00:14Well hello there folks and a very warm festive welcome back to What's For Tea and it's lovely
00:20to see you all again and thank you all so much for sharing your favourite Christmas movies in
00:26my last video I think the most popular are Elf, Love Actually and Home Alone and loads of you are
00:33loving It's a Wonderful Life which is my favourite Christmas movie lots of you are loving A Christmas
00:39Carol you know the old one with Alistair Sim some of you are lovers of Die Hard and also The
00:46Grinch
00:47which I've never seen and also The Snowman Mrs H had written she loves The Snowman but it always
00:53makes her cry and it makes me cry as well when he melts and oh lots of you are loving
00:58the Polar
00:59Express and The Grinch as well which I've never actually seen but anyway back on to this week's
01:05meals of the week so welcome to you and if you're new do consider subscribing just before you go I
01:11always start off on Monday through till today which is Sunday and if I've done a video recipe and anything
01:18that you see here I will always leave it linked underneath in the description box so let me go
01:24and show you what I made this week starting off on Monday oh and Mary Poppins as well I love
01:30Mary
01:30Poppins if that is considered a Christmas film so on Monday we had chicken and we seemed to have a
01:37lot
01:37of beef this week and usually it's the other way around usually it's lots of chicken but this week it's
01:42lots of beef but on Monday we did have chicken so I've got some creamy mashed potato and there's
01:48butter in there and some fresh parsley as well I steamed some carrots and again I added some parsley
01:55and some butter that's a roast chicken breast just on the top and then a lovely creamy mushroom sauce
02:02instead of gravy you know just for a wee change and then another wee bit of parsley on top as
02:08well
02:08this was a lovely combination of flavours thoroughly enjoyed that one on Monday and then Tuesday you
02:15will have seen this one already this was my video recipe for this week was the Christmas dinner broth
02:21or Christmas dinner soup and this wasn't as popular as I thought it was going to be because it's so
02:27easy
02:28and it's so festive but I guess a lot of you aren't into this type of soup maybe a bit
02:33too thick a bit too
02:34traditional but I thoroughly enjoyed this one just with a wee bit of stuffing on the top just adds a
02:41wee bit of something extra as well and then some bread and butter on the side and you really don't
02:46need
02:46more than that it's just so hearty and this was it here in the slow cooker when it was ready
02:52but I will
02:53leave the link to this video down below just in case you want to go and watch it in case
02:57you missed it the
02:58first time around and then moving on to Wednesday we had beef curry so this is a kind of Chinese
03:05takeaway style beef curry and I usually make my curries like this with chicken but just for a wee
03:12change I decided to use the beef so this is just some boiled short grain or is it long grain
03:18no it's
03:18boiled long grain rice and that's the beef curry on the top and there's just onions in there and a
03:25hot
03:25spicy curry sauce I was going to add some peas but I didn't bother with the peas in the end
03:31and this was
03:31lovely as well and ever so easy to make and then moving on to Thursday I got some beef olives
03:38from the
03:39local butcher and these look raw but let me assure you they are fully cooked it's just because they are
03:45made with beef sausage and they tend to stay pink although they are fully cooked so I've got a jacket
03:52potato
03:52at the side and then just some garden peas and these are beef olives so it's just beef sausage
03:59wrapped in a very thin beef steak which I cook in the oven with gravy sometimes onions I didn't bother
04:06with the onions this time so it's just the beef olives with the gravy over the top and like I
04:11said
04:11they do look very pink and raw but they are fully cooked and then moving on to Friday I made
04:18a carbonara
04:19now I know this isn't a sort of authentic carbonara which is using basically an egg yolk sauce this is
04:26our take on a carbonara or if you ask most folk in the UK you know for a family dinner
04:32carbonara this
04:33is what they'll do it's just a sort of creamy mushroom and ham sauce with the tagliatelle sometimes we use
04:39spaghetti but this time is using the fresh tagliatelle with just a couple of slices of garlic bread behind
04:47and then some fresh black pepper some parmesan and a wee bit of parsley on the top as well and
04:54folk will say to me that's not a carbonara and I know what a carbonara should be and no it's
04:59not
04:59a traditional carbonara but it's our kind of carbonara and then moving on to Saturday we had
05:06our Mr. What's for Tea had one of these wee scotch pies and I do have a video recipe for
05:12these as well
05:13I will leave down below it's just hot water pastry and traditionally it would be mutton inside and
05:20they are lovely but ever so traditional and much loved you know all over the country and we usually
05:26would have chips and beans or chips and peas something like that so tonight it's pie chips and beans which
05:33is
05:33a lovely combination I didn't fancy this so I had brown rice beef and broccoli I've been having this
05:40quite a lot recently and it's just so filling full of protein and goodness sometimes I do this with
05:46chicken as well but I've been loving the beef recently as you'll have seen if you have been
05:52watching my meals of the week recently and then moving on to today we had good old mince and tatties
05:59so I picked up a pound of mince beef from the local butcher and I was in the other day
06:03getting the
06:04beef olives and I don't think you can beat butcher you know the butcher for any kind of meat but
06:10in
06:10particular you know the stew and steak the mince beef the sausages I think are just far superior from
06:16the local butcher and I know they are a wee bit more but my opinion worth the extra pennies so
06:22I've got
06:22some creamy mashed potatoes some buttery swede and that's that mince beef gravy onions and carrots on the
06:28side and we like to add a wee bit of puff pastry because it makes it more of a pie
06:33and the texture of the
06:34pastry with everything else it's just lovely so that was everything that we had this week so
06:40thank you so much for watching if you're still here and thank you once again for sharing your
06:45favourite Christmas movies with me I had lots of fun reading through them all and I have hearted most
