00:00Feedback coming in.
00:02Keith in Heartland.
00:03What are the Lions doing?
00:05Rakestraw?
00:06Smalls?
00:07Abney?
00:07Cutting Whiteside and Dorch?
00:11I came close to champing Ennis Rakestraw.
00:14When we did the show on Friday, we talked about who we most wanted to see
00:18step up and make plays.
00:20I said Ennis Rakestraw, and he did.
00:23He made a couple plays.
00:23Yeah, he came up.
00:24He was really good in run support.
00:26And every time he lowers the shoulder,
00:32is he going to get up?
00:34And he did.
00:34He had the interception.
00:36The interception came because of a jailbreak pass rush,
00:38but he still made a nice play on the ball.
00:41He did.
00:41He broke on the ball, picked it off,
00:42and there were some plays that looked like the receiver got the best of him
00:46on a couple of plays consecutively early in that game.
00:49But they do, like we said earlier with Abney,
00:53they love defensive backs who come up and make plays against the run.
00:57And he's willing to do that.
00:58And if he can stay healthy, which seems like it's a giant if,
01:02but if he can, they hope that he can develop and be the player
01:04that they thought he was when they spent a second-round pick on him
01:08a few years ago.
01:09So those two plays, the back-to-back plays,
01:11the first one was a fourth and sixth.
01:12I'm not sure it wasn't zone coverage and not necessarily his responsibility.
01:16The second one was totally man-to-man and it was a comebacker down the sideline
01:22and he gave up the reception there.
01:25But, you know, it's – I'm not – is anyone surprised Dennis Raikstra
01:30who comes out of the preseason healthy made the team?
01:32I don't.
01:34Maybe just a little bit, I guess, because we'd heard so much about how
01:37Whiteside was doing and how versatile Whiteside was,
01:40playing at safety, playing at corner, playing at nickel,
01:42whatever they needed him to do, he was doing it.
01:45I guess to that extent I was a little surprised.
01:48Yeah.
01:49There was the other player I thought had a great game on Saturday
01:52but also looked like he got banged up and that was a Maren Brown.
01:56Looked like he made a couple of really nice plays in that game
01:59but thought he got banged up too and he was released.
02:01Let's get back to your phone calls.
02:03We go to Justin in Starling Heights.
02:05Hello, Justin.
02:06Hey, how you doing?
02:08What's up?
02:08So, I'm just calling about the Nes – or the Espresso machines
02:13and I've been an Espresso drinker for probably well over 20 years
02:17and I started with a very basic machine
02:21and then I slowly upgraded to a full-service does-it-all machine.
02:30Really?
02:31And that worked very well for a long time until I tried a Nespresso machine
02:38which is almost like the pods like Keurig
02:41but it's a little bit different and much better
02:43and it's a game-changer and it's the best espresso or best coffee that I've ever had.
02:51That's what people say.
02:52Justin, I mean, you don't have to answer the following question
02:55but how much money did you spend on the best one you've ever had?
02:59So, that one was probably close to $1,000.
03:04Okay.
03:05Now, and that was drinking, obviously, you know, three to four
03:09between my wife and I, three to four cups a day.
03:12Now, the Nespresso machine, that one was only about $250
03:17but to me that's equivalent to any coffee shop, you know, that's out there.
03:24Now, we just did a fairly large Nespresso order
03:28and we do those probably once every four months
03:32and those are about $400 every week.
03:36It's the coffee that's expensive.
03:37Those pods are really expensive.
03:39Yeah, those are a buck, probably a buck to a buck fifty a piece
03:44but my wife was drinking one the other day.
03:46She made this brown sugar iced coffee
03:50and she said it's so much better than Starbucks
03:55really at a fraction of the price, you know,
03:57but I guess if you're a big coffee drinker, to me, that's, you know,
04:01it's well worth it and I probably,
04:05we went on spring break a few years ago
04:07and I actually took my Nespresso machine with me
04:10because I was worried that I would not.
04:13Look at this guy.
04:14Justin, you sound like you are devoted.
04:17You are borderline a zealot.
04:20Do you understand Scooble's behavior
04:23taking the espresso machine out of the Tigers clubhouse?
04:26A hundred percent.
04:27I mean, that's a very, that's a hard thing to part with,
04:30especially when you're used, you're used to that one machine.
04:34I don't blame him at all.
04:36Whether he's one.
04:38Millions or not.
04:39Justin, has anyone ever suggested that you may have a problem?
04:44Well, now I don't go out for coffee.
04:47So I think that I drink fully in-house
04:51and I drink, I drink two to three a day.
04:55So not much more than that, but these are ones,
04:59no, no cream, no sugar.
05:01You just, you can drink them straight up.
