00:00You tell me this, Mike.
00:01Who's Michigan?
00:02I love Kyle Winningham, man.
00:04He's been on our program a couple months ago,
00:06and he was just absolutely dope.
00:08We love that he spent time with us here.
00:10But, man, that Michigan program, one week they look great against OU.
00:14Another week, then they fall flat.
00:16I mean, who's Michigan?
00:19I think that's a big question.
00:21Michigan is a huge enigma right now.
00:23Michigan is somebody or a team that is supposed to have success
00:28because of its name.
00:30Michigan is still living off of the life that they had under Jim Harbaugh years ago.
00:37You know, three, four years ago, they won a national championship.
00:39But Michigan is still trying to find itself.
00:42And I think with the coaches they have right now,
00:44obviously, Winningham coming over from Utah,
00:46I think they will eventually find themselves.
00:48But they need to clean up the mess that is already left behind.
00:51It's a lot of residue.
00:53What I think Michigan is is a mediocre football team.
00:57I don't think they're good at all.
00:58I think offensively, they do enough.
01:00I think they beat Oklahoma.
01:02But then you look and see what Oklahoma is this year.
01:04Oklahoma is not the team that we thought it was going to be.
01:07It's another reason why I think even as an AP voter,
01:09I think that we should not be having AP preseason polls
01:13because we just don't know.
01:15It's just a huge guessing game.
01:16And so we go into the season thinking that this team is great
01:20and that, oh, this win over this team is a great win.
01:23But then at the end of the season, you look back and you realize,
01:26well, maybe that wasn't a great win after all.
01:28So I think Michigan is a huge enigma, still trying to find itself.
01:31But they got the right coach in place.
01:34And I think if he's given the power that I know he needs to have
01:38to get that job done, he will.
01:41But is Bryce Underwood overrated?
01:44Bryce Underwood shouldn't be rated.
01:47I think the thing about Bryce, and I hate to say it that way
01:52because I was talking about this the other day.
01:55I said, name a quarterback that came in as a true freshman.
02:01Now, I know Kamari Taylor is going to say,
02:02but I'm talking about coming in as a true freshman
02:06and right away, you're expected to help a team
02:11with national championship expectations.
02:15That was Bryce Underwood last year.
02:17Bryce Underwood came in with immense pressure.
02:20The weight of the world was on his shoulder.
02:22If you look at the Michigan football team two years ago,
02:25it was almost like they went back to the 1940s or 30s
02:28before they had the forward pass.
02:29You know, they could not pass the ball forward.
02:31So he comes in after two years after J.J. McCarthy
02:35leads him to a national championship,
02:36two or three years after J.J. McCarthy
02:37leads him to a national championship,
02:38and all of a sudden he's put in his position
02:40to win right away, and he just couldn't do it.
02:44Now, that's experience.
02:46Once again, a freshman quarterback doing that
02:48with all that expectation at Michigan,
02:50that was tough on him.
02:51But over a period of time, I just haven't seen the growth.
02:55I haven't seen the development.
02:56Now, I think lately with Whittingham
03:00running the right kind of offense,
03:02and if he uses his legs a little bit more,
03:04I think he'll be a solid quarterback.
03:06But I really think it's time for a fresh start
03:09for the quarterback.
03:11I think it's time for him to hit that transfer portal
03:14and go somewhere else.
03:15I think it'd be best for him,
03:16and I think it'd be best for Michigan fans as well.
