00:10O Lord, open our lips, and our mouths shall sing your praise.
00:17O God, make speed to save us. O Lord, make haste to help us.
00:26Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning,
00:32is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
00:39Let us praise the Lord. The Lord's name be praised.
00:49I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.
00:59I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages.
01:09God from God, light from light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the
01:19Father.
01:20Through him all things were made.
01:23For us men, and for our salvation, he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit, was incarnate of
01:31the Virgin Mary, and became man.
01:35For our sake, he was crucified under Pontius Pilate.
01:39He suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.
01:46He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
01:52He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.
01:59I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father,
02:06who with the Father and the Son, is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.
02:14I believe in one holy Catholic and apostolic Church.
02:18I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins,
02:22and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.
02:30Amen.
02:33The Lord be with you, and also with you.
02:39Let us pray.
02:42Lord, have mercy upon us.
02:45Christ, have mercy upon us.
02:48Lord, have mercy upon us.
02:53Our Father in heaven, holy is your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is
03:03in heaven.
03:05Give us today our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
03:16Do not allow us to fall into temptation, but deliver us from every evil.
03:23Amen.
03:27O Lord, have mercy upon us, and grant us your salvation.
03:35Bless your ministers with righteousness, and make your chosen people joyful.
03:44O Lord, save your people, and bless your inheritance.
03:51Give peace in our time, O Lord, because there is none other that fights for it, but only you, O
03:59God.
04:01O God, make clean our hearts within us.
04:06Do not take your Holy Spirit from us.
04:15The Book of Esther, Chapter 1
04:20The following events happened in the days of Asuherius.
04:25I am referring to that Asuherius who used to rule over 127 provinces,
04:31extending all the way from India to Ethiopia.
04:36In those days, as King Asuherius sat on his royal throne in Susa, the citadel,
04:42in the third year of his reign, he provided a banquet for all his officials and his servants.
04:48The army of Persia and Media was present, as well as the nobles and all the officials of the provinces.
04:58He displayed the riches of his royal glory and the splendour of his majestic greatness for a lengthy period of
05:05time.
05:06One hundred and eighty days, to be exact.
05:09When those days were completed, the king then provided a seven-day banquet for all the people who were present
05:16in Susa, the citadel.
05:17For those of the highest standing, to the most lowly, it was held in the court, located in the garden
05:26of the royal palace.
05:28The furnishings included linen and purple curtains hung by cords of the finest linen and purple wool,
05:35on silver rings, alabaster columns, gold and silver couches displayed on a floor,
05:42made of valuable stones of alabaster, mother-of-pearl and mineral stone.
05:49Drinks were served in golden containers, all of which differed from one another.
05:55The royal wine was available in abundance at the king's expense.
06:00There were no restrictions on drinking, for the king had instructed all of his supervisors that they should do as
06:08everyone so desired.
06:11Queen Vashti also gave a banquet for the women in King Asuarius's royal palace.
06:19On the seventh day, as King Asuarius was feeling the effects of the wine,
06:25he ordered Mechoman, Bizda, Avona, Bigda, Abagatha, Cesar and Cacus,
06:33the seven eunuchs who attended him, to bring Queen Vashti into the king's presence, wearing her royal high turban.
06:42He wanted to show the people and the officials her beauty, for she was very attractive.
06:49But Queen Vashti refused to come at the king's bidding, conveyed through the eunuchs.
06:56Then the king became extremely angry, and his rage consumed him.
07:03The king then inquired of the wise men, who were discerners of the time.
07:07For it was the royal custom to confer with all those who were proficient in laws and legalities.
07:14Those who were closest to him were Karshena, Shethar, Admatha, Tarshish, Meres, Marsena and Memukhan.
07:25These men were the seven officials of Persia and Medea, who also saw the king on a regular basis,
07:31and had the most prominent offices in the kingdom.
07:36The king asked,
07:38By law, what should be done to Queen Vashti,
07:40in the light of the fact that she has not obeyed the instructions of King Asuarius, conveyed through the eunuchs?
