00:00Huge news came down this week.
00:02Now, the coaching carousel that we've been talking about for many weeks is usually, okay, coach gets fired.
00:06Yep, that's normal.
00:07Coach leaves for another job.
00:08Opening opens up here.
00:10Michigan Wolverines, national championship just a few short years ago.
00:13Michigan Wolverines do not have a head coach this morning.
00:16And some are saying, like, oh, no, is it because he lost to Ohio State?
00:19No, it wasn't, Joe.
00:20What a tangled web we weave on how Jerome Moore actually got fired.
00:24I couldn't believe this story.
00:25You couldn't have told me this was a movie.
00:27Yeah, it was unbelievable.
00:28Now, if you read all the reports, and obviously we have to see exactly how the criminal investigation now plays out,
00:37and obviously innocent until proven guilty, but supposedly Michigan and the organization and program was aware of this activity
00:46and was working behind the scenes to potentially at least have a fail-safe plan in place.
00:53But, I mean, just the off-the-field stuff, Donnie.
00:56I mean, there were reports.
00:58He was texting at halftime.
01:01Oh, I've got to get in there.
01:02We've got to check somebody.
01:03Texting at halftime of Ohio State?
01:06I mean, you know, unbelievable about the reports.
01:11And, again, you feel for the student athletes.
01:13You feel for players like Bryce Underwood that came there.
01:17And now, if you care about Michigan, you're a Michigan backer.
01:21You have to get a big name, obviously, a new head coach, stable the waters, and then keep the talent.
01:27Because, Wayne Kiffin, now, the shark.
01:30All these big programs that have money are going to look to poach players when nobody's watching because there's no head coach in place.
01:38Biff Pogge's great.
01:40He does have a head coaching experience from Charlotte.
01:44But Biffin, and even though Biff has money himself, he ain't throwing money at these players to keep him right now because he doesn't even know if he's going to be there.
01:53Pretty incredible how it all came down, too.
01:54Because when you see when the investigation actually started, Joe, the previous summer where both of these two, you know, got in front of a room or at least with Ward-Manuel, the AD, hey, this is a lie.
02:02We're not connected in any way.
02:04I don't know who started this vicious lie.
02:05And then usually the university goes, all right, that's good enough.
02:08We don't really want to dig into this because of what the implications would be.
02:11And then you saw some of the stuff start to come out on social media early December, Joe.
02:15And the Michigan guys, this is ridiculous.
02:17What an unfounded, substantiated rumor.
02:19Then it comes to light.
02:20And then you get, again, the technicalities of sometimes most people don't understand how the corporate world works.
02:25And college football is corporate world, which if you are a, you know, supervisor and an underling, you cannot have a relationship because of what you saw, what actually played out, Joe.
02:34Hey, I make 50 grand.
02:36I make 50 grand.
02:36Wait a second.
02:37I make 100 grand now.
02:37Well, what's that double in pay?
02:39Oh, just a really good assistant, you know, at this point.
02:41And then you're seeing, like, the relationship gets strained.
02:43And then what happens here?
02:45Michigan had no choice whatsoever than to get rid of this.
02:48And they're probably looking at a multimillion-dollar lawsuit on top of this.
02:50Yeah, and then there were reports about A.D., you know, Ward-Manuel not firing with the HR.
02:56No HR in the room.
02:57Right.
02:57So there you go.
02:58We don't know the real story.
03:00And I'm sure we'll have other reports throughout the month about how this plays out.
03:06But, again, some of the names being mentioned now.
03:08Yeah, get to it.
03:09You know, Gruden, you know, obviously DeBoer and some of the others.
03:13Jed Fish, which, you know.
03:15Jed Fish.
03:16Look, you want Jed Fish as your head coach in Ann Arbor?
03:20Does that fire up the fan base?
03:21That's great.
03:22I mean, he won his first road game against Maryland this year in two years.
03:26I mean, give me a break.
03:28We're talking about Michigan.
03:29Yeah.
03:29Again, it's got to be a big name.
03:32And I heard, like, Marcus Freeman being reported to that, too.
03:36To go to Michigan?
03:36No, no, no.
03:36That's the point.
03:37Tremendous.
03:37You're coaching Notre Dame, like, how some of these reports get linked out.
03:42But I would take a shot, I mean, on Gruden, just because, again, you know, the NFL ties.
03:50The head coach, he's a big enough, recognizable name.
03:53And, again, has ties to the university, obviously, working in media now.
03:58So, you know, I would take a shot on that as opposed to some of the other.
04:04Why do you want Kalen DeBoer if you're Michigan?
04:07He's not winning at Alabama at the level that Nick Saban up until this point gave him the reins.
04:13Why would you want Kalen DeBoer roaming the sidelines in Ann Arbor?
04:19It makes no sense.
