Creamy coconut bars coated in silky chocolate come together in this easy homemade Bounty Bar recipe, with a texture and finish that closely echo Mounds Bars and Almond Joy Bars. The mixture is made from desiccated coconut, icing sugar, sweetened condensed milk and a little vanilla, then shaped into bar-sized pieces and chilled until firm.

Once set, the coconut bars are dipped in melted milk chocolate for a smooth, thick coating, then finished with the classic little ridges across the top. It’s a simple chocolate and coconut treat with just a handful of ingredients, and the recipe makes around 10 to 12 bars depending on size. Perfect if you enjoy no-fuss homemade sweets, chocolate-dipped coconut bars, or easy dessert recipes that look impressive without much effort.

This is a great recipe for anyone searching for Bounty Bar recipe, homemade Mounds Bars, Almond Joy style bars, coconut chocolate bars, or easy sweet treat ideas. Ideal for dessert lovers, baking at home, and simple candy-style recipes with a homemade finish.

00:05well hello there folks and a very warm welcome back to what's for tea it's lovely to see you
00:11and i hope that i find you very well and today i've got these wonderful bounty bars it's just
00:17a lovely squidgy coconut covered in lovely milk chocolate they're so easy to make so let me go
00:23and show you how i made these and as we use the ingredients i will put them on the screen
00:28so the first thing you're going to need obviously is desiccated coconut i'm also going to use some
00:33cooking chocolate use whatever chocolate you prefer and then some sweetened condensed milk just
00:39to help bind everything together you won't need much of this like i said this is just going to
00:43act as a binder and then i'm going to add a touch of vanilla as well just a quarter teaspoon
00:48just to
00:49give it extra sweetness and then some icing sugar to give it that sort of you know creamy squidgy
00:55element so grab yourself a nice big bowl the first thing i'm going to add is my desiccated coconut
01:00and also that icing sugar you just want to combine both of these in the bowl just be careful because
01:06you don't want your icing sugar flying everywhere so just make sure you know that's well worked into
01:11your coconut and then i'm going to add the condensed milk and also the vanilla so you just want to
01:18combine
01:18these it may take you a few minutes just to make sure it's done properly make sure there's nothing
01:23dry left in the bottom of the bowl so i like to use a nice stiff spoon for this because
01:29easier to work
01:30the condensed milk into your coconut this way i find over a spatula just until it's looking like this and
01:37it's all uniform and just the one big ball so i am going to weigh this and i want about
01:4310 bars
01:44so i'm just going to divide my mixture into 10 but if you want smaller bars obviously you can have
01:50more it's entirely up to you but i quite you know i quite like chunky nice chunky bars so i'm
01:57going to
01:57divide mine into 10 balls and then with nice wet hands because this will be sticky so make sure your
02:04hands are wet i'm just going to form this into a cylinder or a log and then sort of flatten
02:10it down
02:10pat it down round the edges out until it looks something like this so do that for all of your
02:17mixture until it looks something like this you want to refrigerate this for about half an hour
02:22to an hour you want these nice and hard before they get into your melted chocolate so i'm just going
02:28to
02:28pop some water into the bottom of a pan add a bowl make sure the bottom of your bowl isn't
02:33touching
02:34the water and then you want to slowly heat your chocolate on a sort of low to medium heat you
02:39don't
02:40want this boiling furiously because you don't want to scorch your chocolate so just do it nice and slow
02:46probably take you about five or ten minutes just nice and easy like i said you don't want this furiously
02:52boiling away just gently melt this until it's all completely melted and once it's completely melted
02:59take it off the heat and then get your coconut nuggets out of the fridge if they are nicely set
03:07so we're just going to drop these into your chocolate sort of roll them around till i've got
03:11a nice thick coating of your chocolate i am using forks because it lets the chocolate drain you know
03:17the excess chocolate drain from underneath just give it a wee shake or give it a wee scrape underneath
03:24with your fork just to get rid of the excess from underneath just to make sure it doesn't stick
03:30to your wire rack make sure you get something under there to catch the dribbles
03:34and with a knife i'm just going to make some wee indentations on the top just like you would you
03:39know with a normal bounty bar so just keep going with all of your coconut bars dip them in the
03:46chocolate set them to the side make your wee indentations in the top until you've run out of
03:53your coconut bars just like this you know it's ever so easy now you want to let this set again
04:00in your fridge just until your chocolate is set might take another half an hour or an hour you
04:07know just give them the time that they need to make sure your chocolate is nice and firm and looking
04:13something like this you might get a wee bit of condensation on them just because they come out
04:18of the fridge into the warmer kitchen but that will go away as your bars come up to room temperature
04:24and would you look at these just as you would expect and these are beautiful and in my opinion
04:30better than the shop bought bounty bars mr watts for tea absolutely love these like i said i got about
04:3710 bars of this size from my mixture but if you're making them smaller you will get more so do
04:44let me know
04:45if you're planning and giving those ones ago well worth it in my opinion and a huge thank you as
04:50usual