07:50Memukhan then replied to the king and the officials,
07:54The wrong against Queen Vashti is not against the king alone,
07:57but against all the officials and all the people,
08:00who are throughout all the provinces of King Asuarius.
08:05For that matter concerning the queen was spread to all the women,
08:09leading them to treat their husbands with contempt, saying,
08:13When King Asuarius gave orders to bring Queen Vashti into his presence,
08:18she would not come.
08:21This very day the noble ladies of Persia and Medea,
08:25who have heard the matter concerning the queen,
08:28will respond in the same way to all royal officials,
08:31and there will be more than enough contempt and anger.
08:36If the king is so inclined,
08:38let a royal edict go forth from him,
08:41and let it be written in the laws of Medea and Persia that cannot be repealed,
08:47that Vashti may not come into the presence of King Asuarius,
08:51and let the king convey her royalty to another,
08:54who is more deserving than she.
08:58Let the king's decision,
09:00which he will disseminate throughout his kingdom,
09:03vast though it is.
09:05Then all the women will give honour to their husband,
09:09from the most prominent to the lowly.
09:13This seemed appropriate to the king and the officials,
09:17and so the king acted on the advice of Mamakam.
09:21He sent letters throughout all the royal provinces,
09:25to each province according to its own script,
09:28and to each people according to its own language,
09:31that every man should rule his family,
09:34and should be speaking the language of his people.
09:37This is the word of the Lord.
09:40Thanks be to God.
09:47My word is a lantern unto my feet,
09:54and a light unto my heart.
09:59I have sworn an answer for the purpose,
10:05to keep thy righteous judgment.
10:09I am troubled of all of that.
10:16We can be, O Lord,
10:18on calling to thy blood.
10:23Let the freeway of the lift of thy mouth
10:27lead me alone,
10:31and treat me like thy blood.
10:35My soul is always in thy hand.
10:42Yes, do I not forget my love.
10:48The old God we have made us separate,
10:54but yet I swear and not from my own mind.
11:00My disciple is thy name,
11:05as my heritage for ever.
11:09And warm, they are the very joy of my heart.
11:16I have applied thy heart to fulfill my service,
11:25and I swear and not from my heart.
11:35I have applied thy heart to fulfill my service,
11:40and my heart.
11:43But my Lord, who I love,
11:47God, my defense and sin,
11:52and my justice in thy life.
11:56would know me a son.
11:58Amen,
11:59come upon me with you.
12:02Lege the love of God's grace of my God.
12:08Oh,
12:08can you please be according to a man that I have made.
12:15The sic geschickly acts of God in the Lord.
12:20and the sick and the sick and the sick and the sick.
12:20I saw yet and consist My God.
12:22Oh, come me up, and I shall be saved.
12:29Where I delight, shall we ever in my status?
12:36Thou hast fallen down, all them that may come from my status.
12:44O, they in their day must be saved.
12:49Thou wouldest away all the ungodly of me at thy cross.
12:58Therefore I love thy testament.
13:03Thy flesh and death of me love me.
13:10I will ever fail, O God, I shall be saved.
13:20I deal with the thing that is lawful and right.
13:27O, give me not no harm to find our presence.
13:33May thou thy servant to delight in that which is true.
13:40And I'll run to thee now, O Lord.
13:47My eyes are wasted away with no gift to my land.
13:54And for the Lord of our righteousness.
13:59To deal with my servant, I'll call it on to thy loving virtue.
14:09And keep me now, I'll try to.
14:13I am thy servant to grant the understanding.
14:21That I may know thy testimony.
14:25I am thy servant, O Lord.
14:27It is time for thee, Lord, to lead to thine heart.
14:33O, they love is loyal, I know.
14:38For thy love, thy commandment.
14:44Come of gold and precious stone.
14:50And for all is faithful, thy commandment.
14:55And for all is faithful, thy commandment.
15:07And for all is faithful, thy commandment.
15:13And for all is faithful, thy commandment.
15:30Who is faithful, thy commandment.
15:36And for all is faithful, thy commandment.
15:42O you love for me and give us your word unto me,
15:51as my youth is to do unto your hands of thy name.
