00:00And we saw some drama, to say the least, on Saturday.
00:05And we have to go to Ann Arbor with Western Michigan and Michigan
00:08with that crazy ending to that game.
00:11No question, they put that second back on the clock there in Ann Arbor
00:16to save face for Michigan, not getting upset,
00:20and beating Western Michigan 13-12.
00:24There's a couple things of context here.
00:26First and foremost, we have to get rid of conference referees.
00:31It's got to be a national conference when it comes to picking referees
00:37across the board.
00:39You've got to have a standard referee system like the NFL does
00:44where these guys can go to any conference and they can ref these games
00:50without any impartiality.
00:52That's exactly what you saw.
00:54Why in God's name would you think in Ann Arbor, Big Ten officials
00:59are not going to be going for the Big Ten team and giving them every opportunity
01:05for them to go out and win that ball game?
01:09It was like a do-over.
01:10They basically hurt Western Michigan's chances, obviously,
01:15by putting that second back on the clock.
01:18And having these Big Ten refs, Southeastern Conference refs,
01:22look, this is all about protecting the cash register.
01:25Now, with all that said, you know why Western Michigan hasn't really kicked up their heels
01:32and really made a big stink of this?
01:34Well, let's just be here to tell you the reality behind the curtain here.
01:39You think the MAAC is going to jeopardize the Big Ten
01:43and their relationship with the Big Ten on scheduling non-conference games?
01:47$1.5 million was given, whether or not they won or they lost to Western Michigan.
01:54Next year, you've got another MAAC team going into Ann Arbor.
01:59You think that conference is going to jeopardize that relationship?
02:03When you have conferences now that are handpicking who your non-conference games are going to be,
02:08they want that relationship to stay.
02:11They do not want to dent that relationship in any way whatsoever.
02:16That's why the MAAC is not going over the top in saying that they got jobbed in that game in
02:22Ann Arbor.
02:23Nor would anybody else.
02:25If Western Michigan wants to, say, get an away game with Indiana for $1.5 million,
02:32do you know how important that money is to programs like Western Michigan?
02:37This has got nothing to do with right and wrong.
02:40This has got everything to do with the economics.
02:42And it also shows you this.
02:45The Mid-America Conference has no backbone.
02:48They can't fight the Big Ten.
02:50They're in a position right now where they're submissive to conferences like the SEC and the Big Ten.
02:57You jeopardize those relationships, the chances of you making money on going to those buildings are out the door.
03:04That's why nobody's really making a stink there at the MAAC when it comes to talking about how that game
03:13finished.
03:13You know, for you and me, the fans, obviously, Western Michigan got jobbed in that game.
03:19But at the end of the day, this is about money, my friends.
03:22Plain and simple, okay?
03:24All this is today is about money.
03:28I said this a little bit in the open, and I'm going to say it again.
03:33Clemson is out of gas.
03:36Dabo Sweeney has done such a great job at Clemson.
03:41He really has.
03:43National championships, 10-win teams, all the things that you would want for a big-time college football program.
03:51He's a Hall of Fame coach.
03:53He's a Hall of Fame man.
03:54He's been on our program, and he's a dear friend of ours.
03:58But maybe it's time for a new zip code for Dabo and maybe a change for Clemson.
04:04Clemson right now has not embraced the nil.
04:09Clemson has not embraced in any way whatsoever the transfer portal.
04:14They have it.
04:15And when you get crushed 51-10 like that, and you're not even competitive,
04:21that team was not competitive.
04:24You have so many good opportunities.
04:27Clemson is a rich school.
04:28Clemson is a rich program.
04:30And when you're getting your head kicked in like that on national television,
04:35your program's going in the opposite direction,
04:37and you're not embracing college football of today.
04:42Dabo's still in the time when college football was back in the Saban days.
04:46I see Saban doing those commercials now to save college sports.
04:52College sports?
04:54College sports is continuing to evolve.
04:57Dabo's not.
04:58Got to say this about LSU.
05:00Boy, I'll tell you, that team looks for real.
05:04And you know what?
05:05They're the ultimate villain.
05:06And I should be embracing that because our football teams were the ultimate villains back in the day.
05:12And there's something about wearing that moniker and having that bullseye on you.
05:16When you open your mouth as big as Lane has, the target is even bigger.
05:22People are looking to take shots at you all the time.
05:25That program is must-see TV this year.
05:28It's all because of the head coach.
05:30Coach.