05:03They're that sweet.
05:03This is full devotion, Justin.
05:05I am impressed.
05:07And those go for anywhere between, I mean,
05:09you can get simple ones from Nespresso,
05:11like 130 bucks up to like $300.
05:14If you get the milk frother.
05:16Well, who amongst us can resist the milk frother?
05:20Then they have the most expensive version
05:22as the integrated milk wand for brewery style coffee at home.
05:26Yeah, sure.
05:27That goes for 700 bucks.
05:29Yeah, Justin was thoroughly devoted.
05:31In stainless steel.
05:32248-539-9797.
05:34Marcus in East Point is next.
05:36Hello, Marcus.
05:37Hey, gentlemen, let me give you a quick story.
05:39And I got a champion show.
05:41Okay.
05:41It's funny, you guys are talking about this
05:43espresso stuff, right?
05:45Yeah.
05:45So yesterday I go to Chicago to move my daughter
05:47into college at DePaul, right?
05:50Yeah.
05:50And she's ordered all this Amazon stuff.
05:53So I'm unpacking everything.
05:54And here's this Nespresso machine.
05:57And I'm like, who needs an espresso maker
06:01in a dorm room, right?
06:03Yeah.
06:04So I'm putting everything together.
06:05She breaks off an espresso thing, drops a cup in and goes,
06:09Dad, drink this.
06:10Now, mind you, I hate coffee.
06:12I've never drank espresso or none of this stuff.
06:15This thing is like salted caramel, gugash, whatever.
06:23Oh, Mark.
06:24And it was, I'm sorry, just got it.
06:26And so it was, how did it taste?
06:31Oh, we lost you, Marcus.
06:33You can get one for 125 bucks.
06:34All right.
06:35We just about launched it real quick.
06:37Give us your champ and chump.
06:40My champ is Josh Dobb.
06:42And my chump is the Tigers for kissing up the Tariq school.
06:46Oh, wow.
06:47All right.
06:472, 4, 8, 5, 3, 9, 97, 97.
06:49George in Belleville is next.
06:51Hello, George.
06:52Hi, guys.
06:53Guys, I just wanted to weigh in on some of the draft cuts.
06:56Yeah.
06:56Particularly the guys who returned punts and kickoffs.
07:01Yeah.
07:01Tom Kennedy and Dorch.
07:03Yeah.
07:04They got rid of it.
07:05Well, they're gone.
07:06Yeah.
07:06And they'll probably come back.
07:07But my key is that they're keeping Sion Bakke.
07:11And I think they're going to give him the job.
07:14Of kick and punt returns?
07:17Yes.
07:17And on all special teams.
07:19I mean.
07:20That's just my take.
07:21It could be.
07:22You know.
07:24She's a fantasy player for somebody.
07:28But he's exciting.
07:31So, Kang, you are a big Sion Bakke fan.
07:34The truth.
07:34Do you think they're hanging on to him to make him the return specialist?
07:37No.
07:38Especially not the punt return.
07:40But he does provide special teams, obviously, you know, coverage and the ability to do that
07:45stuff and trick plays.
07:47But Sailors is clearly the kick returner.
07:49They like him doing that.
07:51I think Bakke is on the team because he was a third round, fourth round pick, right?
07:55And he provides so much on special teams when healthy.
07:58My concern with him is he hasn't been really healthy the last couple of years.
08:01And whether it's a freak accident or a regular accident or a regular injury or freak injury,
08:07he's got to be available.
08:08But they kept an extra running back, it seems like, because maybe Pacheco is not going to
08:12start week one.
08:13I'm not sure.
08:13I feel like there's something there.
08:15That's why they kept the extra, you know, smalls or whatever.
08:17But as far as returning punts, I don't think Bakke is the guy.
08:19I think Dorch is coming back.
08:21This is like some kind of roster gymnastics that's going on.
08:24And he's going to be back in the roster week one.
08:26I don't know how they're going to do it, but I feel like that's what's in play.
08:28Things get really weird with the rules and all that.
08:32And so I wouldn't be shocked if Greg Dorch is back.
08:38I would be.
08:39Bakke has four kick returns in his career.
08:42No punt returns.
08:43No, he's better off as a kick returner if one of the two, because of the running back
08:47style, how the kickoff formation is now.
08:49Yep.
08:50I'm with Kang on this.
08:50I think they're going to find a way to figure out how to get Dorch back on here.
08:56Look, there's all types of roster manipulation.
08:58Look what the Rams are doing to accommodate Aaron Donald and a $20 million base salary.
09:03And somehow that fits under the cap with potential make up to $30 million with incentives.
09:08I don't know how that works, but again, thin air roster in cap space.
09:12Carson Anderson, 97-1.