15:59O thou my steps, if I want,
16:04as is watched from the wickedness,
16:07but the wicked of me.
16:10Oh, deliver me from the wrongful feelings of hell.
16:18Thy soul shall I give, thy commandment.
16:25Show the light of thy crowned hands upon thy servant.
16:32And teach me thy status.
16:35And thy eyes are shot with love.
16:43Give up and give up thy love.
16:52Right thou shalt thou, O Lord.
16:58And to be thy judgment.
17:01The testimonies that thou hast come to me,
17:09O exceeding righteous and true,
17:15Why still have even come to me?
17:21Because my enemies have forgotten thy word,
17:27Thy word is dry through the eye of the moon,
17:34And my eyes have a promise of the moon,
17:40I am small and of no reputation,
17:47Yet do I not forget the promise,
17:51Thy light and many are never lost,
17:58The pride and pride in the moon,
18:01And my Lord in the moon,
18:06The trouble and many acts have taken all the promise,
18:14Yet is my delight to bride the love of the sun,
18:20The righteous bless of thy death, devoid, is ever lost.
18:29Who can't be understanding and I can be.
18:40Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost,
18:53as it was in the beginning, is now and never shall.
19:04And will not bear you.
19:21The Acts of the Apostles, Chapters 7 and 8
19:27This Moses, who they would not have, saying,
19:31Who made you a ruler and a judge?
19:34Him God sent to be a ruler and a saviour by the hand of the angel whom he saw in
19:40the thorn tree.
19:41This man took them out, having done wonders and signs in Egypt and in the Red Sea
19:47and in the wasteland for forty years.
19:50This is the same Moses who said to the children of Israel,
19:55God will give you a prophet from among your brothers, like me.
20:00This is the man who was in the church in the wasteland with the angel,
20:04who was talking to him in Sinai and with our fathers.
20:08And to him were given the living word of God,
20:11so that he might give them to you.
20:15By whom my fathers would not be controlled.
20:18But they put him on one side,
20:20turning their back in their hearts to Egypt, saying to Aaron,
20:24Make us gods to go before us.
20:27As for this Moses who took us out of the land of Egypt,
20:30we have no idea what has become of him.
20:34And they made the image of a young ox in those days,
20:37and made an offering to it,
20:40and had joy in the work of their hands.
20:44But God was turned from them,
20:46and let them give worship to the stars of heaven.
20:49As it says in the book of the prophets,
20:52Did you make offerings to me of sheep and oxen
20:55for forty years in the wasteland, O house of Israel?
20:59You took up the tent of Moloch,
21:02and the star of the god Rephan,
21:04images which you made to give worship to them.
21:08And I will take you away further than Babylon.
21:12Our fathers had the tent of witness in the wasteland,
21:16as God gave orders to Moses
21:18to make it after the design he had seen.
21:22Which our fathers in their turn
21:24took with them when with Joshua
21:26they came into the heritage of the nations
21:29whom God was driving out before the face of our fathers.
21:34Until the time of David,
21:36who was pleasing to God,
21:39and he had a desire to make a holy tent
21:41for the God of Jacob.
21:43But Solomon was the builder of his house.
21:47But still the Most High
21:48has not his resting place in houses made with hands,
21:52as the prophet says.
21:54Heaven is the seat of my power,
21:57and earth is a resting place for my feet.
22:01What sort of house will you make for me,
22:04says the Lord?
22:05Or what is my place of rest?
22:08Did not my hand make all these things?
22:12You whose hearts are hard
22:15and whose ears are shut to me,
22:17you are always working against the Holy Spirit
22:20as your fathers did.
22:22So do you.
22:26Which of the prophets
22:27was not cruelly attacked by your fathers,
22:30but then they put them to death,
22:32who gave them the news
22:34of the coming of the earth,
22:35bright one,
22:36whom you also have now given up
22:38and put to death,
22:40you to whom the law was given
22:42as it was ordered by angels,
22:44and have not kept it?
22:48Hearing these things,
22:49they were cut to the heart
22:51and moved with wrath against him.
22:54But he was full of the Holy Spirit,
22:57and looking up to heaven,
22:59he saw the glory of God
23:00and Jesus at the right hand of God.
