't think we played them the next year. Oh, more text. It
03:01says, wow, John picking against his school. Newfound respect. I've
03:07picked against Michigan before. Plenty. Oh, I mean, do we not have
03:13eyeballs? Apparently you don't. I mean, during the Davis Warren
03:17days, you weren't itching to pick them every week. Okay, I mean, I'll
03:23take the credit for, you know, picking against Michigan and going
03:27stepping outside the blue wall, but we had eyeballs. Yeah, but why
03:33don't I get credit for being a free thinker and not following the
03:36crowd? People charting my own path. I think people just think
03:40you're off your rocker. Okay. People think we're off our
03:44trying to become likable. I don't think that's going to help
03:47me. You all took the Lions giving six and a half points. I will
03:52take the Saints all day, every day. And here's why the Lions
03:56will win. But like last year, without playing their starters in
03:58the preseason, the offense will be sluggish. Timing will be off.
04:02They'll have to rally and win a close football game. We shall
04:06see. That's from an unnamed texter. All right. Speaking of the
04:09Lions, besides a win, what do you want to see on Sunday? And what
04:15is the X factor for the Lions this season if they're going to get
04:18it done? That's a very interesting question because you want to
04:23start to see some of it in week one. So what is that for you?
04:26Gosh, there's so much to pick from. I guess I'm going to go with my
04:33sweet spot and some of the things that I talked about yesterday in
04:37the Thursday touchdown. I want to see that this offensive line,
04:42even without Cade Mays, has found a way to gel. And if you were
04:46listening to Carson Anderson and you heard Jared Goff, they asked
04:51him about, hey, you know, Juice Scruggs being in there and this
04:55offensive line starting to gel. And he did admit like there was a reset
04:58of having a new guy in there calling the protections and setting the
05:04blocking schemes. He felt that they really settled into a nice rhythm,
05:09but it did have to reset. And now at left guard, we have the unknown.
05:16Is it going to be mahogany? Is it going to be barge? Are they going to be
05:19rotating through there? Penesul moving over to left? I don't think I think it's
05:23going to be a seamless transition, but there could be, you know, one or two
05:27bumps as there are in any football game. And Blake Miller, you know, the
05:32starting right tackle first draft pick and, you know, the second year of
05:39Taylor. So I'm going to be watching that. There's so many other to pick from
05:43though. So I think you're right to look to the offensive line because last year
05:46that was the red flag week one O lines overwhelmed and it set the tone for it
05:52was going to be a disaster where they fell into last place and stumbled factors
05:56being a little bit different. It's not Micah Parsons. It's not the Green Bay
05:59Packers. It's not on the road. And you do have some, I think, an upgrade in
06:05talent. I think the offensive line, especially until they get Cade Mays back is
06:09going to be a work in progress. I mean, the idea of rotating guards by definition
06:13means work in progress. Rookies first game work in progress. Your eyes will be
06:17fixated there. I think a lot of people's will. For me, the D line needs to get off
06:20to a good start. There aren't as many questions about moving pieces. You know
06:25who the guys are. You know who Hutch is. You know who these guys are up front. I'm
06:30watching Aleem McNeil because I think he is the key to getting this team back into
06:34that Super Bowl conversation. He in 2023 had a breakout and they were a half away
06:41from playing in the Super Bowl. They did not have a good pass defense and yet
06:45there they were on the edge of the Super Bowl. In 2024, Aleem McNeil blows out
06:49his ACL. They don't win a playoff game. Last year, he comes back. Not the same
06:53player. They don't even make the playoffs. If he is back to 2023, it gives them a
06:57real number two with Hutch pressure from the inside and the outside. Tyleek
07:01Williams is another player that can help round out this unit first round pick and
07:05the investment they made with DJ Wanham and Derek Moore at the other edge spot. I
07:09want to see the D-line get off to a hot start. The Saints don't have a plethora
07:13of weapons to throw the ball to. Stop ETN in the run game. You know Olave is going
07:18to be their number one target, but pop quiz who's number two. Make him go through
07:23his progressions and if he's doing that and you get to him, the play ends. So
07:27the D-line is where I'm going to center a lot of my focus. I'm curious, DJ Wanham, what
07:32does he look like? Is he going to be an upgrade from Al-Quddin Muhammad? Derek Moore,
07:37limited at practice. Is he even going to play? And so, yeah, I think there's going to be
07:42a lot of eyeballs on that one as well. And I probably would have just narrowed it down
07:46to edge opposite Hutch. I think a lot of people want to know, did we upgrade that and how does
07:53it benefit Hutch? It's 97-1.
