00:00But what was your takeaway and what you saw with that nightmare up in Ann Arbor?
00:06How they explained it, and then you come back out with their explanation or redefinition of the clock and all
00:14that other stuff.
00:15When I first heard the explanation, my brain kind of crackled.
00:20And I went, wait a minute, the official clock is in the replay booth?
00:26I mean, the official clock is whatever's on the damn screen, that's the official clock.
00:35You know, as it turns out, you know, that is the official clock.
00:39I don't know.
00:40If I'm Western Michigan, if I'm the Mac, you know, I guess everyone says, oh, they're taking the high road.
00:47My ass.
00:48They should not take the high road.
00:50I mean, they should.
00:52Everybody else sues.
00:53They sue to get players in the game.
00:57I would really go all out against whoever you got to do it.
01:03I mean, Western Michigan won that game, and they won it, and they did it against, I mean, I guess
01:10maybe pariah is the wrong word, but it's pretty close to fitting the Michigan program.
01:15You look at them over the last decade or so, what they've represented, and you're defending that?
01:22You're putting that ahead of, you know, a team and a great story like Weston, but I don't know.
01:28At some point, you've got to quit being surprised by college football.
01:32How about this, too, Randy?
01:33Do you not agree that one of the things and the reason that the Mac is not going to kick
01:37a lot of dust up on this is because the Big Ten can just turn around and look at the
01:42Mac and say, fine, you want to make a big-time issue of this?
01:45You know that $1.5 million deal you got for getting that game?
01:49If you ever want Mac games ever scheduled with non-conference with the Big Ten, guess what?
01:55You'll sit down and shut your faces, or we'll go to the American Conference or Conference USA and start scheduling
02:01those games.
02:02It just shows you how much power the Big Ten and the Southeastern Conference have because, like you said, everyone
02:08sues for everything nowadays.
02:09To not to sit there and really go to battle for those kids, this came down to the cash register.
02:15Yeah, there's no doubt.
02:17There's no doubt.
02:17And, you know, I love the job that Tony Petitti has done at the Big Ten.
02:23I think he's done a fantastic job putting them in the position that they are in.
02:30I would love to sit down and have a conversation with Tony about this, about the way this was handled,
02:35you know, in general.
02:38But, yeah, I think what you have to look at is the reality that these guys get paid a lot
02:43of money.
02:44And that's the ultimate bottom line these days in college sports.
02:49You don't follow the money.
02:50The money is college sports.
02:53Randy, do you think that this could become an issue if, let's say, Michigan has a game this weekend and
02:59they turn it around with Bryce Underwood and they end up beating Oklahoma, which I don't believe they end up
03:04doing.
03:04But let's just say they do.
03:06Doesn't this make it even more difficult for the committee and who you're going to take for that 12-team
03:11tournament?
03:12Because at the end of the day here, look what just happened.
03:15They were ranked like 16th in the preseason AP poll.
03:19Now they've taken them out of the top 25.
03:22I mean, could this be an issue?
03:24And, again, you know, this weekend is going to be a pretty big game this weekend for them to see
03:28if they can turn this around.
03:29I love Kyle Whittingham.
03:31He's one of my favorite people.
03:32I think they hired a right guy who really built that Utah program after Urban Meyer.
03:37How do you think this is going to be maybe a blemish this year, especially if Michigan continues to win?
03:44Well, it potentially, I guess, could be.
03:47And I'm with you on Kyle Whittingham.
03:49I'm a huge fan.
03:51I love what he did at Utah.
03:54I love the attitude.
03:55I love how his teams play.
03:58And it was a smart hire by Michigan, especially having the embarrassments back-to-back-to-back over the last
04:05few years.
04:08And he'll handle this well.
04:10And my guess is he'll have them right where you're describing now that they've got this win.
04:17How do you move back?
04:19You play well.
04:20You beat Oklahoma.
04:22How do you play?
04:23How do you do this?
04:23You get Ohio State at the end of the year.
04:26How do you do this?
04:27You get the rest of them during the course of your Big Ten play.
04:30That's kind of how you do it.
04:33I just don't – I'm not really positive they're going to have the team to do that, but I know
04:37they have the coach.