23:03He said,
23:04Now I see the heavens open
23:06and the Son of Man
23:07at the right hand of God.
23:10But with loud cries
23:11and stopping their ears,
23:12they made an attack on him altogether,
23:15driving him out of the town
23:17and stoning him.
23:19And the witnesses
23:20put their clothing
23:21at the feet of a young man
23:23named Saul.
23:27Stephen,
23:28while he was being stoned,
23:29made prayer to God,
23:31saying,
23:32Lord Jesus,
23:33take my spirit.
23:34Going down on his knees,
23:36he said in a loud voice,
23:38Lord,
23:38do not make them responsible
23:40for this sin.
23:42And when he had said this,
23:44he went to his rest.
23:47And Saul gave approval
23:48to his death.
23:51And at that time,
23:52a violent attack
23:53was started against the church
23:54in Jerusalem,
23:55and all but the apostles
23:57went away
23:58into all parts of Judea
23:59and Samaria.
24:01God-fearing men
24:03put Stephen's body
24:04in its last resting place,
24:06making a great weeping
24:07over him.
24:08But Saul was burning
24:10with hatred
24:11against the church
24:12and went into every house
24:14and taking men and women,
24:16putting them in prison.
24:18Those who had gone in flight
24:20went everywhere,
24:22preaching the word.
24:23This is the word of the Lord.
24:27Thanks be to God.
24:33Collect for Peace
24:36O God,
24:37who is the author of peace
24:38and lover of concord,
24:41in knowledge of who stands
24:42our eternal life,
24:44whose service is perfect freedom,
24:47defend us,
24:48your humble servants,
24:50in all assaults of our enemies,
24:52that we,
24:53surely trusting in your defence,
24:56may not fear the power
24:58of any adversaries.
25:00Through the might of Jesus Christ,
25:02our Lord.
25:03Amen.
25:08Collect for our safe preservation.
25:11O Lord, our Heavenly Father,
25:13almighty and everlasting God,
25:15who has safely brought us
25:17to the beginning of this day,
25:20defend us in the same
25:21with your mighty power
25:22and grant that this day
25:24we fall into no sin,
25:27neither run into any kind of danger,
25:30but that all our doings
25:32may be ordered
25:33by your governance
25:35to do always that
25:37which is righteous
25:39in your sight.
25:40Through Jesus Christ,
25:42our Lord.
25:43Amen.
25:47Lord, let me accept
25:49calmly all
25:50that this day
25:51might bring me
25:52and let me devote myself
25:54completely
25:55to your sacred will.
25:58Direct me
25:59and help me
26:00each hour of this day.
26:02Control my thoughts
26:03and feelings
26:04in all my deeds
26:05and words.
26:07When unpredictable
26:08circumstances arise,
26:10do not let me forget
26:12that everything
26:13comes from you.
26:16Lord Jesus,
26:17Son of God,
26:18it is better not to live
26:20than to live without you.
26:22I thank you, God,
26:24for the gift
26:24of this new day
26:26and for all the good deeds
26:28you will help me do
26:30today.
26:32Holy Spirit,
26:33help me to dedicate
26:34this day
26:35to my Lord and Saviour.
26:37teach me to be just
26:39toward my brother
26:41and sister,
26:42never to provoke
26:44wrath or cause sorrow.
26:46Control my will
26:48and teach me to pray,
26:50to believe,
26:51to hope,
26:52to suffer,
26:53to forgive
26:54and to love.
26:56Amen.
27:01We pray for the work
27:02of your faithful servants
27:04throughout the world,
27:06Lord.
27:07Lord,
27:08in your mercy,
27:09hear our prayer.
27:14May the grace
27:15of our Lord Jesus Christ,
27:16the love of God
27:18and the fellowship
27:19of the Holy Spirit
27:20be with us all
27:22today
27:22and forevermore.
27:26Amen.
27:27Amen.
27:27Amen.
27:27Amen.
27:28Amen.
27:29Amen.
27:30Amen.
27:30Amen.
27:31Amen.
27:31Amen.
27:33Amen.
27:33You
