In a troubling exchange on The People's Court, Michelle Parker describes a confrontation with her former fiancé, Dale Smith Jr., that required police and hotel security to intervene. She recounts being escorted through a hotel to retrieve her belongings, only to face another dispute over an engagement ring and luggage.

Judge Marilyn Milian presided over the $5,000 engagement ring dispute in an episode that aired November 17, 2011. Later that same day, Parker disappeared in Orlando, Florida, after dropping off the couple's twin children at Smith's condominium. The judge ultimately ordered Parker to pay $2,500 in the televised case.

On October 14, 2026, nearly 15 years after Parker's disappearance, Orlando police arrested Smith and charged him with second-degree murder in connection with the case. The charge remains an allegation, not a conviction. Watch this archival People's Court clip as Parker describes the events surrounding the end of their relationship.
