00:00And as you go down the list, and I don't know if you've seen the list,
00:04but who are you thinking that you would want to lay your hard-earned cash on?
00:09Because I saw today on the feed right before the show,
00:12Caleb Bore's like, I'm not going to Michigan.
00:14Roll Tide, you know?
00:15But Jet Fish, Kenny Dillingham, I mean, Portnoy's like,
00:20let's make John Gruden the next guy.
00:22Let's fulfill the prophecy of what he wanted to do when he was in high school.
00:25Fulfill the prophecy.
00:26He did.
00:27He said that.
00:27Portnoy's comments are absolutely.
00:29That's what he said.
00:32Let's fulfill the prophecy.
00:33I don't know.
00:34Maybe he didn't say that.
00:35Schlegs is over there with a call grin talking to John Gruden.
00:37Schlegs, first, I would just always advise from the actual betting perspective,
00:41never, ever, ever put too much stock into coaching odds to be that next head coach at any program.
00:48They are done offshore.
00:49They are done more for content than an actual betting market.
00:53There is no rhythm.
00:53There is no algorithm.
00:55There is no model that presents those odds.
00:57There is nothing really behind it except for what you and I might know or read or have any of those sources.
01:04It's not really a market that you can bet even legally here in the United States.
01:09It's certainly not one I would advocate laying a wager in.
01:13But in terms of who that next head coach becomes in Ann Arbor, really anything is on the docket.
01:19It's just a matter of which this timing is now happening in the coaching carousel.
01:24Had this happened even a week and a half ago, Michigan vaults to the top of that head coaching board,
01:29in front of Penn State, in front of Florida, and many others.
01:33I'm not so sure that Kalen DeBoer is out of the running.
01:38I really did not put a lot of stock into Penn State having a chance at Kalen DeBoer as this season was still playing out for the Crimson Tide.
01:46But anytime there is smoke, there is at least a small bit of fire.
01:49And I think in the immediate reaction yesterday to this news, many national reporters, many national college football media members saying that Kalen DeBoer seemed to be the most fitting potential next head coach for Michigan.
02:03Again, that smoke is really starting to billow once again.
02:06That fire seems pretty large.
02:08I would put some stock into the idea that Kalen DeBoer is a realistic possibility for Michigan.
02:13I don't have any info.
02:14I don't have any sources.
02:16I didn't even know Sharon Moore was having an affair until yesterday afternoon.
02:19But I do think there is some smoke behind Kalen DeBoer.
02:22It's been presented now twice that he could be a potential for the biggest jobs in the Big Ten.
02:27Yeah, it's pretty remarkable.
02:29And this coaching carousel, Penn State, seemed to grab Matt Campbell, who ironically, Ben, he had been linked to that Michigan job a couple of times,
02:37both when Harbaugh got hired and then at times when they thought they might move on from Harbaugh or he might leave.
02:43And then ultimately when they hired Sharon Moore, and now he's off the board and over at Penn State.
02:47And this late, I'm not sure exactly where you go, what you're going to do.
02:51I'm not sure where they go from here.
02:54Does it feel to you, Ben, like they've got to hire someone from outside of that traditional coaching tree that they've had there?
03:01Yeah, two things, Bobby.
03:02Completely agree with that, right?
03:03Whether you agree with what happened in the punishment and the discipline that was handed down to Michigan football because of the sign-stealing scandal led by Connor Stallions,
03:12there is no doubt that Michigan was playing outside of the rules, that Michigan had broken the law when it comes to the NCAA regulations.
03:21That's strike number one.
03:22Of course, there were the recruiting violations.
03:24I don't put a lot of stock into that.
03:25That's strike number two.
03:26And now you have this situation, regardless of the nature of the affair between Sharon Moore and that female staffer.
03:32It is, of course, a violation of university policy to be the head coach and maybe one of the highest paid employees of a public university in the entire state of Michigan
03:41and to do that in the power dynamics that are at play.
03:44Things are very unstable in Ann Arbor in the last three, four, five years.
03:48And somebody needs to answer for it.
03:50And so, to your point, Bobby, in terms of the timeline of as we are going to unravel all of this information,
03:56the athletic director, Ward Manuel, who has been in the captain's chair for all of this,
04:00whether you agree with how significant the rule-breaking was, Ward Manuel has been the guy for all of this.
04:07What did he know?
04:08When did he know?
04:09What does that timeline look like?
04:11I think his job is on the chopping block.
04:12It really does feel like an entire new wave, a new era is needed for Michigan football to provide some stability for that program,
04:21regardless of what the on-field results have said.
04:23So, yes, I do think they make a big splash higher from somebody outside of the program currently
04:30and not just turn it over to Biff Pogey, although I think he will be great in this interest.
