01:35Although we ought always to humbly acknowledge our sins before God, we should do this particularly when we assemble and
01:43meet together,
01:44to give thanks for the great benefits we have received at his hands.
01:48To give him most worthy praise, to hear his most holy word, and to ask those things which are truly
01:57necessary as well for the body as the soul.
02:02Therefore I pray and ask you, who are present here today, to accompany me with a pure heart and humble

06:20They spew out threats and speak defiantly.
06:24All the evildoers boast.
06:28O Lord, they crush your people.
06:30They oppress the nation that belongs to you.
06:34They kill the widow and the resident foreigner.
06:37They murder the fatherless.
06:40Then they say, the Lord does not see this.
06:43The God of Jacob does not take notice of it.

07:23The one whom you teach from your law in order to protect them from times of trouble until the wicked
07:31are destroyed.
07:34Certainly, the Lord does not forsake his people.
07:37He does not abandon the nation that belongs to him.
07:41For justice will prevail, and all the morally upright will be vindicated.
07:48Who will rise up to defend me against the wicked?
07:52Who will stand up for me against the evil doers?
07:55If the Lord had not helped me, I would soon have dwelt in the silence of death.
08:01If I say, my foot is slipping, your loyal love, O Lord, supports me.

08:57The Prophet Daniel, Chapter 7
09:01As for me, Daniel, my spirit was depressed.
09:05And the visions of my mind alarmed me.
09:09I approached one of those standing nearby and asked him about the meaning of all this.
09:14So he spoke with me, and revealed to me the interpretation of the vision.
09:21These large beasts, which are four in number, represent four kings who will arise from the earth.
09:29The holy ones of the Most High will receive the kingdom and take possession of the kingdom forever and ever.
09:39Then I wanted to know the meaning of the fourth beast, which was different from all the others, for it
09:45was very dreadful, with two rows of iron teeth, bronze claws.
09:50And it devoured, crushed, and trampled anything that was left with its feet.
09:57I also wanted to know the meaning of the ten horns on its head, and of that other horn which
10:03came up, and before which the other three fell.
10:08This was the horn that had eyes and a mouth, speaking arrogant things, whose appearance was more formidable than the
10:16others.
10:19While I was watching, that horn began to wage war against the holy ones, and was defeating them, until the
10:26Ancient of Days arrived, and judgment was rendered in favour of the holy ones of the Most High.
10:34Then the time came for the holy ones to take possession of the kingdom.
10:42This is what he told me, the fourth beast means that there will be a fourth kingdom on earth, that
10:49will differ from all the other kingdoms.
10:52It will devour all the earth and will trample and crush it.
10:58The ten horns mean the ten kings will arise from that kingdom.
11:03Another king will arise after him.
11:06But he will be different from the earlier ones.
11:10He will humiliate three kings.
11:13He will speak words against the Most High.
11:16He will harass the holy ones of the Most High continually.
11:20His intention will be to change the times established by law.
11:26They will be delivered into his hand for a time, times, and half a time.
11:35But the court will convene, and his ruling authority will be removed, destroyed, and abolished for ever.
11:44Then the kingdom, authority, and greatness of the kingdoms under all of heaven will be delivered to the people of
11:51the Holy Ones of the Most High.
11:53His kingdom is an eternal kingdom, and all authorities will serve him and obey him.
12:02This is the word of the Lord.

12:18Mary said,
12:19My soul exalts the Lord, and my spirit has begun to rejoice in God my Saviour,
12:26because he has looked upon the humble state of his servant.

13:44The Gospel according to Saint Mark, chapter 14
13:50Then Jesus said to them,
13:52You will all fall away, for it is written,
13:56I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.
14:01But after I am raised, I will go ahead of you, into Galilee.
14:07Peter said to him,
14:09Even if they all fall away, I will not.
14:13Jesus said to him,
14:15I tell you the truth.
14:17Today, even this very night, before the rooster crows twice,
14:22you will deny me three times.
14:27But Peter insisted emphatically,
14:31Even if I must die with you, I will never deny you.

14:50And he took Peter, James, and John with him,

14:58My soul is deeply grieved, even to the point of death.
15:03Remain here and stay alert.
15:07Going a little further,
15:09He threw himself to the ground,
15:11And prayed that if it were possible,
15:13The hour would pass from him.

15:18Abba, Father,
15:20All things are possible for you.
15:23Take this cup from me.

15:27But what you will.
15:30Then he came and found them sleeping,
15:32And said to Peter,
15:33Simon,
15:35Are you sleeping?
15:37Couldn't you stay awake for just one hour?
15:41Stay awake and pray that you will not fall into temptation.
15:46The spirit is willing,
15:47But the flesh is weak.
15:52He went away again and prayed the same thing.
15:56When he came again,
15:58He found them sleeping.
15:59They could not keep their eyes open,
16:01And did not know what to tell him.
16:05He came a third time and said to them,
16:08Are you still sleeping and resting?
16:11Enough of that.
16:14The hour has come.
16:15Look,
16:16The Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

17:40A young man followed him,
17:42Wearing only a linen cloth.
17:44They tried to arrest him too,
17:47But he ran off naked,
17:49Leaving his linen cloth behind.
