A Waitrose Scotland family grocery haul with plenty of smart bargains, fresh food, and a few pricier treats makes this week’s shop worth a look. Cheryl shares what she picked up after Waitrose started delivering to her area, noting that the shop came in at just under £70 and included a mix of essentials, reduced items, and protein-focused groceries.

From snack drawer crisps, carrots, swede, cabbage, pasta, sweetcorn, bananas, eggs, yogurt, blueberries, frozen peas and chips, to fresh chicken, fish, mince, and a chicken pie, the haul covers everyday UK groceries and meal ideas for the week. She also talks through Waitrose own-brand basics, reduced-price paper goods, and a few standout items like the fancy vindaloo sauce, Biscoff biscuits, and fresh soup, while comparing prices with supermarkets such as Sainsbury’s and Tesco.

It’s a practical supermarket haul, grocery review, and budget shopping chat rolled into one, with a focus on what Waitrose offers when you shop around the reductions. If you enjoy family food hauls, UK supermarket shopping, Waitrose reviews, grocery haul videos, and real-life meal planning, this is a useful browse.

00:06well hello there folks and a very warm welcome back to what's for tea it's lovely to see you
00:11and i hope that i find you well and thanks for coming over for this week's food shopping
00:16and bagging and this week we've had a waitrose delivery waitrose are now delivering in my area
00:22and the nearest store is about 50 minutes away and i managed to get free delivery so it was a
00:27no-brainer really waitrose is seen as a kind of higher end supermarket you know in the states
00:34maybe comparable to something like public's or wegmans in my opinion it's not quite as fancy as
00:40marx and spencer's but a wee bit above sainsbury's i would say but they do still have all their offers
00:46and things going on so i managed to get quite a lot of you know good wee deals and it
00:51was around about
00:51what i'd normally spend anyway so to me it's more or less the same so let me go and show
00:57you what i
00:57got this week and no particular order as usual so i needed some crisps for the snack drawer and this
01:03is their essential waitrose so this is their more kind of budget own brand line they do have another
01:09line of their own branded products but this is a kind of step down or their basics range so this
01:15was
01:15a pound for six bags you really can't go wrong and then i needed a swede we're going to be
01:20having
01:20mince and tatties and then i got a cabbage as well have to say the cabbage and the swede are
01:26tiny and
01:27then i got a bag of carrots as well these are more or less the same price as the sainsbury's
01:33carrot so
01:33no difference there this kitchen roll apparently was originally six pounds so at half price it sounds
01:40like a good deal but six pounds seems very expensive for two kitchen rolls originally then i got a box
01:47of
01:48their high protein penny which i thought wasn't a bad price because there's quite a lot in there
01:52and i do like the higher protein pasta from tesco another half price offer was this lurel but i got
01:59this lurel was it last week or the week before from sainsbury's and it was half price there as well
02:04so
02:04just the same then i got a can of their own sweet corn a wee bit of money off this
02:09there's a wee bit of
02:10money off most things to be fair and then a big bag of our usual maris pipers but the packaging
02:15in this was so thick and that was a wee difference that i did notice the packaging
02:20seems to be better quality it's crazy and then i got one of their own high protein this is the
02:26large
02:26pot of yogurt so i you know i usually get the greek yogurt this is natural but it's high protein
02:31so i'm
02:32guessing it's going to be more or less the same kind of flavor and then i got some of their
02:38own
02:38blueberries which i felt were a wee bit expensive this is quite a small pack and then a couple of
02:43tins
02:43of their own branded sort of budget range tomato soup just to see what it's like and then one of
02:50their fresh soups so this is the cream of chicken and i thought this looked lovely so i'll be looking
02:55forward to trying that at some point and then a couple of fish cakes as well again a wee bit
03:01dearer
03:01than i think these would be at the likes of sainsbury's or even tesco so a wee bit of money
03:06off these
03:06as well but full price these are over five pounds which yes a lot more expensive than they would be
03:12in sainsbury's and then our usual bananas and i think these are around the same price in fact i think
03:17sainsbury's are actually 79p for five bananas and then i needed some eggs for a recipe and again these
03:25are about the same price as what i would expect to pay in sainsbury's for six eggs and then a
03:30couple
03:31of yogurts which are always on offer doesn't doesn't seem to matter where you buy these these are
03:36always on offer so they were on offer in waitrose as well so i got two of those and then
03:42this chicken
03:43again was on offer so this is a fresh chicken and it's got stuffing and butter in there so you
03:48just
03:48pop it into the oven and roast that you know this will roast quite happily in the tray so i'm
03:53looking
03:53forward to trying this so not a bad price with the discount this chicken pie again a wee bit of
03:59money
03:59off of this and i thought it looked lovely very easy to make your own pies but i think you
04:04know
04:04that's a really good buy it's quite a good you know a good size and i picked up a ridiculously
04:09priced
04:11vindaloo sauce so this is just an indian sort of vindaloo curry style cooking sauce and it's from the
04:17brand jimkana jimkana is actually an it's an indian restaurant in london i think they've got another few
04:23dotted throughout the world but it's a fine dining restaurant yeah and it's apparently it's a
04:27michelin two star so i will be interested to try this sauce it's a crazy expensive sauce for what
04:34it is so hopefully it's going to be nice then i picked up some biscoff biscuits who remembers these
04:40these were all the rage a couple of years ago and then some butter as well just needed the one
04:46this week and then these were also on offer so just be sort of caramel cup biscuits but the brand
04:51bond my man they make some really nice preserves and jams so those i think are going to be lovely
04:56and then some frozen peas for the freezer and then some frozen chips as well wee bit of money off
05:03these
05:03again so yeah lots and lots of different offers throughout the whole store and then some parsley
05:08and this ham as well again was quite expensive originally but with the discount it brings it back
05:14down in line with what you know i would generally pay in sainsbury's so it started off dearer but
05:20with the discount i'm just paying more or less the same so yeah that should be lovely as well so
05:25that
05:25was everything that i got in waitrose but i still need to get minced beef and sausages from the local
05:31butcher like i said lots and lots of offers dotted you know throughout the store so i think at the
05:37end
05:37of the day when you're checking out i don't think you're really paying any more if you shop smart and
05:42there are lots of cheaper items you could have went for as well you could shop the entire essential
05:47range and you probably save yourself a wee bit of money so if you've got a waitrose near you get
05:52on
05:52and have a wee look you might be surprised but thank you so much for watching a huge thank you
05:57as usual
